My wife and I have been coming here for a long time. More when we lived closer. Now, we have to go out of our way to eat here. Always a very good experience. On Friday night, May 15 coming home from Lake Geneva we took rte 14 specifically so we could stop here, sans reservation. Sat at the bar and kibitzed with bartender, Kyle. My wife had Tagliatelle al Bosco which she raved about and I had my often go-to, pizza. In a moment of insanity I added anchovies. Pizza was, as usual, very good if not extra salty. Not their fault, mine. Kyle recommended the dessert of something ('Italian-sounding') fried, with very mild cheese inside which was terrific. Had a very good time, as usual. I enjoy this place. Went here after my mom and her friend raved about it and I was in town wanting Italian. We sat in the bar so that we could order off the happy hour menu. We ordered the bruschetta and charcuterie board off the happy hour. The charcuterie board was just a meat & cheese board- it was good but don't except something grand. The bruschetta was delicious, some of the best. I love that the toast is thin so you can taste the tomatoes and cheese more. For main entrees my mom got the chicken parmigiana with rigatoni noodles and I got the lobster ravioli with no spinach. I loved the lobster ravioli and will go back just for this dish. First time here and did a take out order. I had to wait 5 minute for someone to come to the front podium to let them know I was waiting for it to go order. They went in the back, came out a few minutes later and said my order wasn't ready yet, which was already five minutes after the time that I was told it would be ready. I got my order and I was surprised at the portions were not very good but headed on my way. Halfway to my house I realized I'm probably missing something with my order and then realized that the tiramisu was never given to me when I came back. I had to wait another five minutes for the hoes to come assist me go back in the back in five minutes later than I got the tiramisu that we never given to me when I picked up. not too sure what happened here, but this experience is a complete flop and feel on top of it. Their prices are severely overpriced for what you get. Food was mediocre. Service was poor and was difficult to park near here. My review is a no go ... do not come here. I do a lot of views and I always try to be fair. I just can't support my experience with anything above a one star. read more

Every time my family comes here we always can count on good service and a good meal. My husband and I came on a whim during the week and got exactly what we expected. Our server was chatty, super friendly, and willing to make recommendations. We started with a glass of wine each which was our customary so nothing out of the ordinary there, but they do have a good extensive wine list for an Italian restaurant. Nothing over-the-top because it's not a wine bar, but it has plenty to offer when it comes to all types of wine (red, white, sparkling, etc). We split dinner and know that there is a surcharge for splitting a plate (minimal two dollars). We had the chicken Alfredo and it was good although the one thing I thought the chicken was premade so it didn't taste fresh like a piece made-to-order would have been. We split a Caesar salad, which is always delicious because it has shaved Parmesan on top and great Caesar dressing (not sure if it's homemade or not). Know that there's a bread basket that comes prior to dinner which has olives, olive oil and Parmesan cheese for your plate to dip your bread into. Don't eat too much because dinner is filling. After dinner, my husband and I went into the bar area on the other side to have a after dinner drink and dessert I had cannoli and he had a cappuccino. I was disappointed because the cannoli didn't have enough filling in it for me so it was mostly shell. I would rather have them give me the cannoli shells with the filling on the side so I can dip my shell and get a great shell/filling ratio. There was live entertainment, which is not always one of my favorite things. However, the trio was really pretty good and not loud and obnoxious so you could have a conversation with the music in the background. The bartender was attentive and it was just a nice experience as usual all around. My continued disappointment here is it really needs some updating on the inside to bring it into the new era. read more

Thanks to Kiandra (I know I asked 3 times but I'm a bad speller) for picking up our table (also for managements sake: she was GREAT, clearly she was overwhelmed but she was handling the evening with grace and humor). she was literally the only highlight in this bizarre chain of events that was our evening. Having recently moved into the Cary area and hoping to celebrate my fiancés birthday, I mistakenly cajoled him into coming to 750 Cucina Rustica. Hoping that manifesting alone would avoid the glaring one star reviews, I was disastrously disappointed. We arrived at 6:45, seated immediately but after almost 10 minutes without being greeted at our table, some water appeared. 5 more laborious minutes passed before our table was graciously taken by Kiandra who took our cocktail orders (the drinks took some time to be made). While waiting, we were approached by the server actually assigned to our section. We told him we were already greeted to which he had no response other than, "have a good evening" and then promptly walked away. We had placed an order for bruschetta which was, admittedly, quite tasty. The kicker was the table next to us in similar straits. Ungreeted. Thirsty. Our neighbor grabbed the owner who has been busy showing off different espresso pots to some other customers. The owner grabbed another server to greet and service the table next to us. Then the magical disappearing server actually assigned to that section (the same section as us!) appeared from thin air to try the same stunt to the same effect. With my cocktail glass empty, water glass empty and The same for him. Our food appeared!! Rigatoni in a shape I'm still trying to decipher with the additional $4 add on of crumbled sausage, and lobster ravioli for him. The food was barely passable. I admit, I'm writing this review from the bathroom. What really got me was the owner should have seen what was going on, but she was busy sitting and talking to a lady with pink hair. Went here on a Friday night. The place was surprisingly not very busy as always. The food is really nice and authentic. We ordered. 1. Penne pasta vodka sauce with burrata 4/5 the sauce could have been bit more salty but my husband said this is how authentic sauce tastes. Best part was that both pasta and sauce are made in-house. So 5/5 for that. 2. Rustica salad4/5- nothing out of the world but good and croutons were really good. 3. Arancini-5/5 freshly made and good size. 4. Chocolate Gelato- was good. 5. Service - it was slow to begin with but once the server was assigned, he was attentive. Will go back to this place for sure to try more items. read more

