My husband bought me some spicy tuna sushi. Which was a total joke. It was not spicy no soy sauce, less than a piece size of wasabi and less than a piece size of pickled ginger. It was a 10 piece had no taste at all nothing at all barely had tuna in it. The only crunch you could get was the cucumber that they put in. It was so sad if I could give it less than a one, I would their sushi has gone downhill. I feel bad because I didn't catch her name! She took a picture for the theme of my child's party, along with my cake order and assured me that I would be happy with my cake. She was right! When I picked up my cake the next day, I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful the cake was! I am writing a review on their website and store. I am looking for a tea kettle stove top. So, I put that in the search bar. The first thing that popped up was Stove Top dressing. So, I removed stove top and chose high to low. What is the first thing to pop up? Kitchen Aid mixers. WTH? I am not going to waste time any more time and look elsewhere. As for the store I find that if there is a yellow tag sale I need to snap a pick because it will not ring up with the correct price. I got sick of it and aske a manger what was the problem? She tried to pawn it off on the cashiers. Which is a load of bull poop. They just scan the bar code. I told her as much. That maybe they need to enter the new price into their computer unless of course it's just a ruse to steal from their customers. She didn't like that. I just spent about an hour in the Bremerton FredMeywe to get a flower pot, 3 bags of Dr Teals and some chocolate. It was inclement weather (rain/snow) so the store was not busy for the holiday season. Initially, I needed assistance as ALL of the flower pots did not have prices on them. The worker graciously hunted down the pricing and gave me a pot from another area with a barcode on it and put a sticker on it for 50% off (for the sale). The garden dept had a substantial line, but I was parked on that end of the store. When ringing up, I had to remind the cashier that the pot was 50%off, which was remedied. I was trying to watch as the pricing for the other items flashed. I paid and was handed a receipt. I immediately mentioned that the Dr Teals were 2/$10 or $5 each. I was told I had to go to the customer service desk for a refund. It was near the other side of the store, but all of the pass thrus were blocked. Not wanting to go to the other side of the store to come back to c.s., I opened a blocked area, setting off an alarm, which I ignored and got into the c.s. line I waited in the c.s. line for well over 10 minutes (which I can verify with my return receipt). While looking more thoroughly at my receipt, the price on the chocolate was not correct either. I had another customer hold my space to go check. On that one, in very small print, I had to purchase 5 to get the price. After getting my $3 and change refund, I spoke with Corey, the store manager about how disappointed I am with FM and their deceptive practices in signage, not making sure prices rang correctly, and that i should have immediately been given a refund when i pointed it out. Fred Meyer is making a practice of ripping off shoppers a few dollars at a time. Either we are too tired to notice after having to check ourselves out, wait in line. I personally will not be sad if they go under. Hopefully actual good employees, like the guy in garden, will get a cush job at a reputable, honest store like Trader Joe's or Costco.​ read more

Aisle 6-8 has what smells like a sewage leak under the floor! I was speaking to an employee there who said that several of his coworkers have gone home sick (over the past few weeks!) from the fumes. Sounds like management has a plan to "air it out"?? Definitely needs a lot more than that! It's absolutely vile! As a friend of mine recently said "They've got everything!" And it's really true. For the Bremerton area, the local Fred Meyer has the best selection of any of the large-scale grocery stores, and a friendly, inviting atmosphere. There's a better natural food selection than Safeway, and the Fred Meyer selection of bulk foods and spices is simply second to none. Produce is fresh and well-maintained, and with a good variety of organic offerings as well as the usual mix. If you can't find something, the staff there is always willing to help point you in the right direction, and often will walk you over to what you're looking for. The meat and bakery areas are worth a visit, and the deli counter often has some great deals on tasty treats. The department store side should not be missed either, with a fairly extensive selection of books, framed art, and kitchen accessories, and a pretty decent garden section. The clothes section alone is worth a visit, with an impressive selection of sizes and styles, and if you look in the right places you'll find the clearance areas offer some great prices. The obvious comparison here is against Wal-Mart, just down the road, and though Wal-Mart's prices are sometimes (not always) a hair lower, the quality and the selection at Fred Meyer is simply better. When you're ready to go, Fred Meyer has several self-checkout lines, but here's where Freddy's really wins - you really don't want to use the self-checkout. Oh, they work just fine - but unlike Wal-Mart's surly, vaguely antagonistic cashiers, Fred Meyer's are always friendly, funny, and efficient. They'll get you taken care of quickly, and you'll leave with a smile. And finally, one of my favorite things about this particular Fred Meyer - it's one of the last places I know of with a genuine Seattle's Best coffee stand, right in the middle of the store. Seattle's Best is a rarity anymore, since the recent closure of many of their shops. But here at Freddy's, when the mood strikes, I can stroll into the store and get that hazelnut latte that nobody but Seattle's best seems to get quite right. Fred Meyer's is certainly the best department store in Bremerton, and one of the best grocery stores in Kitsap County - while I love Trader Joe's and Central Market, there's that mix of selection and price that Fred Meyer just nails. They really do have everything. read more

