Just your typical place to go for snacks and such. The 24 hour aspect is awesome when you have late night munchies!! I love Slurpee's!!!!!

I have the Cinnamon Kookie Butter Chai Latte and it was delicious, sad they don't offer it in a bigger size cup. Lol. But it's a must try if you are unsure what to get. He frequently brought up politics, demographics, and "statistics" at work in ways that felt inappropriate and often came across as biased. It wasn't the kind of environment I expected from a workplace. I personally chose not to engage with these conversations because I was there to work, and I try to keep my personal beliefs separate from my workplace. However, being repeatedly exposed to these types of comments from management made the environment feel unprofessional. I also noticed that he would tell us certain employees had quit, but after speaking with those employees, I learned that was not always what happened. This made me feel like there was a lack of honesty and transparency in how situations were handled. One comment that really stuck with me was when he told me and another young female employee that we'd be prettier if we spoke more intelligently and that men would like us more. We are both very young girls, and that comment was incredibly inappropriate and made us uncomfortable. I was also told that if I came in early every day, I would receive a $1 raise. I did exactly that, and I received the raise on my final paycheck. Just a few days later, I was fired. It was confusing to be recognized with a raise and then immediately let go without being given a meaningful explanation. I was told I was being fired because I supposedly had an attitude with a customer. When I asked what had happened, I wasn't given a clear explanation and was simply told they had decided not to continue my employment. I work hard, take my jobs seriously, and I rarely leave negative reviews because I know everyone is trying their best. I didn't contact them afterward because I felt I had already been treated disrespectfully. After the way I was spoken to and the lack of honest communication, I didn't feel another conversation would have changed anything. As a customer, I also found the food to be average, especially for the price. Before I even worked here, my mom and I had cheesecake from the café on a few different occasions, and every time it had a noticeable freezer-burn taste. For the prices they charge, I expected much better quality. Based on my experience as both an employee and a customer, I would encourage people to support another family-owned café instead.

Review Visit: May 27th, 2015…read more Gloria Jeans coffee is glorious. After a whirlwind day up in the windy city, my friend and I needed something with some kick to get us the rest of the way home. We reached Joliet after leaving Chicago and knew we needed some caffeine. Now, the chain of events that ended with us at Gloria Jeans at like 8pm during the week in a mall are fuzzy... but they were open and we were there. I've been to Gloria Jeans before but the one near me closed around the time my travel list started. I had been having withdraws for the sugary drinks they sling here, so it was convenient we found one on our route home. My friend had never had it before and she had no idea what was about to hit her taste buds. My go-to drink is the most popular drink on the menu. Its the White Chocolate Caramel Cookie Chiller. That's a mouthful. Occasionally, I will order the wrong drink and that is the Ultimate Cookie Espresso. Both are delicious but my preferred choice is the first one mentioned above. During this trip, my friend ordered the WCCC so I ordered the UCE. I let her sample mine and I got to try hers. I knew what I was in for but she did not. If you've never had Gloria Jeans. Do not go there if you are counting calories. My gosh, these drinks are not healthy for you at all. What they lack in being nutrition they make up for in flavor and sugar and carbs. This isn't like your specialty drink at Starbucks or Dunkin'. No. This place specializes in making these near-milkshake-level of caffeinated beverages. You will feel disgusted with yourself after you are done. You will experience a sugar crash afterwards. You will love every second and every sip as you start that decline to hating life. This is exactly what we experienced on our drive home. Luckily I cut myself off before hitting the bottom of the cup but my friend... she made the mistake and downed the entire thing. She passed shortly after we hit the road. If you find yourself needing a change up from your specialty drink from another coffeehouse, give Gloria Jeans a try. They tend to be located in malls and those are dying off; if yours is located in a mall, get there and try it out before your mall potentially closes down. You'll regret it but you won't at the same time. They do offer more than just the gut-busting, sugar-laden drinks mentioned above, but I have yet to try them. So if the above doesn't suit your taste buds, they do have other offerings to tempt your taste buds.

Not quite the same flavor, but I'm not that picky. Had no sleeve or double cup so I wouldn't burn my fingers. After about an hour of waiting for Hobby Lobby to open, I had a bathroom emergency and realized I wouldn't be able to wait the extra 15 minutes for the store to open and I couldn't remember if the store even had a bathroom. Wasn't going to take the chance. Drove back to Starbucks and their bathrooms have a door lock on them. Not sure if it's to make sure you're a paying customer or because of the area to keep homeless out? I turned around to go up to the desk and a barista shouted numbers, then someone sitting down repeated the numbers again kind of in an annoyed way. Since I didn't see the person sitting down, I wasn't sure if they were talking about a WiFi password or talking to me since I hadn't said anything yet. I asked if it was for the bathroom, they said yes, so then I was able to enter the code and use the bathroom. I had the receipt on my phone if they needed proof of purchase. I just used the bathroom and ducked out of there embarrassed. Only took off one star because I didn't know the reason for the bathroom situation and it made me feel embarrassed. Felt like the staff thought I was using the bathroom for free without buying anything by the tone of voice. But, that's why I order mobile walk-in orders so I don't need to socially interact like that, less issues that way. Never been to a Starbucks with bathrooms locked, but this is a new building so maybe it's the new thing.

Strong and subtly sweet, this coffee is wildly good. They have a bunch of milk alternatives, along with many popular flavoring offerings to choose from. I went with an iced latte and added some lavender syrup. Their lavender syrup was divine. It was sweet, floral, and slightly earthy. It didn't taste artificial, which is a relief. I also got some of their pastries. Specifically the Pan De Bono Bocadillo and the Pastel Dulce. Starting with the Pan De Bono Bocadillo, I was excited to try this. The pros, love the guava filling. It's bright, acidic and subtly sweet. The dough though, it was fine. It is very buttery, but tough. My eyes were not rolling in the back of my head, which is what I like my pastries to do. Next was the Pastel Dulce. The filling, so sweet, a touch of salt. Very decedant. Where the pastry itself was a little on the dry side. Still flaky though. Maybe the pastries would be better if I got them in store, instead of sitting in a car being delivered. Overall, great coffee shop. Glad to see more cultural variety in our food scene out here.
