I've now come back to Aldi's after many years for the purpose of selective healthier shopping at a bargain price. I was never really a supportive customer as I found them too limited. Flash forward seven years later and friends have been telling me to go back. It's helped too that our kids are now out of the house. Friends swore their organic produce alone is worth it. But other items as well like their own healthier line "Specially Selected". I found the store clean and organized as I shopped for specific healthier options. When you walk in your greeted with the produce department that I was immediately impressed with. They offer a lot and you can choose non organic, or a bit pricier organic. The prices specifically on organic are more reasonable than Trader Joe's, Wegmans, or Kroger that I regularly visit. I also found their "Specially Selected" line on the bread aisle. Not just one, but several types from ciabatta and whole wheats. Also Ambrose bread for cheesesteaks that's harder to find. Ok not as healthy but yum! Other items Two Good yogurt and organic milk both more reasonable than other stores. They offer much more, but I thought highlighting a few of Aldi's healthier items would bring exposure to the grocer. I was disappointed with healthier choices with can foods. I will be back for sure, but only for limited items. read more

I just love looking around this store. Produce always looks really nice and fresh. Snacks, ice cream, cookies & crackers. I found some great bargains the last time I stopped by. The store is clean and spacious. Check out lines are never long at all but you do have to bring your own bags and after check out, you move to a bagging area where you bag your purchases. If you forget your bags, they do have some for purchase. Shopping carts are available but do require a quarter deposit that you get back upon returning the cart to the location it came from. read more

Prices are good and products carried are top notch. Service has deteriorated somewhat often sale stock depleted and staff short handed and store displays and appearance sometimes require improvement. read more

Without giving it a try, I had already made up my mind that I wouldn't like this supermarket. I had heard that you had to bag your own food. And even worse, the only way to obtain a shopping cart was with a quarter deposit. Then you had to return the cart to get your money back. What a bummer!! I like service with a smile, preferably the great stores with hardwood floors, classical music & clerks that take your food choices out of the cart for you. Even the German blood running through my veins, complements of my great grandmother, hadn't temped me to venture into another part of town to sample the store's selections. What a surprise it was to see an Aldi's sign at a construction site next to my rheumatologist on First Colonial Road. Stopping by the infusion room on my way out I chatted with someone and mentioned "Did you see the Aldi's being built next door?" She had but said it wasn't nearly as big as the one on Shore Drive. Shore Drive..... Where? Bayside Shopping Center was the answer, almost in walking distance from my house. Well.... actually in walking distance for the more able bodied I stopped on my way home. The store was spacious with wide aisles. It was clean and brightly lit. The shopping center's parking is convenient and plentiful. I decided to walk every aisle. Their selection was limited. But I was delighted to find some organic veggies for an unbelievable price. They even had my baby arugula and spinach mix. The paper goods seemed to be priced at a "come hither" level. Milk prices were similar to other chain stores. I saw no prepared "ready to cook" dishes that I love to purchase from the high end grocers. Bringing my own bags won't be a problem. I carry an ample supple in my vehicles all the time. Save the planet!! Plus they are much easier to carry into the house than plastic or paper. The only stumbling block left was how the carts worked. I saw no place to pay or return. So I stood and watched a lady take a cart. She explained exactly how it worked. Put a quarter in a slot in the cart itself. When you push the cart back into the line of carts and reattach the chain, it returns your quarter. I will return for salad fixings and paper goods. And I'll make a slower pass down the aisles for more bargain items. It won't be my "go to" store. But it is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

I was on my way home from work and happened upon this grocery store! Apparently, it is German in origin, so you know it has to be good! It is somewhat drab as you enter, but then you see an assortment of every possible food everywhere!! So then you understand why their prices are so great! You're there for the food, not so much for the ambiance. They have German chocolate bars, organic potato chips, sweet potato chips, apple pies, carrot cakes, etc. They even have vegetables, basic produce, meats, mostly organic, and milk products, including ice cream and gelato, all at ridiculously low prices! They have toiletries, cleaning agents, toilet paper, water, tea, soda, and even wine and other alcohol! They also sell toys and limited articles of clothing, such as under garments, socks, and leggings. Still, a pretty comprehensive amount of sundry items, just like a general store, but better!! A word of caution though! As always, don't go shopping, especially when you're hungry!!! read more

