If you're looking for a good bang-for-your-buck, this location is awesome because the sheer size of the burgers, sandwiches and fries are ridiculous that you can probably share any and everything on the menu. The only reason I didn't give this a full 5 stars is because based on the side of these burgers, and the thickness of the burgers, they can be a bit dry. This wasn't consistent across the board though - the sandwiches which had shaved/minced meats were incredibly moist despite being so large. I have yet to try a restaurant in Kensington that I don't love. This place is no different. I've been here twice now and their burgers don't disappoint. I've only tried their veggie burgers, and they're always kind enough to sub cheddar cheese for mozzarella cheese. The burgers are heartily filled (see people's pics) and are definitely enough to make me full, even without a side of fries. I think it's around $10 for a veggie burger, and $12-15 for meat options. My favorite part though is the bun, I think they use brioche bread so it's nice and soft and never feels dry. My friends and I were walking around Kensington market and it seemed like every restaurant was packed. Most of the places are really small and can't fit more than 20 people. Right around the corner was Top Gun Burgers and the restaurant is pretty big and has lots of seating. We were kindly greeted by one of the staff and sat down right away. Wait time was around 20-25 minutes. The burgers itself were amazing. I can't remember a time where I had a burger that was fresh and had so much flavour. The burgers were really juicy and the toppings were perfect. We had a side of fries which were pretty mediocre though. They weren't seasoned or anything - just plain fries. The burgers are also a bit pricey but you pay for quality you know? I don't really have anything to complain about except the washrooms. My partner and I ordered burgers from here on DoorDash. I was really disappointed that the steak sandwiches weren't an option to order, I wonder why? It took an hour just for our food to be prepared, so our ETA kept changing, plus our Door Dasher drove around our neighbourhood in circles a few times, but despite how long it took to get the food, we were really happy with it and I can't wait to try this place in person with fresh hot food! Anyway, we both ordered the F3 Mac burger. It was insanely huge. I misunderstood what it was, and thought that it was a grilled cheese with 2 patties in the middle (my mom used to make something similar at home). It was actually 2 full burgers, with a piece of cheese (unmelted) in between them. I ended up just separating the burgers and having one and saving the other for the next day. Even though I misunderstood the description, the burger itself was really good. It tasted like a homemade big mac. We also ordered onion rings, which were friggin' bomb. They definitely tasted like it was a homemade cornmeal batter. Mmmm. We also got the sloppy cheesy fries. I decided to check out this burger place after reading their promos for a $10 deal to celebrate their 3rd anniversary which ends on Apr 4, 2018. This place was packed around 6 PM on a sunday, and one of the staff said it was even busier just an hour prior. The people around us weren't ordering the $10 deal so presumably it's normally this busy as well. We were seated, handed a menu, and then asked to go to the back to place the order. Asked the staff what the deal was and he pointed out which items we would get, and then headed to the back. We asked for the exact items that were listed, but the cashier treated it as a regular order. After requesting for clarification, we got the promo rate. A bit questionable in terms of customer service, but not a big deal. Our orders came after 15 minutes. The table beside us that were there before us also waited quite awhile. It's a busy restaurant, so perhaps that's why it took awhile to come out, but the order numbers that were called out weren't sequential. There were a few complaints from other tables, but not a big deal. Having eaten at Harvey's and A&W recently, it was clear that the meat patties at the large franchises were inferior in size, taste, and texture. It's almost like, I haven't had actual meat in a burger for awhile. It was definitely an enjoyable burger. The (regular) fries, on the other hand, were disappointing, even though they give you so much of it. They were soft and quite flavorless to me. I like a crisp exterior and soft chewy inside. Preferably hot off the fryer. I normally do not add anything to potato fries because I enjoy the natural flavor of potatoes, but even ketchup didn't salvage it for me. We ordered the Black Eagle submarine sandwich that came with thinly sliced rib eye steak with onions, peppers, tomato, lettuce, pickles and THREE CHICKEN STRIPS. All the while drowning in melted cheese. Next time I will go easy on the cheese as my lactose intolerant stomach was too sensitive for the rest of the night. #noregrets We also shared a medium cheese fries with beef bacon. Top Gun is a quaint place in Kensington with truly amazing meat in their burgers. Juicy and meaty with tender texture. Cooked medium rare and with fresh lettuce and burger buns, it was a delicious lunch although you might need a side to be full. A little pricey but reasonable considering the burger meat is AAA ribeye steak. The staff were friendly and there were some interesting WWII military memorabilia inside (hence the restaurant name). I come to Top Gun often and always leave happy. The prices are a bit expensive, ranging from $9.50 - $23 for the burgers alone but they are worth it. The burgers taste amazing, and they offer a wide variety with somethiny unique in each one. For example, they have a burger with fried mozarella, one with pineapple, and one with an egg. The fries also taste great and despite being a bit expensive, the portion you get is huge. If you're looking to spend under a certain amount of, I'd recommend getting a cheaper burger+ fries rather than a big burger as it will be more filling. Service is usually pretty fast too, waiting time is about 10-20 mins for me depending on how busy it is. Overall, I recommend Top Gun. Friend and I decided to try this place. You walk in, get seated and given a menu, then you order up at the front. I decided to order the Bobcat burger plus medium fries. This came out to about $13. My friend ordered B52 and medium fries as well, and hers came up to about $20 or so. The service took a while, but the food was amazing. Burger patty was great, and the fries were the perfect crisp. The burger buns were not that special though; the buns got saggy due to the moistness of the patty. Also note, I don't think they give any complementary drinks unless you order it, since I remember just asking for water but I never got my water. I had to try the Black Eagle and I am glad I did. When it arrived, my first thought was "how am I actually going to eat this monster". The sandwich held together well, I expected a lot more mess. I could not really taste the jalapeños which was a bit of a letdown. $20 is a little steep but it's almost two meals. My wife ordered the Star Fighter and it was fantastic. She cut it in half and the cheese oozes out. I had a couple bites and it was delicious but rich. It would be tough to eat the whole thing and not curl up in a ball.
