Well.. not really worth the cheat meal. The beef patty was really dry and the flavours just weren't there. Once the food was ready, we weren't even called to get it, it was just placed on the ledge. We wouldn't have known it was our order had I not asked. Ordered Richview burger - wasn't spicy as noted on the menu either Philly cheese steak- lacked flavour Milkshakes - really good

Visited here for take-out food. Ordered #1. Kingsway (Steak Sandwich) $15 #2. Bayview (Beef burger with fried Mozzarella) $14 #3. Spicy mayo fries #4. Poutine My impressions : - #1-3: tasted the same, due to overuse of mayo-based dressing. - #3&4: Fries were dry, and the badly done fries were covered by excessive sauce (gravy or mayo), which made me feel cheated. - #1,2 & 3: Cheese was hard, not melty. Overcooked? Or bad quality? If you expect the meltiness of cheese in #1, don't. Hard crust, hard cheese. I was also disappointed by #1's small amount of steak pieces compared with the size of the bread. All I tasted was bread and mayo. The beef was extremely dry and chewy. Conclusion: If you want to load yourself with calories, that is a perfect place to go. But this place is way pricier than McDonald's. Half an hour of wait. But I do not blame the employees - only two of them were cooking/taking orders for many customers. They were polite and nice.

Went again to 6ixside Burger.....had another solid meal tonight!!! Had the Liberty which has a deep fried crusted portobello stuffed with cheddar and mozzarella.....hella big burger and was a solid bite!!! The side of onion rings were an awesome side to go along with it!!! My wife had the Cooksville which was a nice simple little burger Price was reasonably decent Overall this was another great meal and a great burger that I would definitely recommend

Absolutely amazing food, customer service, and interior design. Service was surprisingly fast as well! The staff was amazing and the washrooms were clean. We will definitely be back with more family and friends again!

Full disclosure here. We went there on a Saturday night at 7:00 pm First off the kitchen was a bit disorganised. While we waited 27 minutes to eat there there was a log jam of Skip the Dishes and Door Dash drivers waiting to get their orders. The front door was broken so off its hinge which meant the door stayed open a bit too long or it slammed shut. I ordered the Park Side with onion rings and a chocolate milkshake. My partner ordered their cheese burger with fries and a fountain drink. In fact, the number of different burgers on the menu made remembering the unique name harder for her. Something to be said about reviewing the menu ahead of time. I did think that with the prep staff sporting beards that a facial net would be mandatory but clearly not. But after the first bite all I could taste nothing but garlic. The taste was strong and I half though it was fresh garlic versus roasted. Both the fries and onion rings were less than warm. However the milkshake was out of this world good. Very chocolatey and not that sweet. In hindsight I might have asked to skip the whipped cream. The burgers were well cooked but the aioli completely over whelmed the meal. All I could taste was garlic. The place is self serve and the selection of condiments is only ketchup. You have to ask for salt or pepper. The place serves as an reminder of Drake with a large portrait of OVO on the wall. But at $54.00 for both meals it is a very steep price for a sub par cheese (garlic) burger. So disappointed.

The burgers were okay but not as good as Burgernator in Kensington Market. The fries were a lil overfried and devoid of potato inside. The food is bit overpriced for the taste n quality. Took foreverrrrrrr when the restaurant was near empty. My big thumbs down is that even though this is a "halal meat" venue and public restaurant open to all ages and families, they were playing music with lots of profanity and offensive language. We were with kids in the restaurant and they didn't change the music. The kids were in shock and kept pointing out the frequent swear words. As a Muslim business with Muslim employees on-site this was highly offensive, disappointing and embarrassing. Even non-Muslim fast food restuarants have more integrity than this. I emailed the restaurant and later sent them messages on ig requesting a response but they ignored it all. Go to Burgernator instead. Its worth every penny. Best fresh burgers ever.

We live close to here and have been meaning to try their burgers. I had a Rosedale which is crushed portabelo mushroom and cheddar cheese. The food was really good, the fries were really tasty. My partner had a Riverdale she liked and my mom had a guildwood she said was good. I think this place has dethroned The Works as best burger in Pickering.

New burger place in Pickering and just had to check it out. They definitely have some crazy burgers to try and the steak sandwiches are pretty massive that it can actually feed 2 people. Staff is super friendly too. I gave it a four because their sides are not worth it. When you pay $5 for a side of fries and it's fries that you get from Costco it's a huge disappointment. But definitely have the burgers!

