My last rating review on this business was a 1 but only because there was no zero. Today's visit was really something special. As usual, we had exceptional and FUN service from Joe. Everyday is a lot better when you get to shop with Joe! And Brandon also came to help and he just lit things on fire in the best way. He asked to see pictures of our gardens, he had seen them when they were young. And also asked about our water garden which he generously helped us choose components for. We laughed we joked and we left with lots and lots of things. Thank you guys for offering up such amazing customer service. You two put Nordstrom to shame. If you two are there every Sunday, then I'm coming. That's actually how I got hooked. My hubby like sports so I would just go wander and dream. And buy a little as well. The only thing missing for me was Raechel. I love her help as well. One of which was that you can reseed your dwarf snapdragons. My daughter is collecting seeds. She said "look for the skull heads". Seven Dees garden Center in Lake Oswego is my happy place. There is so much blooming and green beauty! The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and happy. They always have good solutions for whatever challenge I may have with plants. There are so many options. I've recently discovered Dennis' 7 Dees actually has most, if not all, of their inventory up to date on their website. As a result, I've been to all locations in the last couple months to snag some of my wishlist plants. Lake Oswego is probably my favorite, I came in Monday to see the variegated Alocasia Frydeks. Nothing was locked up - not that I fault other locations for doing so - and it was really nice to be able to get a good look at the rare plants. One of the employees (I'm assuming Joe based on other reviews) practically skipped around the store with me, leading me to more collectors houseplants. He put an Anthurium Dora X Crystalinum in my hand, and I have not been able to put it down since. I love the Alocasia I originally came for, but this Anthurium is iridescent and glitters, I've never seen anything like it. Great selection of plants and supplies, and it was wonderful being helped by staff who shared my enthusiasm for this hobby. read more

Great variety and great plants. Customer service has been horrible for awhile and still remains that way. The employees hardly say hello, when I asked a question, it feels like your interrupting their work day. I bought a few hundred dollars of items and had no room on the cart for the bag of soil. Three employees standing within eye shot distance but instead, I was told to "go to the end of the parking lot and grab your bag after you empty your cart in your car. And, make sure you get the size you paid for." Just decided to write them off my list. Going to the other local huge nursery up the street in West Linn on the corner of Rosemont, because their customer service rocks (not hesitating to grab your big bag of soil and carrying it to your car). This is a very nice nursery with well selected plant material and more.The overall impression is high-end but the customer service was not up to par, at least not today. A friend and I went in today to buy pots. We are both older women late 60s and early 70s. There was quite a crew working as we struggled to get heavy pots on carts but no one offered to help. Usually help is offered with ONE pot! We managed to load our own pots into our vehicle, which we have never had to do anywhere else. Kind of high priced for self serve. Portland may have cornered the market on fine dining, but my part of the metro area has a nursery on practically every corner. Even though Dennis' 7 Dees is on the expensive side, I've been impressed on every visit by the staff and the selection. They also offer a one-year guarantee on all their plants. I am relandscaping part of my yard and after exhaustive discussions at multiple nurseries, I have been happiest here. The plants just seem healthier and they are always very well staffed. That means we have always found someone willing to talk through different options, ring us up quickly and escort us to the car and load our purchases. On one visit, I was putting together a few items and the employee said, "Oh, that just makes my heart happy!" As my husband observed, anything with a Monrovia tag is going to be $$, but they usually have multiple size options for every plant, so you can save money by going a little smaller and patiently waiting for your plants to grow. They also have a 20% off coupon in the Chinook Book. Good quality + a coupon makes my heart happy. read more

They had a holiday baazar about one month ago that I attended. They gave complimentary hot drinks and samples of wine / hard cider from vendors. I enjoyed it, but I think they needed more parking and more marketing for it since the vendors weren't getting much business. Their sale items are always a good find and it is a nursery worth exploring. Been there a few times. My favorite community event was their tomato sampling event in the summer. I got to try dozens of tomatoes even sweet ones I had never tried before. Fun nursery to visit if you are in West Linn or Lake Oswego. We hired Dennis 7 Dees for our landscaping project. The point of contact was Austin Kelly who led us through design, timeframes, bid/contracts, and administering over the actual hands on job. Any questions or problems Austin was at our door and on top of it. The hands on crew were fantastic as well, led by Kelly (different person) who ran the crew seamlessly working side by side. He was respectful of all our needs with things like fences, gates, etc with our two dogs ( super important to me), down to being quiet at 7am arrivals! We are experienced home builders (retired), and have done many landscaping projects ourselves. We were extremely impressed and we definitely see 7 Dees as one of our premiere subs. On top of this they guarantee the plants. You may not get the lowest bid from them, but save the headaches and change orders of a low ball bidder, and go with this company. read more