My quick errand weekly run place of choice! Unfortunately, every time I'm here, I only have a few minutes so I try to maximize my time and get everything I need ASAP. Which at first was a bit confusing since their aisles are set differently from the First Colonial location, where I used to go more often. After several weeks, I now have this place down! Wine - cheap and yummy; quick game day snacks - cheap and plenty of options. And gallons of water for $0.79!! Just don't forget to bring your own bags ;) read more

I save a lot of money at ALDI! ALDI has a fairly big selection of items that I shop for. I will say that their chips suck. They have a decent ever changing selection of beer at great prices. Decent wine for next to nothing. Really good breads at fair prices. Decent prices on meats and deli cheeses. Cheap no name cereal and almond milk. Expensive Coke products that I usually buy elsewhere. Decent fruits and veggies at good prices. Great ice cream at fair prices, and decent ice cream at bargain bin prices. They have nowhere near the choices of the big stores, but they have all the staples. I've only ever shopped at the Shore Drive location, so at least this store has great employees. The employees are great. Even when the line looks long it takes no time. Their bar codes are huge and scanning is very fast. Make sure that you have a quarter for the shopping cart, and have your own bags. This is a fine grocery store... read more

Aldi has been a hit and a miss with me. Everything in aldi is reasonable cheaper than most grocery stores. A lot of their products are organic. I love the fact that going there I can save half of what I'd usually spend at places like Wal-Mart. The reason it's a miss for me is because they advertise fresh produce. Well a lot of the time their produce isn't as fresh. Some produce you have to look through to find some decent looking ones because a lot of them have that nasty gooey texture. I will continue to go because their prices are just that great and you can find quality things there. as for produce if I don't see any fresh ones I'll just have to make a second trip and go to the commissary Oh and don't forget to bring a quarter for the carts read more

What a wonderful addition to our shopping choices. Be sure to have a quarter with you to release a shopping cart. When you return it you will get that quarter back so I suggest you keep that silver piece in a special place in your car. What a smart engineering idea, no need to hire anyone to retrieve those carts. Also bring your own bags, I suggest putting them back in your trunk when you empty them. A bag will cost you, another brilliant idea. Oh, and be prepared to bag your own groceries after check out. These people know how to cut costs.. For all your efforts you will find canned tomatoes for 45 cents. Nope, don't know where that cent sign is on my keyboard. Yogurt for 25 cents....I can go on and on but I think you get my point. For a few more efforts on your part you get a lower grocery bill. For all you Gluten Free peeps out there (I have been for a year and feel so much better) try their GF raisin bagels, delicious! read more

Aldi is pretty straight to the point, which I really like. The prices are great, the staff is very helpful, and even though they may not be as big as your typical grocery story, Aldi has a wide variety items. This particular location has good parking and is in a good spot. read more

I kind of really like the store, now you're not going to find everything you need for all of your grocery shopping but you will find a lot of things that you do need, now they may not be the brands you are used to but the prices sure are good and so is the quality. My favorite place to shop! Prices are 90% of the time much cheaper than you would find elsewhere. Don't be afraid to try the Aldi brand either, they're own version of things are still good quality. Bring a quarter for the cart and your own bags (however they do sell bags at the checkout if you forgot or need to buy more). This isn't somewhere you would be able to do all your shopping at because of the size and selection of merchandise; but what you can get here is awesome. read more

The people at this location are not help. I wanted to say that before I say that I love aldis and lidl! They are the only places i go to get my groceries anymore. I will no longer be going to this aldis. Every time I go here I'm talk to rudely and Im noticing today that i can never get a cart! That is the most confusing part, cause I'm pretty sure I need a cart to shop. My advice is, be nicer cause its your job and make the cart more accessible! read more

If you're the type that is too good to bag your own groceries and complain that you have to take your cart back to get your whole quarter back this store is most definitely not for you. God forbid you put your own groceries in your bags. Lord have mercy you have to actually walk the cart back to where it belongs. I've only been in this store a handful of times but each time I've had a great experience. Shelves stocked, always found what I was looking for and even found things I wasn't looking for. The cashiers and managers were professional and friendly. The store was always clean and well lit. I've never had a problem with the quality of any of the items I bought. I don't go there too often anymore because there is one closer now in the Janaf area. Which is just a stellar as the Shore Drive store. Some of the prices on produce aren't as low as Lidl but I've never had to return any of my produce from Aldi for being rotten. read more

I love shopping here. The only complaint is that they need more then one cashier open. You have to wait to see if cashier will ask for back up. If they do then sometimes they never show to help. read more
