Excellent spot for a true restaurant meal. They have lunch and dinner and a very nice bar area. It was an open roomy restaurant with several larger rooms and comfortable looking tables and seats. All natural wood with a Barvarian lodge type feel. It reminded me of the family style places we would go as kids with the folks for a big night out. When we walked in the place was comfortably full with many large parties and couples seated around the restaurant. Pretty impressive for a Wednesday early evening. Even the bar had a nice crowd. Outside there is a very nice sized patio for dining right on the Fox River. We sat at a nice large table next to a window looking over the Fox River. They start you off with a basket of fresh buttered popcorn. A nice start. I really don't think there is a bad table in the house the way they have it set up. The ambiance is excellent, homey, warm, and welcoming. I can see this place being a total holiday scene. The menu has all the traditional American fare and a page dedicated to authentic Greek fare. Cuisine only true Greek restaurant would serve. They also had an excellent separate Octoberfest menu with all the traditional German fare. A great choice for a chilly fall evening. Several parties had pizza on the table which honestly looked excellent. I imagine it's a bit a a neighborhood spot for the kids too. Our server Lily knew her stuff, and seamlessly guided us through our ordering. She explained all the items we asked about and seemed to really enjoy being there. Lily knew it was a Greek owned restaurant which for me is a huge UPS! I'm not Greek but having been in the industry myself for some years I know the quality and high expectations of any Greek owned restaurant. We started with a bowl of French Onion soup and Cream of Chicken soup. Both truly excellent and the real deal. Two Iced teas that came in what seemed to be some cool repurposed jelly jars. Excellent touch in the comfy factor. We split and Octoberfest meal of german sausage combo with red cabbage and sour kraut and potato pancakes. It was a great choice and a truly authentic plate of three different sausages all cooked to perfection. Complete with sour cream and applesauce. All in all an excellent meal with an excellent server Lily. I will most definitely be back in the next few weeks. It's totally worth the drive from Chicago.

Protein Plate - cheeseburger, cottage cheese, and a hard boiled egg.

This place has been in the community for a long time. Newly renovated interior and it looks nice. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat. We find ourselves here every now and then for the quick bite. They have daily soup specials which I love. More importantly they have spanakopita (a light and fluffy pastry filled with spinach and cheese). However, tonight, I ordered the protein plate and it hit the spot!! My husband had a salad, it was huge and also very good. Our waitress was attentive and nice.

Always a fun place to visit, especially if you get the saganaki! I like their unique decor. On this visit, I got a cheeseburger and cole slaw. The burger was really good, except I'd ordered without onions and they put onions on anyway. We had a friendly server. I've been coming here for years and I know I'll be back.

BBQ Brisket Mac and Turkey Club w/coleslaw!

First off - it was our first time here. Loved the look, and it was right on the Fox River. Beautiful spring day. The ambience? Right off the bat we were served by the lady at the front desk with a bowl of buttered/salted freshly popped popcorn. A nice touch! Lots of little nooks and crannies where tables were located; we were in a nice little location just off the bar. A nice young man (probably new) came over and took our drink order - a tall Yeungling (did I spell that right?) for me; seltzer water for hubby. First time having this beer; it wasn't bad; wasn't good - it was just beer. Ok then! We decided to forego the appetizers as the portions tend to be pretty big at most American restaurants. Having gotten used to smaller portions elsewhere, I'm always just a BIT worried the order will be too big! Well, hubby ordered the BBQ Brisket Mac; I ordered the Turkey Club w/coleslaw! Hubby announced that the BBQ Brisket Mac was great. My turkey club had a generous portion of turkey, but oh, well - a bit dry. They need to learn from the Amish in nearby Indiana about how to make a moist turkey breast! Still - yummy. Ok - the food concern, really was the french onion soup that hubby subbed as a side. When it came, he honestly wasn't "too" impressed with the flavor. He is a bit of a french-onion-soup connosieur, so he's got high standards that met a low bar here. Ok, Village Squire- you can do better! The highlight, though? was the live musician! A guy named Max, and MAN was he just fantastic! He covered Your Song by Elton John, and he was just masterful. You won't hear me wax so eloquently about most live musicians- he is worth raving about! Alright- the stinker part of the night was when hubby ordered, he asked to substitute the normal side for the aforementioned french onion soup. When the bill came? He was charged for a full bowl of soup and not the 99 cent sub fee! The manager had to fix it up for us (to be fair, she did so, but the waiter had to be asked to get her - a bad sign). Still- the location is par excellence, and the food is just fine overall - but Max the live guy? WOW! We'll come back.

