What can I say...It's 7-Eleven! All my years of going to a 7-Eleven store, I cant recall a single bad experience because I've never spent more than 5mins at a time in one. Mornings usually equals a quick coffee run, hot afternoons equals water or the occasional slurpee run and late nights equals fast snack runs especially after a bar. My go to is usually a big bite hot dog for a snack. Fast and convenient for less than $2. The best part is the self-serve chili and cheese machines that you can drench your hot dogs with at no additional cost. The service has always been a quick "____, how are you today?" from the cashier. When I was a child, I would have given this 7-Eleven at least four stars for their candy selection, their sugar-filtered Slurpees, and all the free chili + cheese I could want for my hot dogs and nachos. (I mean after all, it's only gluttony if you get full, right?) Tonight I thought I'd relive my childhood by picking up a Slurpee. They had six flavors but I didn't want to try any of them. For a dollar more, I could have picked up a John Carter cup but I passed since I wasn't planning on downloading the movie anyway. The floor by the Slurpee machine was like human fly-paper and after a few minutes of indecisive loitering, I settled on my old favorite flavor: Red. As a convenience store, 7-Eleven isn't bad at all but it goes without saying that people should stay away from their hot food. I've been coming to this same 7-eleven for well over 10 years and I love the fact that they know me and my kids by name. The morning crew that is there is very sweet. I know, I know, its only a 7-11 but I can tell you that the service here is excellent here. I've been to other 7-11's in Downey and got cheated a few times by employees that wouldn't ring up items using the scanner and adding a higher price (yes it happened) but this place has never done this. Once I was charged for 2 coffees by accident and they said I could come the next morning or during the week and get the other coffee for free. I did this with no problems at all. read more

The employees are always friendly and helpful. The store and parking lot is kept very clean. With two video rental machines out front and a great selection of adult beverages inside, what else could you ask for. The ATM machine is inside @ also functions as a western union transfer station. I been coming to this 7/11 for years! I never seen this new man ever!l so rude! My friend had touched their ice cream machine door fell! I had felt bad Bc my girls had dropped it! He then asked me what I put down my pants! I have never been treated by a 7/11 staff member! We had felt unwelcome and decided to leave! Oh thank heaven for 7-11! They've done remarkably well in the deli area. Oddly enough the salads are actually well prepared w/fresh ingredients, user friendly instructions, ingredient facts, stamped dates, & very well sealed/tamper proof. Most of the ones i frequent are clean, usually well stocked & the staff are pretty customer friendly, though there's always that one . The REWARDS program.....great!! Today was the best experience I have had in a 7-11 or even just in general best customer service experience I received from Debbie (I believe she is manager).. I never had experience like this in 7-11 before cause usually the cashiers are only there to do their job and slightly or very rude (especially the one I usually went to near my house). I was a little confused on the coffee cup sizes as there are two large cups but one I think is more insulated (?) and keeps your drink warmer. So she asked if I needed any help. I mean when does this ever happen in 7-11??? Then she helped ring up my app and was right next to me actually helping me log in my phone number. I could sense that she wanted to offer me the quickest service.. it was just genuine (she is genuinely nice) , kind, something you might not see in most 7-11s or just in general anywhere you go. If I could give this place 0 stars I would! My friend walked in to the store with a Niagara brand 16oz half empty water bottle which he finished drinking and dumped the bottle in one of the trash cans. When they reached the register with what ever they were buying, the cashier accused they of grabbing one of their water bottles and drinking it. Have them attitude. My friend asked her to check the cámaras and she said no. He asked to speak to a manager and they told him he was off and he could not be bothered but yet she kept accusing of stealing. I usually just come here to rent movies from the redbox. DONT go on the weekend. Especially at night. It gets so packed. The parking lot in the front is tiny but they have more parking the back. It would be easy to get to the back, if people didn't park their car in the NO PARKING zone. Seriously people, keep it clear. They are a great place to go to for little snacks or some morning good ol' coffee. They never fall short with their supplies. On the rare times that they do I still easily find alternative things right away. They are always welcoming and greet people at the door when they aren't busy helping someone at the register. My only problem if any is finding parking during certain times of the day. Redbox customers are my biggest competitors for parking. Aside from that parking becomes an issue during their delivery times but that's all understood. Keep up the good work fellas!! read more

Zero stars if the option was available. Bought mega mills on 2 separate tickets -one quick pick and one with numbers picked out. MATT scanned one ticket twice so we had 2 lotto tickets with the same numbers. Told him, he said "oh well too bad you should've checked it, i can't refund this" I'm not the one scanning the ticket. You know sometimes I just really want a 7-11 hot dog with mustard and raw onions drenched in chili and fake melted cheese. I know it's fake but god damn is it satisfying on a certain level. Like I can't justify liking it in logical terms--it's technically gross, mass-manufactured--but something about it warms my heart. I guess this sums up how I feel about local 7-11 shops everywhere: corporate but convenient and oddly satisfying on an ignorant, elementary level of thinking and feeling. That means I usually avoid shopping there but once every few months I go buy a chili cheese covered hot dog cos I'm hungry. But I can't forget how god damn fat American kids are getting by purchasing products that have a shit ton of sugar (hidden) in them, products they often find and buy in stores like these. But god damn those Doritos crunch bites were good when 7-11's were still making them.
