I have shopped at Harris Teeter for several years, mostly because it's close to my house. Some…read morethings have bothered me for a while, however. They have a very poor bakery. They have no fresh bagels, and the cinamon rolls I bought some time back were inedible. Truly bad. Then, last night, I thought I'd try one of their pizzas. I took one bite and threw the rest of it away. Not just bad. I couldn't eat it. The produce department needs some work as well. Of the past 20 times that I went to get bananas, I could only find green bananas once. They are usually so ripe that if I don't plan to eat them the day of purchase, it would be pointless to buy them. It's sad, but I think I'll have to do most of my shopping at Giant.

Staff always seems content or happy, never flustered, mad, or disappointed. Staff are always very helpful when asked to assist with something. Decent prices on everything in-store. I highly recommend the rotisserie chicken from the deli section. The staff there are amazing and will let you know how long until the food is ready so you can come back or hang around and get it fresh. This deli sections "Boar's Head" meats display looked amazing, and was possibly the best display I have seen in a store for quite some time. The packages were all orderly and in nice rows, with nothing out of place. The TV above the display played a nice and cheerful product informational clip, and was very welcoming and clean.

It was an older style store in a somewhat questionable area of Woodbridge. Never saw one nice, genuine smile on any employee. I got my product fairly quick and went to check out. I chose this poor old lady who cracked a forced smile, but it seemed that she worked there for a certain reason. She seemed like she was trying her hardest. What almost made me walk straight out was this: Older Cashier Lady: "Hey Sarah, can you override a product for me." Manager: "Ha! (Lucy) did you hear THAT? This fool thinks my name is Sarah! Say my name! It's Sharice!" I may be getting the names mixed up, but you get the message, right? It is unacceptable! Let's just say I have no interest in going back! A manager has NO right to be rude and condensing to a poor elder working her butt off. Everyone forgets names more than once. So what? There is NO excuse for the manager to act the way she did in front of other customers! I wouldn't recommend this place, as I don't see success in the management team.

However what I don't particularly care for are the home goods and non-food items. Like lawn chairs and windshield squeegees. This things don't really make much sense to me in a store like this with limited space as it is. They also do not have pre-pared foods like most of their competitors carry. For example, a quart of Greek pasta or macaroni and cheese that you can just pop in the microwave and heat up. I did not see any Arizona iced tea, and extremely limited juice drinks. For those reasons, I would characterize this store as just fair. I come here to get the very basics to hat I need about once every two weeks, and I usually do not buy much more than that

They already had the chairs on top of the tables and the brooms ready to sweep the floors an hour before closing. As if that wasn't unwelcoming enough, no greeting, just looks like they definitely were not happy they were getting customers. No smiles, just scowls and Just barely asked nicely what we wanted.