For ages, we passed by Big M, noting its classic retro vibe and steady flow of customers. For years, we brushed off the recommendations of Pickering friends, but now, we have finally decided to stop by for a burger. There is outdoor seating only, so in the winter, Big M is a take-out only restaurant. Nevertheless, it was doing a brisk business at 6:00 on a Saturday. We each ordered Banquet Burgers (cheese and bacon). My husband and daughter ordered fries; I went for onion rings. They also each ordered a milkshake. Our opinion was united in that the burgers, shakes, fries and onion rings were exactly what the traditional, retro décor would lead us to expect. You'll not find surprising toppings or artisanal brioche buns at Big M, nor will you encounter the trending smash-burger. Rather, Big M succeeds because it delivers a fantastic version of the sort of burger that your Dad or Grandpa might have grilled up, or the burgers from that retro diner that you parents may or may not have dropped by on their way to the cottage that your family may or may not have visited or owned. Even if these weren't part of your childhood experiences, Big M serves up great traditional fare. Our burgers were made to order as we watched, and had a pleasantly browned and smoky finish, flame-licked by the grill, fresh, tasty toppings. The burger patty itself was neither thick nor thin, but classic 1/2 inch or so. The toasted Kaiser roll stayed crispy, and survived the trip home without getting soggy. The onion rings were the old fashioned, somewhat ponderous kind, as opposed to a lighter tempura style batter, and I relied on my husband to finish eating them on my behalf. But that substantial batter was exactly the right choice to pair with a traditional burger. The shakes were also traditional milk shakes, as opposed to, simply, "shakes", which may or may not contain actual milk or ice cream. The take-away: Big M is what it appears to be, a classic diner offering simple, diner-style fare. As such, it delivers a satisfying meal that more than meets the expectations: words like retro, traditional and home-style spring to mind. If you are in search of a trending, cheffy and possibly pricy experience (and I do tend to flock to those, when budget permits!), then Big M is probably not for you. However, for well-executed, basic, down to earth cooking, Big M serves up an excellent retro experience at a reasonable price. I'll be back to try the Whistle Dog (cheese and bacon) and the Canadian burger (Cheese and Peameal), plus another order of those indulgent onion rings.

I've tried the onion rings, poutine and fries and they're all GREAT. Although make sure you hydrate because I did feel the effects of having a salty lunch afterwards The diner calls themselves a "drive-in" but it's more of an outdoor diner/to-go place. Most of the seating is outdoors and picnic table style. The service was wondering. Everyone is really nice and you feel welcome going here.

A handwritten sign was posted next to the window with the day's special - Pulled Pork Sandwich with choice of Fries or Onion Rings, and a drink for only $12.00, including tax! Yesss! I'll have that! Due to COVID restrictions, there was no seating available but they do have a covered area and a couple of oversized picnic tables. They'll also be adding a portable toilet on-site shortly. I've been eating a lot of burgers lately, but Pickering seems to have a lack of Smash Burgers…read more These have been in New York City for so long, that you could no longer call them trendy, but here in the suburbs, the smash burger is becoming a thing, so to speak. I've been itching to try one, and guess what? The Works Pickering, which is just a short drive from my house, has changed its menu, and the new menu offers smash burgers, complete with a potato bun, which is in keeping with the New York style!! I just had to jump on board and order from there. I had to get beyond the idea that I would pay a minimum of $20 for something that I can make very well at home for a fraction of the price. (See previous reviews). However, I don't offer a diversity of toppings, bun styles, meat vs. veggie or smash burgers at home, nor do I feel like hauling the BBQ out of the garage, so I tell myself that these extra options justify the price. We ordered for delivery, and our order arrived earlier than expected. Bravo! My husband ordered a Man Cave (not a smashed burger), and my daughter and I ordered O.G. Smash Burgers. The order was perfect, complete with all of the modifications and extras that we asked for. I am happy to report that The Works still makes an excellent burger! The smash burger style is noted for the ratio of crust to unbrowned interior meat, and indeed you do get some additional browned flavour, albeit sacrificing juiciness. My husband's thick style burger was juicier than the smashed option, but I'd say that the two smashed patties in the O.G. smash burger equaled the meat in my husband's more traditional thick burger. I think that, at the end of the day, i prefer a juicier burger with a good crust to the drier, but very well browned, smash burger. The onion rings here are excellent: super crispy, and the onion is soft enough that you can bite it without pulling it out of the ring coating in the process of eating it. The fries are very tasty too, even after steaming and softening in a take out container. I've ordered from here multiple times, and can attest that The Works delivers consistent taste and quality. While my wallet may be lighter and my bank account leaner, I cannot say the same for myself after scarfing down the O.G. smash burger and a half order of onion rings. I'll be back when I next feel that I'm ready for some slightly pricey pampering.

Nothing like the ones I remember when I placed my first review. The patties were really dry and hard to enjoy, and the fried onions sprinkled into the burger were rock hard. We really kindly let the staff know and she was pretty honest that the quality was just not going to be better if we tried again. I appreciate the honesty. At least the staff all seem to know. Super sad to see this place decline so steeply. Would honestly not be back ever. The price is ridiculously high for a giant wait time and a really terrible burger.
