I have been a regular customer at this location since 1998. My first time not feeling be comfortable and respected by a employee.. So today I purchased a dew items and I have some soda cases at the bottom of basket I told Isaiah that I have two cases of soda do I have to place on belt or can he ring it up from where they are. Isaiah replied ge will come around and do it with the gun.. So I was rang up swipe my card and paid than the young man that bagged ny groceries asked Isaiah did he do the soda's? Me and Isaiah was small chatting and slipped our mind so he charged me for the two cases if soda I swipe my card Again I told Isaiah I already paid right now it went through so you may have to cancel the first transaction and I pay all over again.. So Isaiah said that the transaction didn't go through and now I swip my card its saying I don't have enough snap I explained I do that's strange so I said let's try again ge stated there is only 7 dollars not enough.. So I paid in cash and I told Isaiah when I get home to see what happened can I come back and u charge me in stamps and give me back my cash he said I see why not. so I did vome across a mistake my original transaction went through for 77 dollars and keft me with 7 dollars and some change so thats why I had not enough to purchase again.. I spoke yo a woman in the phone what happened said to go in bring receipt and then we can fix everything.. so I did Isaiah called a manager and her name was Keera It was horrible she wouldn't ket me explain she wanted me to purchase something to see me balance from card I did i got a soda now Keera wasn't letting me explain she would stop me and shut me up saying I was having a attitude abd to stop having a attitude with her I don't need to do that she wouldn't stop yelling at me about this I told Keera no im just explaining to you because you don't got it .. she kept saying I paid 77 and the balance is 7 and I was finished with the purchase. I told her no its not like that I need my 77 back on card I paid in cash because Isaiah didn't notice 77 dollars was already paid by first transaction and tried to make me pay again twice so she said she's putting 36 back on my card thats it I explained I need my cash back and 77 back on my card and i have to pay in snap and refund my cash back to me . She wasn't letting me talk nor would she do it so I asked for Isaiah helpto explain exactly what happened because Keera wasn't letting me tell her anything without being catty as this happened the young girl bagging with Glass and a braided pony tail was laughing at me and a guy cashier and all the workers started to give me didty looks and walk by me staring and laughing.. and say I was red in my face I wasn't yelling nor being rood til I seen that and ask why are they laughing at me ! ? someone made a mistake Im here to fix things and Im getting a bad time if it?? so now I get Isaiah to help he refunded me the 77 and the 36 if on my snap but As i left I noticed no one gave me back my cash so I went back but Isaiah went to lunch so I left and sent me boyfriend to talk because I explained to Keera I had great pain in my feet im disabled and had to walk there I had a scooter I rode but it had a flat tire so I had to walk it .. but I told Keera when I was trying to work with her its hard to explain im tired and in pain and she was not able to understand me and was telling me to move out her way when I walked away from her to find help because she was yo aggressive.. I sent my boyfriend to get my cash because I had enough with the experience there I didn't thank Isaiah he was super nice and helpful he was able to explain what happened to me with the transaction Keera tried to fight off the truth of the matter so Im not able to walk back Im in pain and I got really bothered by it all I was trying to stay calm but it was so much of the workers staring and talking amoung each other about me I didn't understand why they were being so loud and sarcastic towards me I consider the time I go spend shopping a nice peaceful experience not a place of bulling or me getting belittled I don't know uf I will go back to shop It really hurt me to see Keera treatment towards me dramatic and leing about me I was stunned and confused why was she acting like this and telling me to move and walking in front of me moving her body in front of me getting me out of her way so meanly.. I felt like a kid in elementary getting bullied by the crowd. Very disappointing experience at this location involving a simple product return. My mother attempted to return spoiled fish with a valid receipt from another Stater Bros store. The return process was initially started, but a manager stopped it before it was completed. After that, we were given inconsistent information from different employees. We were first told the return could not be processed, then later told it could be handled, and then told again it could not be done due to "security reasons." At one point, we were also told the system had flagged the return and that my mother was allegedly "flagged as fraud," which was extremely upsetting and inappropriate given there was no wrongdoing and the receipt was never even properly reviewed. We were sent back and forth multiple times, including being told to return again on another day, despite already coming in person to resolve the issue. The communication between staff, management, and security was inconsistent and confusing throughout the entire interaction. Overall, the experience felt poorly handled, unprofessional, and distressing. We were not given a clear explanation, and the situation escalated unnecessarily instead of being resolved calmly and consistently. read more

Plenty of parking, love that you can park so close to the entrance on cold days. They have an excellent seasonal floral section. The orchids are amazing and at a reasonable price. Recently I had an incident with the Deli manager, Laura H. Accused me of stealing 3 pieces of chicken. Was given the wrong pieces of chicken. The new employee(Nadia) did not know her product. After a heated discussion. The assistant store manager came out, Myra. Tried to side with both the employee and the deli manager. I told her I was going to report them to corporate. Said not to, because they were latinas and that would not look good for the store. I did report the incident. The area manager apologized. Said he would look into the matter. After, I spoke to the store manager, Adrian M. Said he was aware of the incident but sided with his employees and said there was nothing he could do, because of the union. Said I was calling him a bad manager. Well, I was told by the area manager there is something that can be done. Now when I go into the store, the assistant follows me as if I am going to steal. Maybe she look into out of code product and expires. I have been shopping at this store for over 40 years. I do not be or anyone else this way. Every Wednesday night my mom has a Bible study group at our house. Usually 13 to 20 people. She makes a full on dinner for them. My mom being Mexican usually she makes Mexican food. I am the one that helps her prepare for this event every week . I always want something different. Usually I'll pick some kind of Asian food . Today I came up with a Japanese vegetable curry. This Stater Brothers recently went through somewhat of a remodel. I've lived in Downey since 1998, and I've had my go of all the markets within our radius. I'm glad to see this market investing in itself. We do most of our shopping here, especially for the meat department. I'm one of those special people who loves liver, and that is not an item that's carried by many butchers. Surprisingly, I've had great luck finding it here, along with a variety of of other meats. Their in-house burger paddies are so good, and they have a great mix of sausages, and prepped ready to cook meats. Overall, this entire store is always well stocked. They have a cut-and-dice station that offers fresh ready to go veggies and fruits. Amazing idea! who likes to chop onions? Not me! Grab some pre-sliced veggies for a sauté, or pick up some fruit for your next gathering. The layout just works, I dont know how to explain it, but you have a sense of where everything is. I enjoy walking this market, and I love that for the most part they always seem to have a good ratio of cashiers to customers. Other places are pushing the self-check-out pretty hard. If I can make a small personal request to management, place fresh basil in your inventory. This is one those ingredients I find myself having to visit other markets for. Overall, this Stater Bros. is still a good option for groceries once in a while. Parking is plentiful. Clean, organized. Produce is mostly fresh. Meat & seafood counter can get SUPER busy, but as long as I pre-plan and pay attention to the sales I don't get frustrated. Good sales on wine. Low prices (not always, though) & no rewards card necessary. Employees are always nice & helpful, but I've been here enough times that they know be now. I prefer them all a hundred times over compared to the folks over at the nearby Albertson's. (I hate that store now.) BONUS: I love that they sell my birth state of New Mexico's Hatch chiles. read more