Sorry Safeway! FM is winning the Bremerton area. Safeway always has 1-2 registers open with 7 people waiting and the wait is so ridiculous I have to checkout at the in-store Starbucks. Nobody ever asks if you need help at Safeway. Keep up the great work! For FM: Register lines move quick and have a self checkout. Products are usually stocked and prices are amazing. 7/9 times I'm asked if I need help. Which is good for any business! Hours are perfect and the Kroger brand is taking over in a good way! Ever since the improvement of the Produce Dept. it's my go to store. Sign up for the rewards card, you get customized coupons and some store credit many times during the year. Restaurants are attached so you can get some Chinese food, fish n chips or Subway if you're craving it. NOTE TO FM: FIX YOUR PARKING LINES. BECAUSE YOU CANT SEE WHATS THERE. ITS A SAFETY HAZARD. This was my favorite grocery and/or garden shop and/or department store for decades because it was Jewish-owned, something that might not matter to goyim, and not super-important to me, but it was nice, especially as it was simply one of the best places to shop anyway. It now belongs to the Kroger Corporation and has no cultural meaning. Though it was still founded right here in the Pacific Northwest during the Roaring Twenties, so it has a Northwest cultural connection. And, of course, it's still a damned good chain of stores. When I lived in Seattle I went to the one on Broadway a couple times a week (even though it was a comparatively small branch, it still met many needs, and was in walking distance). As a teenager I lived in walking-distnace of a ValuMart on Highway 99, and as it belonged to Fred Meyer, it's like I've been supporting the chain for all eternity, it's kinda sewn into my life. The only sad thing they ever did was when a few branches added gun and ammo departments. My current local branch hasn't done that thank Ghu, or I just couldn't go in there anymore. Having long ago moved to Bremerton, the Fred Meyer on Highway 303 is quite near, so it's my go-to branch. In the gardening seasons their plant selections are superb. We don't use the electronics section much but we did get a region-free dvd player so we could watch Asian films not released in North America, was surprised they had that! They recently (in 2017) completely remodeled their hot-case area for quick foods, and now eating right there in Fred Meyers almost restaurant-like, very comfy and very affordable. It's the grocery aisles I use most. With such a great health food section; since Bremerton lacks a health food store per se, this is the closest we got, and it does meet the need very well. Other places I get groceries like WinCo have no kosher section at all, but fortunately Fred Meyer's new ownership did not mean the matzoh and suchlike disappeared. I feel lost and bewildered in giant stores like CostCo, but somehow, despite the size of our local Fred Meyer, it was splendidly designed to have a most inviting human-scaled feeling. read more

My first experience with Fred Meyer pharmacy was terrible, I was told my prescription would be ready so upon arriving I think awesome no line, well they proceed to tell me it will be 30 minutes, I say ok, I'll come back in the morning, the following day I get there at noon, still no line, and she tells me oh it's not ready it'll be 30 minutes! Stopped by on Saturday, Feb. 2nd at 3pm. Kids and hubby in tow. We needed a few grocery items and I wanted a coffee. This was my experience: First stop was the Meat counter to pick up fresh shrimp. I approach the meat counter and stand there, waiting for the clerk. She is standing just outside of the employee entrance to the counter talking with someone. As I wait ( 3-4 minutes) , i notice that they must know eachother as they are laughing and chuckling. The clerk continues talking with the lady, ignoring us, and then she decides that it would be a good time to take her break. She walked over to the coffee kiosk and sat down. With no one working the meat counter I decided frozen shimp was going to have to suffice. Next stop - I go to the coffee kiosk where the rude meat lady sits and gabs it up with her friend. I order my latte, and get my kids some juice. The Home Dept. Manager stands in line behind me (she has a badge) and is now yukking it up with the meat lady and her friend. After paying for the drinks I move over the the pick up area and wait. And wait, and wait. I look over to see what is taking the barista so long and what do I notice? The home manager lady who was behind me in line is being handed her latte. Wow... She must be important. Finally the barista starts to make my drink, after the Fred Meyer Employee's drink. And who does the "Manager" go sit down with? The meat counter lady and her friend. I should have figured. Fred Meyer I am dissappointed with your lack of customer service. Since when is the employee's needs more important than the customer? Tell your employees to get coverage before leaving for their breaks. Tell your managers to act like managers. Get a new barista. PS.. I also don't like that on this same occasion I witnessed a homeless man ( i know this because he hounds me for money everytime i go there) come to the soup counter and steal all the crackers. REALLY??? Not only do I have to charge past this guy to avoid his reoccurant badgering for money but we have to arm wrestle the dude to get a couple crackers? I'm beside myself that I haven't written a review for the place I generally shop at the most. Although I have a Safeway literally a jump, hop, skip away- I prefer Freddie's for their growing organic and locally sourced food. 1) They have great customer service. The employees and are generally helpful. 2) They have a growing selection of organic produce, meats, baked goods ect. I especially highly rate their bakery for a great selection on non-baked items, locally sourced items ect. It almost- rivals Central Market. The meat selection is growing and has gotten better with time. When we first moved to kitsap 6 yrs ago- I was used to shopping at PCC- and remember asking and they didn't carry but 2-3 locally sourced meats. Again- with the popularity of organics- they have all types of meats, cuts, and are all reasonably priced. 3) They mean it when they say "one stop shopping" I can so my banking, toy shopping, home goods shopping, clothes, and pharmacy. 4) they have a gas station with reasonably priced gas! If you spend over $100 you also get $.10 off a gallon :) All in all a great shopping experience! Prices are great, selection is wonderful and you can get all your shopping done without having to drive all over town! read more