One of four restaurants in the Karas Restaurant Group, the Dundee location is a neighborhood pub that serves a variety of apps, salads, sandwiches, pizza and more and has a full bar. We had been here on their patio in the summer but this was our first time dining in. The fireplace, fresh popcorn and holiday decorations as well as live entertainment was just the cozy spot we were looking for to catch up with friends. Our server Monika was friendly and attentive and didn't mind that we were in no hurry. Our food came out hot and just as ordered. One complaint would be the Makers Old Fashioned our friend ordered. We all tasted it and it tasted like seltzer water. My friend was too nice to send it back and ordered a beer instead. They have a beautiful room for parties. As is common these days, it was an expensive tab at $72 with tax and tip for two people having just sandwiches with two beers and one cider. I'm sure my friend's tab was more.

    Italian Beef Rolls?

Went after a show at the Rockhaus and sat on their patio. Located along the Fox River, the Village Squire Restaurants have been in the Fox Valley area since the 70's. Huge menu appetizers, sandwiches, pizza and dinners..known for their ribs. Full drink menu known for their Mai Tais. We were seated promptly and service was spot on. I wish I had gotten the server's name. Our group only wanted appetizers, drinks and a few sandwiches. Good beer selection on tap. Started with the Sriracha Bourbon wings which were good in size, not overcooked and the sauce was fantastic. Also ordered the Italian Beef Rolls and was disappointed. They were supposed to be Italian beef with cheese and giardiniera wrapped in a crispy wonton. Instead they came meatball style and the filling was finely ground together. Tasty but not what was described on the menu. Comes with a horseradish cream sauce. Plus, why give an odd number of meatballs when sharing? Probably would not get it again. If the weather is nice and you want a drink and and appetizer ,salad or sandwich..this is a nice place to eat in downtown Dundee.

$16.99 for this! (( Reuben ))I no Swiss cheese and had to ask for a side of 1000 and barely any meat don't mind paying a higher price... but please give me what I'm paying for! The bartender was very nice. And the popcorn was fresh and delicious. Would I order another Reuben!Heck noooo

    The Pub Chicken Sandwich
    Ho T.

I got the pub chicken sandwich. The blackened chicken breast was dry and over season that's why it was salty. The bacon was tough; the pretzel bun was stale. I was disappointed.

    Patio

Cheese curds were soo good. Entertainment sucked talking about half naked men We sat outside which was nice but inside looked dark and dirty, decor needs updating Waiter was nice and friendly.

First time. 5pm dinner on July-22. Having driven by the locations over the years, the interior is what I imagined: very dungeon-like. Food was "okay" -- cheeseburger and a shrimp dinner -- nothing special. We were in the room to the left, immediately off the entrance. Our reason for being here was the Rochaus discount. Never would have tried it otherwise (the building exteriors always struck me as "old" and outdated; assumed the food and service would be the same.) My hunch was right on: average food and dirty (see pics). The server -- Tyler -- was great.

It's our favorite lunch spot after a bike ride. We love sitting outside by the river. Perfect little lunch date spot. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad, the portions are large so you'll definitely have a to go box. I also enjoyed my shaken lemonade... yum My husband had the ultimate grill cheese with a tomato dip and homemade chips. He absolutely loved it! The place a cute I have been going here for years the staff is awesome ! I personally recommend this place I never had any issues.

My husband and I visited for a dinner bite and were immediately drawn to their burger selection. It was hard to choose one but I ordered the Hurricane and he The DC Cobb. I absolutely loved the flavor of my burger and was happy I got to try two of their specialty items. I tasted some of the mac and cheese on its own and thoroughly enjoyed the bold, cheesy taste. The buns are perfectly charred for a bit of a crunch and the portion was big. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger and both were cooked perfectly medium as requested. Our server, Rena, did an amazing job taking care of us and ensure all of our questions were answered. This was definitely a great food spot to try in the East Dundee area.
