My family and I were hungry after tubing and snowboarding. We happened to stumble upon this joint and ordered some burgers, onion rings and poutine($5.99) which was their special of the day. Overall everything was tasty however I thought the Cooksville burger could have been more juicy. The Blackcreek chicken burger was spot on, super crunchy and juicy. 6ixside appears to have its fans and critics: the reviews mostly cluster around 2 stars and also 4 stars. We ordered for take-out, so no comments other than it looked clean and my husband enjoyed the artwork. The burgers are entertainingly named after Toronto neighborhoods, which I thought was a nice local touch. I had the Casa Loma burger. Although some reviewers have mentioned that the patties are dry, I did not find them to be so, as they were smash style burgers (versus thick and juicy). The burgers were flavorful, with the patties featuring the very beefy, roasty flavour that you get from a well-seared smash burger. The beef "bacon" (note: 6ixside is Halal, so the bacon is beef) really enhanced the flavor profile of the burger, as did the garlic aioli. It had a slight, pleasant kick to it and a great garlic flavor. I only wish the cheese would have stood out a bit more. It kind of blended into the whole burger, and I couldn't detect its taste or texture independently of the rest of the burger. I do like my gooey melted cheese. My husband and daughter ordered the same burger, enjoyed it, and also really loved their milkshakes. The milkshakes were on a 2-for-1 deal (oh yes!) and they both felt that the shakes were a highlight of the menu. We had a satisfying burger take-out meal from 6ixside, and I would recommend it to anyone in the Pickering area. Parking is plentiful in the large plaza. I took off a star because their food is rather pricey, and the cheese experience didn't quite match my 5-star expectations. Otherwise, 6ixside is an excellent choice for some burgers. read more

Poutine My impressions : - #1-3: tasted the same, due to overuse of mayo-based dressing. - #3&4: Fries were dry, and the badly done fries were covered by excessive sauce (gravy or mayo), which made me feel cheated. - #1,2 & 3: Cheese was hard, not melty. Overcooked? Or bad quality? If you expect the meltiness of cheese in #1, don't. Hard crust, hard cheese. I was also disappointed by #1's small amount of steak pieces compared with the size of the bread. All I tasted was bread and mayo. The beef was extremely dry and chewy. Conclusion: If you want to load yourself with calories, that is a perfect place to go. But this place is way pricier than McDonald's. Half an hour of wait. Had the Liberty which has a deep fried crusted portobello stuffed with cheddar and mozzarella.....hella big burger and was a solid bite!!! The side of onion rings were an awesome side to go along with it!!! Headed to 6ixside Burger before a late movie with friends and glad we stopped by. The restaurant is located in a little plaza across the street from the Pickering Town Centre. It's not too hard to find and has plenty of parking available. Walking in, the store definitely seemed a bit rundown with a whited out wall which you could tell had some decor on it before but had since been taken down. The drink machines were placed close to the cash but some flavours were out and covered with pieces of paper to notify customers. Not the most attractive setup but that's okay. There was a decent amount of seating but a large group was eating and had taken a few tables to extend their booth so we ended up sitting at the window barstyle tables as we waited for our orders. I'm not going to lie, the tables and walls were kinda dirty so I was a little turned off there. However we ended up taking over a booth when another group left. We ordered 3 burgers, a cheesesteak sandwich, a regular poutine and a steak poutine. Let me tell you, this was a lot of food. It is a little more expensive than other burger joints but man they give you a lot of food for the price. Everything was made to order hence the wait times however everything was piping hot and fresh. I really liked the steak sandwich I got, the sauce was amazing! The burgers looked really good and were cooked perfectly. The steak poutine was okay and had a bit to much stuff on it but that was more personal preference. Full disclosure here. We went there on a Saturday night at 7:00 pm First off the kitchen was a bit disorganised. While we waited 27 minutes to eat there there was a log jam of Skip the Dishes and Door Dash drivers waiting to get their orders. The front door was broken so off its hinge which meant the door stayed open a bit too long or it slammed shut. I ordered the Park Side with onion rings and a chocolate milkshake. My partner ordered their cheese burger with fries and a fountain drink. In fact, the number of different burgers on the menu made remembering the unique name harder for her. Something to be said about reviewing the menu ahead of time. I did think that with the prep staff sporting beards that a facial net would be mandatory but clearly not. But after the first bite all I could taste nothing but garlic. The taste was strong and I half though it was fresh garlic versus roasted. Both the fries and onion rings were less than warm. However the milkshake was out of this world good. Very chocolatey and not that sweet. In hindsight I might have asked to skip the whipped cream. The burgers were well cooked but the aioli completely over whelmed the meal. All I could taste was garlic. The place is self serve and the selection of condiments is only ketchup. You have to ask for salt or pepper. The place serves as an reminder of Drake with a large portrait of OVO on the wall. But at $54.00 for both meals it is a very steep price for a sub par cheese (garlic) burger. So disappointed. read more

The burgers were okay but not as good as Burgernator in Kensington Market. The fries were a lil overfried and devoid of potato inside. The food is bit overpriced for the taste n quality. Took foreverrrrrrr when the restaurant was near empty. My big thumbs down is that even though this is a "halal meat" venue and public restaurant open to all ages and families, they were playing music with lots of profanity and offensive language. We were with kids in the restaurant and they didn't change the music. The kids were in shock and kept pointing out the frequent swear words. As a Muslim business with Muslim employees on-site this was highly offensive, disappointing and embarrassing. Even non-Muslim fast food restuarants have more integrity than this. I emailed the restaurant and later sent them messages on ig requesting a response but they ignored it all. Go to Burgernator instead. Its worth every penny. Best fresh burgers ever. read more

New burger place in Pickering and just had to check it out. They definitely have some crazy burgers to try and the steak sandwiches are pretty massive that it can actually feed 2 people. Staff is super friendly too. I gave it a four because their sides are not worth it. When you pay $5 for a side of fries and it's fries that you get from Costco it's a huge disappointment. The fries are the worsttt. Taste so stale and dry. Burger doesn't taste very good either. Try somewhere else.

They don't skimp on sauce. Burgers are dripping with sauce but for some reason overall burgers were not that juicy. Herbs in the burger patties are ok. Overall burger was alright. Not the worst and not the best. The spicy garlic Mayo is a bit sickening. However fast service, burger buns not bad. Good experience...just not entirely sure id get it again. I can't remember the name of the burger but it was a cheese burger with fries and pop. The burger was delicious but maybe a tad over cooked. The fries were not salted (?) and had to go back into the restaurant to add it. I thought the menu said fresh fries but I don't believe they were. I will try this place again. I do prefer fresh fries and onion rings vs frozen. Something they should consider as they get more experience. read more

The Weird part is you pay before you get your food. Order, pay, they make food, I receive food. So what am I tipping on? The service? I haven't gotten any at that point.
