In the Little Italy arwa you have great places with some of the best in dinning and bistros. The stores close distance tp the trolley you can get the cold dronks with the big hot dogs. The store is one that has extra staff with helping customers and gettong pizzas ready the store is obe that has served the most pizza and getting pizzas cooked the prices are good for pizza. The customer service they have with the great selection of drinks many of them have some of thd best bargains. Many of the stpres that I have been to have been the ones that gave free drinks having the best flavors that when it got hot there wascspecial prices. The phrase you remember Oh Thank Heaven its 711 the stores had the best bargains the many different and the favorite Ice Creams. Many people remember 711s is the best place you could the best for ball games and the evening baseball. Taking my lunch et at the 711 getting the fabulous tuna sandwich with potatoe chips they have the bezt sandwiches. Not good is right. It was a very short walking distance from our hotel so I went here a couple of times. 1) Too much nonsense outside every time I came here. It's either a gaggle of homeless people or another time it was a bunch of adults on bicycles just hanging out directly in front of the door like it was their backyard. I just bought a chicken sandwich and took a bite of it, and it was what I think not cooked fully because the meat patty was soft but I could not bite through. I work close by so I brought it back to show the lady and see if I can switch it out. The Indian lady with a name that starts with M (supervisor) told me to go microwave it. A little confused but I thought I would entertain her and try. I microwaved it in a very dirty microwave filled with some sort of liquid to take a bite and still could not bite through. I asked if I can switch it out for a slice of pizza and she said they were different prices. I let her know the pizza is 50 cents cheaper and I don't want the difference I just want something edible. After refusing for a while and telling me her sandwiches are fresh she finally decided to switch it out with a pizza. She didn't want to though. Holy gourmet coffee businessman! The days of crappy convenience store coffee with the only options of regular or decaf are long gone...at least at this particular 7-11. Besides the usual suspects (dark, medium and decaf) now there are all kinds of flavored brews too, for instance blueberry (who knows what unpronounceable chemical compounds are used to create the flavor, but it's an option if you're into it). They also offer what is called fusion defense coffee infused with echinacea, ginseng and astragalus; again nutritional value questionable (does the FDA regulate coffee?) but with those herbal remedies i imagine it's the equivalent to dropping a tablet of Airborne into your coffee cup. Also absent from the new and improved coffee island...powdered creamer. In its place a variety of condiments are at your service: containers of whole, 2%, 1%, nonfat milk, flavored creamers and even the flavored syrups are at the ready to make your coffee creation a masterpiece if you are so inclined. Happy to report prices are still low despite all of the fancy enhancements. Coffee aside, this 7-11 has almost everything a grocery store would, like pet food to name one example. Keep in mind the prices on these products reflect the convenience of a..well..a convenience store; however if one wants it quick and easy, most will shell out a few extra shillings. Meal offerings have expanded to ridiculous proportions...while the standard hot dog cooker is present; there are strategically injected cheese dogs, and other wiener looking products, even taquitos can be found rolling round in that cooker these days. Plus there is a "freshly made section" where you can buy a variety of sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, even hard boiled eggs. I must say this place is greatly appreciated as indicated by the masses of business folk filtering out of the sky rises in the area and bolting directly to this 7-11. Employees are friendly, they open registers when there's a long line (almost always), and they always seem to be fully stocked. One thing I'm not a fan of is the ATM. I went in once to withdraw some cash, but it didn't spit up my money. I told one of the cashiers and he said that they knew; I wasn't the first to complain about the machine not working. So, how about an "Out of order" sign, then?! I ended up calling the number on the machine to try to figure things out. The recording said to call my bank. I called my credit union and was told that the money I withdrew was still in my account, as if nothing had happened. Generally this is a slid 7-Eleven. It's big, well stocked, coffee is always very fresh and is kept clean. Knock off a few stars for a consistent issue. There is almost always a long line to pay. Even when more than 1 person is working, there is just one cashier. So you can expect to wait in line for awhile unless yore lucky that no one is at the register. My boyfriend and I were in town from LA for one night. We stayed around the corner at The Guild Hotel. My boyfriend and I walked to this 7 Eleven to get something to snack on. We were arm in arm as we walked up to the door. As I reached for the door handle, a man inside the store held the door shut. I had no idea what was going on at this point. Then other people walked up behind us and the man inside opened the door and told them to come in. Still confused, I said "we were here first" then, the man said, "you faggot aren't coming in here". WOW! So there it was. We stood there in disbelief watching as he continued letting people in the store and locking the door behind them. Through the glass door, the man told us that he had called security to come talk to us. I thought that sounded like a good idea and I decided to call the police. I explained everything to the operator and she said officers were coming. The security guard arrived and told us that he knows we didn't do anything and the man inside who's name is ABRAHAM doesn't like gays, blacks and homeless people and he often pulls this routine. We stood outside for an hour with the kind security guard waiting for the police to come. Watching person after person arrive and be let into the store and the door locked behind them. A sweet woman bought us pizza and water while we were waiting. The police never came and I didn't want this man to have any more influence on my night, so we walked back to our hotel. I called and reported all this to 7 Eleven corporate but have not heard back yet. I have all this on video and plan to pursue this to the fullest extent against 7 Eleven and ABRAHAM personally. I have screen captures of similar complaints from other Yelpers talking specifically about ABRAHAM. My boyfriend and I took plenty of video documenting ABRAHAM opening the door and locking it to prevent us from entering. 7-Eleven has made a huge mistake not taking care of him sooner. Very slow, inefficient service! Every time I come here, I see the workers being inefficient. For example, one cashier during the morning rush? seriously? 3 during the afternoon rush? I've seen workers stocking the shelves instead of taking care of the 6-8 people in line for the single cashier. I would say, stay away if you can! Although, most of us probably go there because it is right next to the trolley station and we probably work near by. It is not a convenient convenient store!