With the enormous Italian population in the Chicago area, I don't know how they feel about 750 Cucina Rustica. But having eaten in Italy many times myself, they must have a pretty tepid opinion of the place. The U.S. does have incredible Italian restaurants, but this isn't one of them. The calamari is probably the best dish I've eaten here, but even that lacks the characteristics crunch the batter requires. The lasagna is massive, topped with an exceptional blend of cheeses. But the sauce ruins the entire experience. It's almost as if the kitchen is preparing their lasagna with Chef Boyardee spaghetti sauce or some comparably inauthentic brand. read more

We catered from them. This was for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding reception. The delivery guy came 1/2 hour late with no notice he was arriving late. With 75 guests, this created undue stress. They also forgot serving ware so we had to improvise. They also did not have a lighter to let the sterno's to keep the food warm. I called after the event to complain. I left a message with the manager and with the owner. I never heard back. If you are going to use them, their food is good but service is horrible. read more

I ordered the special - gnocchi à la vodka sauce, my daughter had the Rigatoni with vodka sauce and burrata my son had the baked penne Quattro formaggi and my husband had the paccheri toscana. Went on Saturday night. Had 2 of the chef seafood specials and a couple of shrimp bisque soups. The soup had no shrimp in, more like a fishy tasting tomato soup, both bowls. The 2 specials, the one was more of a breaded appetizer, only 2 scallops and 2 shrimp, the rest calamari and lettuce. The other was a seafood stuffed pasta. No seafood to speak of, rock shrimp, lobster, scallops, were all missing. Mostly ricotta cheese. Service was slow and below average. Won't be going back for a while. Very disappointed. read more

I recently had a disappointing experience at a restaurant that I felt compelled to share. I went there for dinner with my fiancée, mother, and our two young kids, ages 3 and 1. Initially, the dinner was fantastic; we were enjoying our time together and the food was great. However, after about an hour and 20 minutes, we were abruptly told we had to leave because of other reservations. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I still had my drink left, and we had just paid our tab As we were leaving, we encountered a manager and inquired about the situation. To our shock, she responded by asking if we knew how to read English, which felt incredibly rude and unprofessional. I pulled up my reservation online and nowhere does it say there was a time limit. To make matters worse, as we walked through the bar to exit, she followed my mother and physically shoved her three times. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any establishment, and it left a sour taste in what could have been a lovely evening. We called the cops to make a report as the manager "lucy" (she told me this was her name) should never be able to touch a customer. Especially since we were not refusing to leave AND my kids were there to witness it all. In the car my son kept asking why the lady pushed my mom . This shouldn't be something I need to answer as it never should have happened. She tried telling the cops she did not have the "intent" to hurt but to get us out . Yet we were not even refusing to leave...only letting her know it was rude as we still had stuff that was unfinished that we paid for. I understand that restaurants have to manage reservations, but there are respectful ways to handle these situations. Additionally, she left it up to the waiter to tell us we had to leave . I won't be returning, and I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision. And please , if you were in the bar / restaurant when this all happened , speak up on how wrong it was of her to push someone like that. read more

