Am I nuts or what. Two 7-Eleven reviews in the same week. Oh well, let's just say I am anxious to…read moreboost my "first to review" #'s and provide information about this business. This store is located just enough off of Shore Dr. and Pleasure House Rd. that few even know it's even there unless your local to CXB. This 7/11 is right behind Walgreens and just never seems busy. That of course always makes me wonder if this store will survive with two other stores in the chain within two miles, a WaWa and Walgreen's across the street. Even though this location is closer to me than others, I use it less frequently. I will usually utilize WaWa across the street first to be honest. The strip that this stores sets on has a Chanello's pizza on the opposite corner. The lot is kept up and on my most recent visit an older man was sweeping up. Unfortunately, he was also taking his smoke break at the same time as he worked. Having a ton of firewood out on the front walk for sale makes me question the managers sanity. This 7-Eleven does not have fuel service which is usually representative of smaller square footage store and that is the case here. It is quite obvious that this is a dated store when you look around. However, it is clean and well organized and gets a pass by my scrutinizing eyes. The deli case is smaller than other stores and it appears overall to be less inventory on the shelves which would make sense. One thing that they do not have a shortage of it beer and wine which I imagine due to it's location close to the beach and moves well. A glaring difference for me is the coffee. They have the pots on the Bunn maker unlike the large containers in upgraded stores. The taste is the same, so no issues other than it is easier to dispense the coffee from the containers. The service has been spotty at times. On my most recent visit in the early AM I was not acknowledged at all. The clerk was too busy moving stock from the back room onto the shelves. When it was time to check out it was fine, but nothing exciting making me want to come back. Other times it has been better. This location gets the job done for a quick coffee visit. But nothing for me to get excited about. I would not go out of your way.

The parking lot is more than adequate. Location is prime with a centralized spot on Lookout Road. It's within walking distance of all of Chick's Beach, serving both residents and tourists in beach rentals. It's extremely convenient for those spending a day on the beach who don't want to lose their street parking spot. :) I'm sure Jr. Markets will still be serving Chic's Beach for decades to come.

They get 1 star from me for being local and surviving in the world of chain convenience stores. Located in the center of Chicks Beach business district one block from the beach. They have nice parking that I found the lot debris free. If you park illegally to enjoy a beach day your car will be towed. The store does not offer fuel. Jr. Markets offer strictly convenience items such as smokes, fountain drinks, beer, wine and miscellaneous food items. As I found out today no coffee by the pot, it's out of a machine...just NO! Expect prices to be more than a full service grocery which should not shock anyone. I found the store clean and neat and the staff I interacted with friendly. After residing within walking distance for years I have not found the need to be a regular whatsoever. But convenience is the key and if you need it they may just have it.

But it is surrounded by development. There's absolutely no room for expansion. In the mid 80's, before the internet, it was the closest spot to get the Sunday editions of the Washington Post & New York Times. You had to be there early. Those papers sold out quickly. It's been a long time since I've been inside the store itself. My reason for choosing this spot was that it was the last day before my 7-Eleven Rewards fuel discount expired. There was no doubt that I would use this location. The App has started highlighting the 7-Eleven with the lowest price. Normally most in the Independence Corridor have the same price. But I noticed while doing errands that a 7-Eleven where I stop often had a pump price of $4.04. This location was $3.99. Since I had a 45 cents discount my price per gallon was a discounted to an amount that would have made me gasp a few months ago. My tank wasn't even near empty. But that wasn't a discount that could be missed.