Things I like most about Fred Meyer: - It's is generally cheaper than Safeway and carries a lot more stuff. I guess Fred Meyer One Stop Shopping is like Wal-Mart (I'm thinking Supercenters, not the produce-less one in East Bremerton) minus the discrimination against women and offering low prices at the expense of taxpayer dollars that support welfare benefits for their underpaid employees. - They have a good selection of very reasonably priced organic produce and things like canned garbanzo beans (only 6 cents more than the non-organic store brand and still cheaper than the name brand). - In general Fred Meyer seems much better about organic, environmentally-friendly, and fair trade offerings. I love the whole section devoted to these, right by the produce area. During one sale they had amazing deals on 7th Generation eco-friendly household cleaning products. And the reusable produce bags I bought here and the free 6-pack wine carriers (10% discount on 6+ wines!) are great. - They have raclette cheese, which the Safeway deli people had never even heard of. I'm a cheese fanatic, so just looking at Fred Meyer's example arrangements of themed cheese platters makes me salivate. I've had a couple "meh" experiences at the Customer Service desk though... for some reason the employees there seem less efficient and friendly than the cashiers. At least they have a generous return policy (6 months!). read more

If FM wasn't here for me, I would not be able to get: a good selection of bulk foods [yay for nuts!!!] good meat alternatives. decently priced wines [buy 6 and get 105 off]~with many choices ORGANIC produce and LOTS available [WinCo doesn't have any fresh organic produce!!!!] Organic AND Bird Friendly AND Fair Trade coffee [yay, Javatopia!!] cool yard art and solar lights The people who work here are friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. So much so that I've considered leaving my profession and applying to work here. [not sure if that speaks for my career or Freddy's] While the other reviews shed a great light on this Fred Meyer, I don't believe it should be compared to a Super, or any, Wal-mart. I am not really keen on the staff at the deli save a few of them. Young lunch meat and cheese lady and fry cook who seems like I can hang out with but it is to awkward to ask that question, you guys rock. They cook a mean chicken strip. Flavor is awesome. They have good discount fruit. The lady that used to work at the Albertsons in Poulsbo is really great to interact with. They have veganaise there, which I am not a fan of vegan food or a vegan myself but I prefer this to mayo. It just taste better. Fair and honest price too. read more

Overall pretty awesome place. I only seem to have one problem..and thats with the lines. I generally end up buying way too much here (maybe a small downfall of one stop shopping)...and have to go to the "family line" which usually takes awhile. I suppose you could use the self check out. I love this store! It has a little something for everyone. The prices are decent, as well. I rarely go to Trader Joe's anymore because most of what I get is right in "Freddy's" :-). The Playland is fantastic, too! They are always so friendly and my son loves it in there so much! It has officially become ritual to potty and go to Playland first thing! Plus I feel secure leaving him there because A) my son and I wear matching ID bracelets so only I can pick him up B) The doors are always securely locked with a special key to prevent "escapes" C) security camera watches the place closely from multiple angel angles. And D) Again, the staff is in full view always (not that I worry. They, again, are just darling)! read more

Last Friday evening my purse was stolen. Within 20 minutes of it happening the thieves went to this Fred Meyer in Bremerton, WA. They used my debit card without my pin number to process three transactions. This happened simultaneously while I was on the phone with our bank trying to get it cancelled and reported as stolen. I will recover from the whole incident...I am only making this post public to educate people to ask for a photo I.D. When a customer wants to pay with credit and they are not using a PIN number. This might have prevented the loss the bank or store will incur. Also, I noticed that Fred Meyer is running TV commercials in our area stating they have the fastest checkout. I would rather they take their time and check identification!! read more

