My Ford Edge was living on the edge with how dirty it was. Over the weekend I had taken a trip to East Texas and lets just say... that red clay was everywhere. My tires were even looking red. So, I put out the word on Yelp that I was looking for a mobile car washer since making it to someone during work hours is darn near impossible for me. A few car wash businesses replied, but for some reason Derek's stood out. So, I thought... let me give them a shot. Let's see what they are made of. I knew that it was going to be a chore to get that red clay off of my car. After going back and forth a few times with all the details, I met Derek's Mobile Car Wash at my apartment during my lunch break. Since I had to get back to work ASAP, I left my car in their hands and headed back. I did feel kind of weird leaving my keys and my car with total strangers, but it really needed to be cleaned. Inside and out. Some time passed and then I get the phone call... you know the one where they tell you that your car is cleaned. I didn't have super high hopes because they cleaned my car without an outside water source or electricity. They were nice enough to bring my car up to the office for me so that I didn't have to take an Uber back home to get it. When I was waking up to my car I was in total shock. The car looked brand new on the outside. Like it had just came off the showroom floor. It looked GREAT! But I was thinking there's NO WAY that they got the inside as clean. NO WAY!!! I couldn't wait to open the doors and check it out. Once again, I was in total shock. It looked like it had never even been driven. It was so clean you could eat off the seats. It also smelled GREAT! I requested service through this company and they were supposed to come at 8am this morning. I could have worked from home today but came to the office bc I made an appointment with Derek's Mobile car wash before I knew we could. So 8:00 rolls No call, no show and didn't respond to my messages. Now it's 9am and still haven't heard anything. As soon as I posted a review my phone began blowing up and begging to make it right. After I had the day to think about it I realize mistakes happen and decided to give them another chance. Edit: They offered to make it up to me and I was hesitant but they offered me a discount and I decided to reschedule. The morning of the appointment they called me (the lady sounded like she just woke up) 30 min before they were supposed to arrive and said that my location is an hour away and they couldn't do it at the time they scheduled (and begged for) and they wanted to reschedule for Saturday. Apparently, they didn't check the distance the first or second time they booked the appointment. This is unfortunate because I work at a school and many of my coworkers were excited to see their work and talked about doing a signup for car detailing but I don't trust this company to be reliable. Not only was I double booked and asked to reschedule when I was rescheduled he arrived late. When he arrived he claimed that when he put the address in he didn't realize how far it was. Personally I feel that should have been planned ahead of time. Then he arrived at 8:40am I had plans that afternoon for lunch and that evening. Online it states the service I received should be around 3 & 1/2 hours. He was not complete with the service until 3:15pm almost a total of seven hours. Mind you he had my key in my car for a majority of the time and my battery was dead when I tried leaving shortly after he was done. Honestly I would have been totally fine until I realized things had not been completed. Double check his work prior to him leaving SERIOUSLY. He cleaned out his vacuum or some sort of equipment and left all the trash in our flower bed. read more

I highly recommend Derek's MCW! I found his listing on Yelp and decided to try it out even though other companies had more ratings. I'm so glad I did. This was a gift for hard working parents. I wish I had taken pics before, but I just got after. Let me tell you it is 1000% better. It was easy to make the appointment, Victor was really responsive and after the initial meet on Yelp, we communicated by text. He arrived within the window of time specified and was ready to work. The car I had done was a challenge to say the least. 2 small children and lots of eating in the car had the carpet and upholstery filthy with dried food, formula, and Houston mud and dirt. Victor pulled out the back seat and worked for a solid 3 hours. The car looked like new. He prefers to make appts by text and his cell, but you can definitely use Yelp messenger and please have a designated outlet for him to use, so that there isn't a mix-up like the one mentioned in one of the reviews. I finally decided to get my car detailed. I requested quotes, I chose Derek's because he had an estimate flat rate of $139. I checked out his reviews and I was sold. I waited a week for my appointment. When the time came for my appointment, he let me know that he'd be about an hour late, so I'm thinking he is makes sure he does a good job. Well he was over an hour and a half late. So I just knew my vehicle was going to shine. He did a pretty good job on the inside, except the seats were still wet so I was supposed to leave my car outside with the doors open for about 2 hours running my battery down. Oh did I forget to mention that he said he had to leave so he couldn't wash the outside of my car, and I specifically said that there was dog hair that needed to be removed well guess what there is still dog hair. I don't have time to post pictures after all I need to go to the carwash to get my car washed after spending $130 for it to be detailed. After the seats dry. Oh yeah did I mention the wasp? I'll save that for another time. Update: I left my car outside for a couple of hours, when I drove my car into the garage, my seats were still wet I left the doors open and later left the windows down. The next day I smelled a hint of mildew so took it back outside for a couple more hours. This morning the smell was worse, and when I sat in the seat it was still wet. read more
