Hidden tap is really a hidden location down a long road in the suburb of Cary. Super local bar location. So local that when you walk in they give you a look to make sure its not someone they know. We went during Karaoke night and had a blast. Nothing special just a local bar to relax at.

Great prices! The atmosphere is relaxing. This is the cleanest bar I've ever been to. The bar stools are so comfortable.

I'll try to be short, but want to give a true account of the events. Yesterday I came from the city via Metra late afternoon with another friend to visit a dear friend that moved to Cary a few years ago. Cary is far & we rarely see one another. Needless to say, we were super excited to for this mini-reunion & for our friend to show us a slice of Cary. It was not the best planning being St Paddy's weekend but so be it. We specifically looked for a place we could easily talk & catch up. We started w/ one chocolate martini at Cucina Rustica and chatted OVER an HOUR. Little did we know, we should have stayed there. Next stop, Cary RACIST Ale House. The back area lounge was nearly empty & we were assured it was open (not booked for any events). The waitress, at the start aggressively asked a bunch of questions. I first thought her line of questioning was bizarre so I ignored her while trying to figure out what to order. She asked how we got there, who was driving & specifically said she didn't feel comfortable in serving me. WTF?!?!? My friend politely answered her questions and when she left, we all agreed the waitress's behavior was odd & laughed it off. We refused to have her ruin our evening. To our SHOCK the waitress would NOT serve me?! Only me! Was I disruptive? NO! Was I being violent or doing something illegal? NO! Did I come in stumbling? NO! Was I slumped over passed out? NO! This was crazy! Check your security cameras if you don't believe! Was this a bad twilight zone episode? Was someone going to tell us this was all a joke? I was speechless. We asked her why. She said it was a management decision. What?! Interesting since no one came to talk to us aside from her. We asked her to explain, to get some understanding. You will NOT believe what she said....she said it was my eyes. I looked at my two white friends & asked if something was wrong with my eyes? No, nothing is wrong. WOW, she basically said my Asian eyes were an issue. Falsely claiming I was drunk and couldn't be served because she didn't like Asian-looking eyes?!?! I was stone cold sober ***hole! We were all completely sober & flabbergasted! Completely disgusted, we left. I thought about brushing this aside but I wouldn't want anyone else to be treated that way. I will not allow them to humiliate me. This was supposed to be a happy occasion, and it was spoiled by a bigoted, small-minded person. I don't know how these people can live with themselves.

Really good selection as far as microbrews go, but I thought it was a little bit of a turnoff that there hardly were any sales going on, vs. other stores carrying a good bit of microbrews and craft beer. Still, I have to give this store credit, since it wasn't bad. And I even picked one up to go. If you don't feel like trekking to say a Binny's or other grocery chain store(Jewel, etc.) to get beer, this isn't a bad local option to get craft beer at. I'd hope the owner would somewhat step up the number of sales they do, since I noticed much fewer vs. other independent stores carrying craft beers for whatever weird reason. Their wine selection also appeared to be good from what I saw of it, but I paid less attention to that section since I'm not much into wine.

Everything seems to be up at least 10% all over, so I can't fault them for it. I just wish income had gone up that much in a year. Again not their control. But I just can't go eating at restaurants as much. The price of 6.75 for a dog fish beer was imo kinda high and it was rather flat. The coleslaw was honestly so bad and bitter rancid tasting I had to spit it out. Honestly, not a fan of Cole slaw but this is the first I've had to 100% reject eating. The pickle I got that someone raved about, didn't look great when I turned it over The fries honestly could have been cooked a little more but were pretty good. The best part of the meal was the burger though so that sorta saved the whole experience. I sat on the patio and got good service. I appreciated that the to-go wasn't styrofoam. I had to take 1/2 the burger home. There is a 3% surcharge for using credit cards, so I was glad I brought cash, as I'm tired of getting charged for charging. Ha. Overall not bad, but could use some attention to detail.

It looks very much the same - there is a bar in front with stools around the bar and high top tables. The restaurant is in the back. They have a nice menu with lots of variety and some gluten-free options. Our server came by the table right away to take our drink orders. I ordered a vodka martini - what the bartender made was something called a French martini - I sent it back and they brought me what I'd originally ordered. It was very good. I read through many of the reviews before ordering. My usual at a place like this is a hamburger. But the reviews were very mixed so I decided I would try the Bourbon Chicken Sandwich with tater tots. My partner had a Reuben made with turkey (a Rachel - not on the menu) and sweet potato fries. My Bourbon Chicken was really good. In fact, I recommend it. The Rachel was also very good. The sweet potato fries were outstanding. The tots were okay. It's very rustic in the dining room, which fits very well with their menu. It's also very large. The service was outstanding. The main…read morereception hall features a large stone window behind the wedding party table, and there is a patio just outside that overlooks the water, which makes for a gorgeous setting. While Wild Onion is clearly a great venue for events, it is also a restaurant and brewery, so I am focusing this review more on the food and dining experience. We ate here for my cousin's wedding rehearsal dinner and were seated in a red carpeted room connected to the main reception hall. Unfortunately, this space felt out of place compared to the rest of the venue. It did not match the elegant vibe of the main hall and was a bit dark and dingy, which was somewhat off-putting at first. Service-wise, our waitress was wonderful. She was sweet, personable, and had a fun, upbeat personality that helped improve the overall experience right at the beginning. For my meal, I ordered the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich ($17). It is a hand-breaded chicken breast topped with honey garlic sauce, pepper jack cheese, bacon, chipotle mayo, and fried jalapenos. The sandwich had a really nice balance of flavors and was easy to eat, but despite the name, it was not spicy at all. I enjoyed it, though I did find the portion a bit small, and it did not fill me up. I chose cheese curds as my side, and those were a highlight. They were crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Also, because I am currently pregnant, I had an absolutely delicious mocktail. I sadly don't remember the name of the one I ordered, but I am here to say that it had a good balance of flavors. Overall, Wild Onion has a large menu with a wide variety of options, along with many different side choices, some for an additional charge. There truly is something for everyone. While the rehearsal dinner space itself was not ideal, the food, service, and overall selection still made for a positive experience.

I ordered fries on the side and wasn't expecting the portion size. They gave an entire basket of fries that easily could have fed the party of four adults I was there with.
