My experience was quite pleasant. The cashier was very friendly and the store was clean and stocked.

My boyfriend got their London fog while I got their matcha latte. As we waited, we took a look around and I loved the cute Halloween decorations they had as there was stuff hanging or placed neatly, nothing overly done or cluttered. They had a jar of dog treats and a bowl of candies. They also had a huge dog water bowl outside their establishment! There were a few people inside either on their laptops or chatting with others. They also had music playing at the perfect volume where you can still hear other noises but not too quiet where you can hear everything. We received our drinks quickly as we were the only ones who ordered and the drinks were delightful! We also really liked their logo on the cups but sadly some of the crow's head isn't all there. My boyfriend really loved his London fog and I did enjoy my matcha latte but it had some powder that kind of messed with my throat. But other than that, we definitely want to stop by and they do offer punch cards.

It was a great surprise to see a new indie cafe right by the bridge roundabout (12/12/25). Tiny parking lot and adjacent street parking were all full, thankfully I found a spot around the corner instead. This has outdoor seating with a great waterfront view of Sinclair Inlet, as well as, indoor seating with decent natural light. There's wrap around window seating, plus cozy couch and banquette area. The decor is pleasant with merch interspersed with art work/prints, healthy foliage, and festive touches for the holidays. Welcoming owner, I believe, at the main counter who took my beverage order. Pastries are from Macrina and coffee beans from Olympia Coffee. Aside from the usual coffee/tea bevs, there's also other food items like overnight oatmeal, breakfast burritos, smoothies, gelato, and mocktails. The barista who crafted my 16oz mocha did a fantastic job. Nicely balanced flavor wise and perfect temperature which was greatly appreciated. Most indie coffee spots are drive throughs along my route. One I had frequented on Wheaton Way had relocated and now closed. Another one I enjoy is located in the Charleston neighborhood on Callow, so it's good to add Vim & Vigor to my rotation when I'm across the sound in Bremerton.

I'd seen that Sadie had hosted small gatherings previously so I reached out to see if she'd be willing to share her space for our small group. She was easy to contact, very responsive and elated to help out for the sake of building community when I shared the purpose of our get together. She stayed late to host and provided 'your choice' holiday beverages at a flat rate for the evening. There are plenty of intimate small cafe tables and a comfy cozy couch that made for the perfect space for our after hours girls night. Sadie is truly a gem and I look forward to stopping in again soon!

The cafe space is large. Decor is shabby (stained, worn high-traffic carpet; dingy walls), but it seems like management is trying hard with tchotchkes. At least one person was taking advantage of free WiFi to work. The barista was working in a sketchbook and talking with two guys from a local auto place, who were loudly discussing how they scam out-of-towners. Service was prompt and friendly. My mocha was way too sweet and the sip I had of my mom's cappuccino was so-so. I think with a little elbow grease and attention to detail Sadie Mae's could be a great local cafe, but I left feeling underwhelmed .

Lost a 20 year loyal customer. I never leave reviews and it's a long one, but please stick with me…read moreas what I have to say comes after thoughtful consideration as a long time patron. I've been coming here since my son was born 20 years ago - when it was 'Monica's Bakery' - and it's always been stellar. Best tuna sandwich I've ever had. As my daughter grew up she loved the egg salad sandwich, and the whole family were big fans of the delicious cookies. The quiche was also fantastic. Everything WAS positively cravable. I'm so sad to report now that the new ownership of 'Old Town Kitchen' has officially taken over it's gone way down hill. No longer will you receive fresh-baked pillowy bread for your "sammy" nor can you purchase a delicious loaf of that same bread to take home. No longer will you find the exceptional baked goods you're accustomed to. There's no longer choice as to what's in your sandwich, no more "build your own", they're now only "pre-built". The bread looks impressive but is udderly underwhelming. Dry as a bone and unpleasant. IT'S A TOTAL DEAL BREAKER. There's now largely more bread than filling where the opposite used to be the rule. I actually felt the need to remove half of the bread in order for it to be edible. Had the bread been soft & fresh that would've been unnecessary. The filling recipes have changed too. The tuna filling was previously perfection and now it's very...meh. Also while I'm not averse to onions, I didn't need them or want them in my filling. No more are the tasty pickles that elevated the already amazing sandwiches. Now it's a bag of chips or a tiny, and I mean miniscule, side of cold pasta salad. It's like 3 bites worth. Also sadly very lackluster in flavor and texture. The cookies and baked goods were all just generic looking frosted things and none seemed unique or even particularly appealing. While change is inevitable, the hope for a beloved locale such as this would be at the least, the constant of quality. The new ownership has not only changed the name but sucked out the heart & soul of the place. Remodeling a building cannot compensate for food devoid of quality and great flavors. There's no 'cravability' here. We are so very disappointed that after loving a local business for 20 years it's been gutted. There nothing here worth returning for, therefore we will not be returning. I definitely cannot recommend The 'OTK' to anyone, least of all the local loyals who have come to rely on this establishment for consistent quality because sadly it no longer exists. What a shame :(
