I used to not be a fan of this place; more than quite some years back, the place seemed almost rotted run down and out of shape. But once money came in from the government major repairs and renovations gave this place a vibrant clean-up job! Now anytime I come here I feel this place is in tip top shape. While there usually isn't much to review about a SEPTA station that would put it any sort of good light, I have to say that I've recently become a fan of 69th Street Station. This transportation hub is the only spot where you can catch the Norristown High Speed Line from the city out into the 'burbs. On a couple recent trips, I've been quite confused as to which one of the many trains I should enter, because even though there's only one rail line, there are four separate routes!! I always ask one of the conductors standing on the platform which train I should take, and they're courteous enough to point me in the right direction. I also like that you can speak to the drivers of the Norristown line while in transit (more like a bus), where as on the BSL & MFL, there's no way to interact with the drivers! BTW, the Norristown line is named "high speed" for a reason. Take your seat quickly upon entering, or you might be thrown down the aisle into a stranger. read more

A update on 69th street last time I was here I transferred to the market Frankfort line both ways as I was walking there were a bunch of people (possibly homeless) outside smoking and sleeping on the ground since the benches were removed as I got off the market Frankfort line there was septa police and other responders having to deal with a person who was passed out or something right next to the train car, but nothing has changed in the midst of the pandemic not many wear masks and I recommend not coming through here find another way to where you are going read more

It looked to me like Septa is avoiding the hassles with the (apparently one and only) pair of restrooms by closing the gate and putting up a "Closed for Repairs" sign. So if you have long rides before and after connecting at this main hub, consider going easy on the morning coffee. read more

There are no places to sit. It is very drab and unwelcoming. The access steps up need a good scrubbing.

This review is about the Crown Fried Halal Chicken store inside the 69th Street Transportation. It is across from the Pretzel Factory which is also inside the 69th St. terminal station. Upon using the atm in the store, I was looking at the display case for bottled water and found none. One of the employees dashed to the counter like his feet were on fire to watch me. He then barked, "What you buy!?" I was surprised. He did not ask what I needed, but was accusingly asking me, What you buy?! like he caught someone stealing. I just looked at him as I was not buying from someone talking to someone like that. He then had the audacity to point me out the door. I turned to say, I was trying to buy water and he said, "No" while shaking his head to cut me off. He did not even hear what I had to say. I was slightly traumatized and felt disrespected. That is not how you treat people. I did not have to use their atm and will have to go elsewhere for even that. It is not good to patronize people who act in such ways. After all if they treat you like that to your face, what do you think they do to the food? I would like to note that the shop employees where Middle Eastern and many who come to this country hold unjust hatred for those who don't look like them, ie blacks. This transportation is the Golden Chariot of the Greek Gods....Sike. I'm kidding. Out of all my travel experiences for NYC to Singapore, I must say Philly's transportation system is out of date. They're the only transit system that still uses token. Their new Septa Key, electronic payment system, is poor at best. Their turn style run on a delay response time, which is horrible during rush hour. The old school time turn styles work properly. I have been using their transit system for nearly two decades. It was out of date then and it is way out of date. Expect major delays. If it is on time, be blessed that they believe and run on their schedule. I love SEPTA's 69th street terminal. It's super conveniently located, right at the heart of the business district in Upper Darby; there's a ton of stuff around the terminal; it's probably the densest walkable commercial district west of center city Philly. There are a ton of routes that start and end here, both ones going into the city and suburban routes. The ones I use most frequently are the Market-Frankford line (the "el"), and the Norristown High Speed Line (Route 100), but there are a ton of bus routes as well as the two suburban trolley lines that go southwest. The terminal itself is spacious and I find is quite an attractive building. It is kept reasonably clean, which I find remarkable given the volume of people who come through it every day. There's also a very convenient pedestrian bridge which goes out of the terminal and across market street, down onto 69th street, thus avoiding the need to cross that busy street. I'm a huge fan of this terminal. I think it's a huge asset to the community, and it always brightens my day when I get to transfer at it on my way somewhere. read more

Saturday afternoon I passed through while travelling from Philly to Delaware county. Walking through the 69th street terminal I see homeless people everywhere, sleeping and hanging out in and outside the station.. I see junkies walking around looking like zombies from " The walking dead". One of the men in the station suddenly became very hostile and started yelling and harassing people at the station. Septa police was nowhere to be found. I could not get out of there fast enough. If this is what it's like during the day, I can't imagine what it's like after dark. As a life long Philadelphia resident, I used to travel through this station daily to get to work, center city. Etc. This station has gone completely down hill. It is not safe for anyone. I will not be passing through there again. read more

This terminal is the main hub for Busses and trolleys inot delaware county and throughout. Such as 109 111 and 110 busees along with 123 104 and 115. Trolleys are 101 and 102 it was not the cleanest of terminals so be aware! read more

Sorry for the low number of stars, but this station could go a long way in order to improve. I really wish more shops were open, that the shops offered more than donuts or pizza and soft drinks, and the place was washed a little more. The buses from here go pretty much anywhere. Of course going this route is more time consuming than taking the train,but they make for a great/cheaper alternative to getting out of the city for a day. Try to show up a little early so you don't have to run through the station and up the ramp through mounds of people. You'll be less sweaty too. read more

Honestly i recommend a regional rail over this line from birth speak. But! This train has always been there for me. Home wrk concerts and back its been there. Never vacant or absent in schedule, promt at best late at worse. Norristown High Speed line, the war Horse in the Septa stable! read more

I like the location but after 7 it's not very safe. My first experience in this station I received multiple cat calls and one drug offer. If you're a female and you absolutely have to use this station at night bring a male with you. I'll never use this station alone at night. I am giving my review based on 69th street transportation center itself and NOT septa as a whole! It is a good place to have. It's a very busy hub to catch a bus or train going all over the city. A few stores to get food but nothing crazy. Now the problem i have with this place is the sanitation. This place is FILTHY. There are lot's of homeless people asking for money and sleeping all over the place.Transit police are a joke and don't make me feel safe. I watched a crackhead (slowly) outrun two transit police while they just slowly walked behind him. If there was any place you would catch an std from a toilet seat this would be the place. Every single time I enter the bathrooms here, without fail, one toilet is clogged and there is water all over the entire bathroom. A few times I've seen blood all over a stall. Not period blood but it looked like a crime scene. Never toilet paper. Once there was a woman sleeping on the floor in a stall in the women's restroom. I told somebody and they just laughed and said she probably just lives there. Often at night they close down the bathroom that has probably 4 to 5 stalls in it, leaving the only womens bathroom accessible to be the one that only has 2 stalls and 9 times out of 10 one of the toilets is clogged and overflowing, leaving 1 single toilet for hundreds if not thousands of women to use for the day. Please try to steer clear of the bathrooms and you might be ok. I really feel like this is an extreme health hazard and someone really needs to come inspect this place and if they did they would probably shut it down. Another thing I'd like to add is that the pizza place in there does not use gloves. I noticed this once and was asking the guy making my sandwiches to use gloves and he just stared at me like i was nuts and kept making my sandwiches and other people's sandwiches with his bare hands. Handling both meat and eggs. Touching god knows what else. Please somebody come inspect this place. read more
