It's a great place to go if you're heading southeast on route 30 and easy access to Caton Farm road too. Plenty of gas pumps, features everything you can expect at a gas station. Gas prices were good especially today where I paid $2.84 a gallon where other gas stations were 20 to 30 cents more. Bathrooms aren't the best. Probably not the best place to go too at night.

Simply because I like the one they have off Interstate 90 on your way to Rockford / Wisconsin. This location is miniscule compared to that location. It's ideal to come here heading west on Route 30 because if you're trying to go east and Route 30 or exiting to go east on Route 30 it's going to be a challenge. Unlike the other gas station off Interstate 90, this is only a gas station but has no hot food options at all or restaurants. It's just a giant glorified gas station. Staff here was friendly, fair selection of drinks and snacks. Staff here was friendly. Great place to come to if you're a trucker as well but it's a long walk from those fuel pumps to go inside the store. I give this place more of a two and a half Stars.

I only point that all out so I can say with some authority that after visiting Speedway locations in about 8 states, this is the most incredible station I've visited. It's in a great location (if you happen to live in Plainfield, which I don't) right on the Lincoln Highway (if you happen to know about that.) The station is huge with more pumps than I could count and a full truck stop area for 18 wheelers. The store is enormous with more selection than any Speedway I've visited before. The most unique feature of this particular store is a grill. Yes, a grill. Most Speedway locations have pizza and sandwiches, along with a roller grill and so does this one, but it has a grill! Food is cooked to order, which you place on a kiosk workstation. The computer gives you a confirmation which you take to the register. Once your order is paid for, the confirmation becomes a receipt and you simply wait for your number to be called. Incidentally, this Speedway had the lowest gas price I paid in the full length of Illinois on my trip. Yup, I'm a fan!

GAS-LIGHTING When…read morewas the last time you were furious at a Speedway? I've had a few days to cool down, though I'm still plenty ticked that this gas station duped me (and countless others) with fraudulent prices.  This Speedway is on S Lincoln Highway in Plainfield, IL but there's no reason you need to care about that. For at least a week, their billboard a few miles south on I-55 showed regular unleaded at $3.59/gal.  In reality, the price at the pump was $4.13/gal, a full 54¢ more than advertised.  How can that be so blatantly wrong??? 1 of 2 things happened: someone was asleep at the switch/sucks at their job/doesn't care (more likely), or they deliberately posted lower prices to lure customers in (less likely, more concerning).  Either way, it's pretty horseshit. The convenience mart was stocked out of cans of Arizona green tea, which I'd never seen before.  The counter was abandoned for a long time, and when a worker finally appeared, the guy was dropping stuff left & right and was clearly stoned out of his mind.  WTF? * TL;DR * This Speedway gas station and IN-convenience mart can suck a big one. I was so pissed about the gas bait-and-switch I emailed Speedway corporate to let them know what's up.  Wouldn't you know it, 2 days later they "fixed the glitch" and prices on the electronic billboard are now synced correctly.  Lotta good that does me now..... I went out of my way coming here in the hopes of saving up to $8 on gas (14 gal x 54¢).  Since that turned out to be a lie, I'm now going out of my way to give them the Yelp equivalent of a middle finger.  Fraud, shitty attitudes, no Arizona tea?  Most obvious 1-star review ever.  凸 (_) 凸

He frequently brought up politics, demographics, and "statistics" at work in ways that felt inappropriate and often came across as biased. It wasn't the kind of environment I expected from a workplace. I personally chose not to engage with these conversations because I was there to work, and I try to keep my personal beliefs separate from my workplace. However, being repeatedly exposed to these types of comments from management made the environment feel unprofessional. I also noticed that he would tell us certain employees had quit, but after speaking with those employees, I learned that was not always what happened. This made me feel like there was a lack of honesty and transparency in how situations were handled. One comment that really stuck with me was when he told me and another young female employee that we'd be prettier if we spoke more intelligently and that men would like us more. We are both very young girls, and that comment was incredibly inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. I was also told that if I came in early every day, I would receive a $1 raise. I did exactly that, and I received the raise on my final paycheck. Just a few days later, I was fired. It was confusing to be recognized with a raise and then immediately let go without being given a meaningful explanation. I was told I was being fired because I supposedly had an attitude with a customer. When I asked what had happened, I wasn't given a clear explanation and was simply told they had decided not to continue my employment. I work hard, take my jobs seriously, and I rarely leave negative reviews because I know everyone is trying their best. I didn't contact them afterward because I felt I had already been treated disrespectfully. After the way I was spoken to and the lack of honest communication, I didn't feel another conversation would have changed anything. As a customer, I also found the food to be average, especially for the price. Before I even worked here, my mom and I had cheesecake from the café on a few different occasions, and every time it had a noticeable freezer-burn taste. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. Based on my experience as both an employee and a customer, I would encourage people to support another family-owned café instead.
