I mean he knows all the freaking trains and stops in Boston. When he knew we were traveling to a new city he had an agenda : ride the subway trains and buy the subway trains. AT THIS PLACE YOU CAN DO BOTH. There is even a trolley on the bottom floor that you can climb in and pretend to drive. At Christmas it was nicely decorated too. I don't think he will ever forget. We bought a bus , a girard green trolley and a subway (which happens to be the market line) We are enablers. If you are a train enthusiast , they sell $$$ model trains. And mugs that say I love trains ! And lots of other things. Oh and they have Thomas trains and a train table. I can't believe this place exists. MBTA get with the program.

You can also link to the Broad Street Spur or the El here. If you're out late at night on a weekend, you can expect massive crowds. I can't begin to tell you how many times drunken people heading back across the bridge have casually walked into me without apology while I waited for the train. For this reason, I prefer the other stations -- in particular 15/16 and Locust -- much more. Otherwise, this spot is decent. I'm glad it exists, but I wish it could undergo a remodel. It needs one desperately.

Heading into NJ, this is usually the stop where the most people get on. Luckily I'm usually on board before then, so I have a better chance of a seat than those boarding here.

We booked a room here to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday in Philadelphia. We typically don't book…read moreB&Bs but were intrigued by the historic appeal and location. We were very pleased to find a parking garage adjacent to the estate and proximity to Old City and its amenities. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner, Nature, who was very hospitable. We stayed on the third floor and were quickly reminded that we were not in a hotel (i.e., no elevators) and began lugging our bags up the steep staircase. Our room - and the entire house - was as authentic as possible following some minor restoration. The decor was not our cup of tea, but it fit the theme and we were not surprised it was missing some modern touches (i.e., USB outlets, an updated shower, etc.). We stayed here only one night but got to experience breakfast on Sunday morning; fresh pancakes with powdered sugar and blueberries and perfectly cooked sausage links. The hot food was complemented by a continental breakfast spread of fresh fruit, bagel, bread, and pastries. Our only gripe of the entire stay was that our room was extremely warm. The owner informed us upon arrival that "only heat was on" and to use the fan in the room if necessary. Unfortunately, the fan did not suffice and we were forced to prop open a window to cool of the room before we slept. Sadly, we could not keep the windows open while sleeping, because there were no screens and the city is noisy at all hours - especially early in the morning. Overall, it was an interesting experience. But, we will most likely book a hotel during our next overnight visit to the City of Brotherly Love.

I came to Philly for 4 days specifically to have a quest place to write grants for my non-profit…read more For the entire 4 days, there was NO WIFI in the room. Nor did other guests have WIFI in their rooms. Each day I communicated with staff re this hardship and my reason for being there. I paid over $600 for the room and was only comped $100 for the inconvenience. On my last day, a staff member said I could have a late check out of 4 pm as my flight did not leave until 8, as a way to compensate for the issues. The manager then called at 2:45 saying I had to be out immediately. The one outlet in my bedroom did not work.There is no heat - and it got down to 45 at night. There is only a space heater, which is not safe to run all night. Stairs are steep and there are a lot of them. There is no one to help carry luggage. Rooms are small. Mine was freezing - had to ask for blankets as there were not extra in the room - as they had indicated.

If being specific, the day after I checked in I noted that someone went through my medications I left in the fridge and rebagged them. On the one hand this is quite rude and made me feel violated. On the other hand they simply have people hunched over-passed out-doing drugs across from the doorway and so I shrugged it off as I assumed they were having trouble with this. A couple of the ladies were especailly kind. Stephanie I believer her name is took the group on a rather fun ghost tour which when compared with the tour I spend $25 on later was better. Another lady working checked out their umbrella and I didn't have to like 'ah leave ID or anything. That was cool. But then some of the staff are just deal breakers. On my last night I bought a Philadelphia Cheesesteak and wanted to eat in the lounge while either deciding to extend the weekend or treck back eariler to New York. Dude in a trucker hat with long hair said to clear out and then waited and watched me pack up my stuff from the fridge. So kinda ruined my hoagie, I was like 70-30 on staying the weekend, that put a bad taste in my mouth but ah, now I'm having that hoggie. I would stay at the other hostel as I heard through the grapevine they do more social activies and it's online a bit cheaper. I haven't seen it but imagine safer for familes and groups. Alright.

I have stayed in hostels all over the world, but never in the States, as I feel like they don't…read morehave a good reputation here. I really wanted to be in Philly, because my church was having a fellowship weekend and my usual hosts were not available. This hostel was in the middle of an alley in the center of downtown, so very convenient location. It was spacious with front check in area, pool table, kitchen, couches, and games. The decor is colorful and fun, with plenty of Philly inspired artwork. I received my key card and towel, then headed upstairs to the room, which had a large window and 6 bunk beds. The space seemed to be clean and well kept. There was a towel hanging on one of the hooks, so I put my towel (of a different color) next to it. When I returned late that night, I noticed that my clean towel was no longer on the hook. I looked around and saw said towel haphazardly thrown on a lower bunk bed that was not mine. Why do people have to ruin things?! I cannot fathom how anyone could think it is appropriate to use and much less, touch, someone else's towel! Feeling quite upset, I had to go back down to the front desk (which was thankfully 24 hours) in order to get a new towel. After that, I made sure to lock up my towel. The bathroom for the floor was pretty well maintained. Kitchen was nice and cute with plenty of spots to sit. There was free tea, as well as a machine providing coffee and chai for $1. I selected the Chocolate Chai, which was a comforting blend of rich cocoa and warm spices from the chai flavor. Overall, service was welcoming. The guests mostly kept to their own group, which is not what I'm used to when I'm in hostels internationally. However, I didn't really mind since I was barely there. I might consider staying again, but only as a last resort.

They charged for 7am to 1pm at $15 and then at the gate demanded $28 since the parking was till 3:30pm. No callbacks or nothing. Of course they do it through Jpass which means they can now pawn off their charges. Since I am patriotic, I will say that I paid towards the forefathers and what they mean to me but this is poor business practice. Have all the proof. Will make a BBB note for their poor business practice and/or judgement.