I will NEVER go back to this restaurant! I was discriminated against and pushed 3 times in the back by the mother of the owner who said her name was "Lucy". (I believe she lied but we will call her that for now until I get the police report I filed against her). After being at the restaurant for 1 hour and 20 minutes our server came up to us right after we already paid the bill and said the manager asked that we leave so they can use the table for others. This is while my daughter still had half a drink she was just served with our bill and we just finished dessert. As myself, my daughter, son in law, and 2 young grandchildren were leaving I asked the manager why she was so rudely kicking us out like that when we just paid the bill and still had half a drink left. Instead of being professional and explaining it to us, she started yelling at me and pointed her finger in my face and said "keep your mouth shut. Can't you read English what is wrong with you." (I'm Caucasian) I said "now you're discriminating against me?" She said it says you have 1 1/2 hours when you make a reservation learn to read English." (By the way it does not say that anywhere online or when you make a reservation. My daughter searched and took pics for proof. She also has an email confirming the reservation and nowhere does it give a time limit.) Keep in mind we weren't even there 1 1/2 hours yet anyways. We we got there at 5:55pm and it was 7:15pm. As "Lucy"was yelling and getting in my face I did say ok Bitch and then walked away to leave the restaurant because I wasn't going to argue with her because she was acting completely unprofessional. But as I rounded the corner from the restaurant area to go out the exit in the bar area and was halfway to the door someone pushed me hard in my back and I fell forward. I turned around and it was "Lucy"! The manager! She continued to push me 2 more times as I called for my daughter to record this. Right in front of my 1 year old and 3 year old grandchildren! I was shocked so we just left and walked outside away from the restaurant to call the police. While my daughter was on the phone with the police "Lucy" came outside yelling some more even though we weren't even by the restaurant. When the police came she told them it wasn't her intent to hurt me. What!?! She pushed me from BEHIND!! 3 times!!! What was her intent then? We were walking towards the door! So unprofessional and definitely NOT a family friendly restaurant as it states online. I will be filing a lawsuit! So uncalled for! You DO NOT touch another individual like that! Discriminated against and assaulted by the MANAGER!! Wow! Just blows my mind how someone thinks they can get away with that and this happened in the middle of a full restaurant and worst of all my grandkids. We sat outside to listen to a band. The table was a homemade kind you had to straddle to get up on. Poor service and highly average food. The food quality has gone downhill. It was better during Covid. Service has never been great here. We had 4 bus service people pass out table without picking up the dirty plates. The girl at the front reception was very unfriendly. We waited forever for our check. We had to go inside and find out waiter after waiting for almost an hour for our check. We ordered the scallop appetizer. It only came with 3 scallops! The grilled calamari was just ok and very skimpy portions. We had this before Covid and it was way way better. We had the spaghetti and meatballs and it barely had sauce on it. Chicken and veal dishes, I've never had but my dining companions have reported are good. I don't love the salmon, and that's usually my go to for Italian when I don't want pasta. The other seafood options I think are just ok. At this point I feel like I've tried the majority of the menu items I am interested in. Been trying out Italian restaurants in the area for take out, and this was the best we found so far in the mchenry/crystal lake area. Both meals we got were really good, and the man in the front who may have been the manager specifically made sure our tiramisu was separate from the rest of our order. Delicious! Went on a weekend on a cold night to this place in Cary. We were looking for a nice place to relax and decided to try this place out. The place was very cute and had great ambience. The service was pleasant and professional. Food menu was ample, and our food was delicious! Husband got the chicken park with pasta which came with two chicken breasts and was huge! Our favorite Italian restaurant! Conveniently located in downtown Cary, the ambience is cozy and hip. Options for seating are great--in the bar, indoor or outdoor. All the food we've tried from the bread and olives to pizza and main entrees to coffee and desserts have been delicious. I especially love the baked orecchiette. Had a very nice date night with the Mrs there. Service and looks are great. The menu had many choices that all sounded fantastic. We went with the bruschetta which was to quote my wife, "so good". For good measure, I got the mussels in white sauce, when I saw I licked the bowl clean, it is only a slight exaggeration. I actually saved the bread, and used the provided toast to clean said bowl. The minestrone soup was pretty standard, I've had both better and worse, but it was good. As for entrees the wife got the chicken parmesan. What little she ate of it, being loaded with bruschetta, she said was really good. I got a special for the night, fried seafood. I do not speak Italian, nor do I choose to butcher the beautiful language by attempting the actual name of the dish. It consisted of fried calamari, which was great. Fried shrimp and scallops, which I've had both better and worse. Both very good mind you, it just didn't stand out other than being prepared perfectly. It came with a sriracha aoli, which both made it stand apart from similar dishes, and was fantastic. To sum up, date night was perfect. I was really looking forward to a great experience after reading the reviews, but I was disappointed. I was in the Chicago area as a solo traveler on a business trip. I read reviews and the website for 750 Cucina Rustica and decided I would make the drive to experience quality family owned Italian fare. I had some initial reservations about ordering a dish with imported pasta....I'm not sure why you would import pasta rather than just make it fresh but I tried to remain open minded. They had both outside seating and indoor available. A band played music outside which made for a nice atmosphere. I was initially brought about a quarter of a baguette with a small dish of olives, grated parmesan and olive oil. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana as my main entree and made sure to tell the server I would save room to try dessert. Service really fell short. I think it was more of a front of the house management issue though as I noticed my server was waiting tables both inside and outside. This lead to my table being largely neglected. I had to request my water be topped off. No one really checked to see how the food was. The eggplant parmigiana was just ok... the imported bucatini was sort of rubbery. Sauce was just ok. The dish was maybe a step above something you'd get at Olive Garden. It lacked seasoning and just didn't taste very fresh. The portion was huge-enough for two people to eat. But the flavors were just missing and I didn't even bother to ask for a box to take home the leftovers. I did request the homemade tiramisu. I was looking forward to that dessert to fill the void left by the entree. But sadly my server disappeared, never to be seen again. So I never got to try dessert. I had to flag down another waiter to pay. There was just a lot of neglect in both service and food quality. I mean....it's ok and one could definitely fill their belly.