I like the cozy location and the fun products they have here on top of the usual gardening supplies. They have home decor and fun little indoor plants. Prices are reasonable. Downtown Lake Oswego is pretty close and there is a Starbucks just across the street if you fancy a place to sit and sip. read more

I find the staff very helpful. They have a good selection of plants and pots. They are a bit expensive but their plants live. My flower garden is mostly potted and I can see the plants I buy here survive much longer and grow bigger when I buy them here. They are cheaper than buying the same plant 2-3 times elsewhere. I wish they sold larger potted flowers like those they have by their entry. I would buy one in a heartbeat. I have taken my pots in when I transition to winter potted plants and the staff has helped me pick out the right size and amount to plant as well as maintenance tips. I would undoubtedly pay a fee if they potted them. Lazy of me, I know but they do a great job arranging them for their own displays. read more

I've called with customer service questions multiple times and the staff was rude all three times (I'm pretty sure it was the same person answering the phone. Her tone was stuck up and off putting). And then when I talked to the manager Jennifer regarding some basic questions she was rude and uninformative as well. It's not that hard to show basic service skills such as humility, kindness, or respect even over the phone. I suggest you work on that if not for the sake of Seven Dees, do it for yourself. Just had a great experience at the LO center and I'm now a 7 Dees customer for life. I went to buy 6 tomato plants (not a huge purchase), received great, warm and friendly advice from Joe, their tomato expert, paid for them, put them in a box along with my car keys, carried them to my car, put them in the trunk, slammed the trunk door shut - with my car keys still in the box! My I-phone was in the car, could not remember my wife's number, couldn't call a cab because of the virus, told Joe about my predicament and, without hesitation, he offered to drive me home to get a second set of keys! By far their best location. Really great layout. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Great selection with competitive prices. Don't venture to the other locations after visiting this one- you'll be disappointed. This location has all you need, including plenty of friendly, helpful staff even on a slow weekday morning. I also picked up some really well priced cache pots that met my all my needs. (Bridgeport had poor service and isn't easy to park near- Cedar Hills service can either be good or awful, but is ultimately my second choice in location). read more

I just got off the phone, trying to get an estimate for a small landscaping job. I'm not talking planting tulips in a bed small, but leveling a yard & installation of a retaining wall and some raised beds. Nothing huge but still a job. I was told if I'm getting other bids, it won't be worth his time to come out and give me an estimate. Though I understand the logic behind this, it's horrible customer service. It sounds like a lot of people have had excellent experience with them and that's great! But for anyone who has a small to medium sized job and just doesn't have the time or know-how to do it themselves, don't waste your time because they'll tell you you're wasting theirs. The nursery has come back sooo far in the last several years. It has a beautiful and complete stock of wonderful perennials and a knowledgeable and friendly staff to help with all your questions. Warning: It is the type of place that when you stop buy you get immediate urges to start planting! Everything is nicely arranged and fun to browse through. It is just the right size and has such a great selection, especially of affordable smaller specimens. This place is very convenient to where I live so I really wanted to love going here. I really want to get into doing more gardening and making my yard look great. However, it's the exact opposite of love. It's not the stuff they carry or the quality, it's the people that work there. They are simply horrible! No one wants to make eye contact with you because you may have a question or need help. I did get one guy to help me but he gave me wrong information about a promotion. I asked another women and she didn't speak. She just shook her head yes or no. How weird! The employees must be abused or simply hate their lives. read more

Have been customers here for almost 15 years. Not sure if there was a change in management recently but customer service and plant quality has significantly gone downhill. Would much prefer Kordell's (when open) or will drive further to one of the other garden centers to avoid the issues we've experienced at this location. Very sad. read more
