Got recommended by Total Offroad & More off of Westheimer for an engine bay cleaning after doing some off-roading in Galveston for Memorial Day Weekend. I wish I took photos, but this will have to do. 713 Steam's services made my vehicle go from a beat-up-run-down piece of junk to a vehicle fit to be sold for the highest price possible. My vehicle was my personal vehicle since college and I have been using it to ferry my kayak around as I am a huge kayak fisherman. Over time, the salt air, salt water, fishing gear, and neglect, permeated throughout the car. The stains had stains on them, the air was kinda funky (or so I was told by my wife), and the vehicle overall was not in good condition. I did not want to take other people around in my vehicle. Recently, I got a truck, which is way better for my hobby, and this vehicle had to go! I priced it out to sell for around $3,500 at the most based upon the sorry shape and condition it was in. On a whim, I did some research and settled on 713 Steam for the showroom cleaning which included the interior clean and exterior clean. While their arrival was a bit later than scheduled, he was professional and get in touch with me every step of the way. He pointed out stuff that he couldn't get out (like I said, stains on stains) and for me that was ok. In the end, just from a cursorary glance, the vehicle looked like it had just come off the factory floor. I decided to bring the vehicle to CarMax and see how much they would offer the vehicle for. I can see why these guys have a perfect 5 star rating, even after so many reviews. I was originally only looking for a car wash that was mobile, exterior only while I sit in the car or, as a last resort, an automatic machine (since we're still in the grips of the coronavirus). I was researching their website when a chat window popped up even though it was Saturday. Whenever I get my car washed, I also always ask about high calcium lime removal because I work in commercial real estate and can't find a company who even knows what that is, much less guarantees they can get it off. The last quote I got was from a gentleman who saw my Jeep in person, wasn't sure what lime was, and quoted $800 for *potential* removal. But April from 713 Steam didn't even hesitate over the lime removal and quoted me only $250 sight-unseen, as well as answering all my questions patiently, politely, and promptly. They're a detail shop so don't offer basic car washes but I could add a basic interior cleaning for $25 since they were also coming out for the lime removal. Since I live less than 5 miles from their shop, they offered me mobile service at no extra charge, which is ideal in these pandemic times, and they could come as soon as noon the next business day! They confirmed via email and the gentlemen who arrived was also very polite, on time, and took exactly as long as predicted. He got all the lime off (splattered specks on one side of my vehicle), including a few more spots we saw after he moved it into different light. He answered all my questions and said I could bring it back if I later spotted something he overlooked. He didn't even make a face when I accidentally tipped him less than 20% at first due to my bad math, lol. (Don't worry, I fixed it.) Another guy who took my payment over the phone was also very nice. I didn't attach any pics because the inside was pretty clean to begin with and the outside just looked like a standard dirty car, lol. For the service I needed, the devil was in the details, which pics couldn't do justice to. As I mentioned, they don't do basic washes as a standalone service so I'll still need to visit my regular hand-wash place for that, but I will definitely be coming to 713 Steam for their $80 detail when I want more than a cursory once-over. My first time using 713 and i think the guys did a pretty good job. They were on time, super nice and got done fast but I think that might've been some of the issue. The interior is nicely done and they took care of the stains i asked them to. There were only a few still dusty spots and small vacuum spots that they missed and i wouldve liked the wheather mats to be a little cleaner but overall a very good job. The truck itself was nice and shiny but they left spots on all my rims and didn't wash under the wheel wells. I would use them again but won't get the platinum package. read more