Well, I was going to give the minimum 1 star but decided on two instead since the work turned out so well. So, mrs. jeffd has a watch that has some sentimental value to her but it has a broken band and is not running. I look up watch repair and find Pro-Time listed as being fairly close by so I give them a call and ask if I drop off the watch would it be ready by Christmas which I heard "definitely"! So, since it is just under three weeks until Christmas, I go ahead and drop it off but guess what? It does not get done in time for Christmas. Even with repeated calls checking on the status and being told that it should be done it time, Christmas comes and goes. So, it ends up being done around the 2nd week in Jan and is really cleaned up and working well. The price was exactly what was quoted so all in all, I guess things could have turned out worse but I don't think that I will ever go back. read more

Had difficult time finding staff/sales associate on floor when trying to buy Char-broil gas grill. Had to asked 4 people to assist. And since the item out of its original box (yes glad it's put together), you would think that when they wheel it out from pick up area, the top would at least wrap up with plastic wrapper for furniture or cardboard for easy transport into and out of my SUV. When I asked for tape to secure loose areas like the doors and other loose gadgets in there, the lady right away says "I don't have it, usually customers has all that with them." Not the response I expected. After giving them hard time about customers service, the old man who assisted her said he'll look for it, and guess what... they have tape! :/ So beware when buying large items like furniture/appliances, because the staff not easily accessible , they just doesn't seems to know the process and hesitant to help. read more

The best grocery store close to me. Well unless I drive to Central Market. The parking lot is weird. But I guess you get used to it. Decent bulk food section. I like the they have a organic section so I don't have to wander all around the store looking for the best option. Employees are nice but not the most helpful. Wine selection is decent as well and you can sometimes get really good deals. What I like most about it though is that it cuts out all the other one stop shopping stores from my life. It's just good enough to be the better option than Wallmart, Safeway, Albertsons etc. Unless you want to drive to Central Market. read more

i had to give this grocery the top rating because, as far as grocery stores in bremerton go, this one is tops. this has been my haven of a grocery store ever since i moved to bremerton. it's not the easiest place to be a vegan in, and this is the ONLY store in bremerton that carries veganaise(which is damn near an addiction for me). they have the best selection of organic, gluten free, and vegan products in a 20 mile radius. in fact, if you want a better selection, you're options are to drive 30 min to central market in poulsbo, drive 45 minutes to the co-op in port townsend, or take the hour long ferry ride to seattle. they also have an excellent bulk selection including large flake nutritional yeast, quinoa, raw nuts and legumes, whole grain and gluten free pasta, and loose leaf tea. the prices vary, but overall are very reasonable. the organic kale is not only in better condition, but it is also cheaper then the non-organic elsewhere in town...and they have three kinds to choose from(regular green, purple, and curly leaf aka tuscan or dino kale)!! they always have a pretty good selection of produce that's not heavily bruised or wilted....they score major brownie points in my book for this fact alone. the location is kinda out the way from my day to day life, but totally worth going out of the way for. the only way that it could get any better was if it was a local community owned co-op. *crosses finger in hopes that one day. bremerton will have a co-op* read more

I pretty much do about 90% of my shopping at Fred Meyer. With the rewards program when you spend $100 in a month you get 10cents of every gallon of gas on your next fill up and when your truck holds 22 gallons every cent counts. Plus every thing that I need they have at a good price, some times better than most! read more

This is the best grocery store in Bremerton. It's not Central Market, but it's pretty decent. I really like their natural / organic selection. I personally love Fred Meyer. Very clean store with plenty of cash registers open at all times. Have you ever popped into a store for one item and it ended up being an hour long fiasco because there are two registers open and a mile long line for both of them? Yeah, me too! Never happens here and that's the biggest reason why I love it so much. They have a huge natural section (the biggest in the area apart from central market). Lots of organic options: fruits, veggies, meat, dairy, packaged goods. They have it all. I do the majority of my shopping here and that's on an all organic diet. That says a lot about a grocery store. The prices are fair but be sure to get their store card. You can rack up some major points for gas rewards. It makes a difference. read more

This was my first visit at a Fred Meyer and Found it to be a great grocery store with quality items and good prices. I bought pretty much the same groceries here as I did at the Safeway in Silverdale last week and paid much less. The produce seems to be very fresh and the items I picked up from the bakery isle were fresh and delicious! I will be adding this store to my weekly grocery rounds! I just wish there was a location closer to Poulsbo :-( read more
