Very disappointed in this Food Lion. I get it may be the only grocer around, but that doesn't constitute bad employee attitudes. I only came in to pick up one item. It was an older style store in a somewhat questionable area of Woodbridge. Never saw one nice, genuine smile on any employee. I got my product fairly quick and went to check out. I chose this poor old lady who cracked a forced smile, but it seemed that she worked there for a certain reason. She seemed like she was trying her hardest. What almost made me walk straight out was this: Older Cashier Lady: "Hey Sarah, can you override a product for me." Manager: "Ha! (Lucy) did you hear THAT? This fool thinks my name is Sarah! Say my name! It's Sharice!" I may be getting the names mixed up, but you get the message, right? It is unacceptable! Let's just say I have no interest in going back! A manager has NO right to be rude and condensing to a poor elder working her butt off. Everyone forgets names more than once. So what? There is NO excuse for the manager to act the way she did in front of other customers! I wouldn't recommend this place, as I don't see success in the management team. read more

We shop at this Food Lion quite often, but it has been especially good to us during this virus pandemic. Although we have to pick up our groceries, we have twice had a young lady named Evelyn [shop for us] who is very efficient and friendly. This store has items that, believe it or not, we haven't been able to find at Wegmans. I highly recommend it. read more

Ok....So early last year the store started preparing for online shopping so they took the parking spots in front of the store??....they were doing something with the doors?...I guess new doors?....then, ...a few months later the inside is totally renovated new floors....everything is redone.....then...store closes because of power failure???...then floors were flooded??...strange ?....then even more parking spaces are taken???...I miss the old Food Lion.... read more

I would like to give a shout out to whoever within the Food Lion organization developed the restroom signage in the back of the store. Above the double doors that divide the more public shopping area from the product and receiving section there is a large three sided sign suspended from the ceiling clearly indicating customers are welcome to use the restrooms in the back. In addition, on the doors themselves there is another sign letting customers know to take a right turn once they enter the back to reach their necessary destination. Beyond that, yes another suspended directional sign, then large signage on, respectively, the men's and women's bathroom doors. All the above may seem minor but when you're in a hurry to reach the facilities there's no time to get lost. Not sure how this example of corporate thoughtfulness translates throughout the rest of the store, but I will say this Food Lion looked quite clean throughout. Thank you read more

I gave this company eight years of my life right out of college. I sort of blame them for my marriage not working since I was never home. As a former employee I sort of miss the job. I started in the projects and being a white male you can guess how stressful that was at times. But we had a lot of fun too. Its always fun chasing shoplifters in that area. Long hours were offset by good pay and excellent benefits. Their profit sharing plan requires no contribution on your part and I left with over 40k after only eight years. Two weeks vacation and a two week christmas bonus were nice. As a consumer I dont like their stores. They are targeted at middle to lower class so you get avg looking stores although I have seen a few with hardwoods throughout trying to compare to the Jones. Mostly their consumer card gives you cents off instead of really good deals. Their private label products are pretty good. Meats are horrible. I dont go near the market case unless Im in a jam and need something quick as they are right down the street. All in all a decent place to shop, a great place to work. read more

Good prices and adequate for most of my grocery needs.

This is the closest grocer to my house but I only go in for emergencies. This store has never been great, but seems to deteriorate more a little each day. The last few times I went in to pick a few things up I had to listen to someone behind me that was buying beer and apparently trying to fit as many swear words into his conversation as he could before he made it to the front of the line. It was a long wait. I am no prude, but children were in our line as well as the one right next to us. I've also had to deal with the person selling CD's inside the store. So it's not enough that I have to stop on my way home from work to pick up god knows what, but to then have to fend off someone selling CD's inside the store is beyond ridiculous. I have also run into the woman in the store with her child looking for money (more than once). When I offered to buy her and her child something to eat she said they needed money for rent. Seriously??? I do feel bad for the employees because they deal with this daily. The employees seem to be very nice and a job's a job, but wow. I thought with the new townhouses going up across the street on Featherstone they might try to change it up a bit, but I guess it's not to be. Oh and a couple of times I've gone in and saw armed security, it's not consistent, but every once in awhile. Add to that the individuals who park themselves on the grocery carts in front of the store to listen to music, talk loud and drink beer and all I can think of is how sketchy this area can be. read more

This is the closest store to my house, and while it doesn't have the selection of a Wegmans, it does just fine if I need something right away. The staff is generally friendly, and the store is well organized and well stocked. They have a decent selection of popular beers. Store is always clean, and looks much more snazzy after the remodeling. I do seem to often get held up in the checkout line behind someone paying with WIC/EBT, and I am not sure why since it is obviously something the employees deal with frequently, so I feel like they should not be so confused with the transaction. read more

I love this food lion I live a few blocks from here the staff is wonderful they greet you when you come in and when you go to there line. But the new people that management hired they are very disrespectful and they don't smile there in a rush very pushy they bag wrong there's one guy with dreadlocks he never smiles at all he looks like you're a bother to him I hate to go to his line so I will have to go stand in a long line just to avoid to be in his line. If you go late around closing time there cleaning crew is rude to I was in there Saturday night 1/21 and this Spanish man was buffing the floors and he kept looking at me evil then had nerve to try to run me over with his machine smh. Very disrespectful. I never moved so he went around me. read more

I am not quite sure about the shopping experience but their hearts are big! The manager of the store worked with our local school to help with a 5th grade event and a school fundraiser. They were easy to work with and extremely helpful. The store looked clean and the products they helped us with were extremely delicious. Thankful for managers that reach out into the community like this. read more
