There was no driveway, no yellow curb, no official City of Cle Elum parking sign, and no other indication that curb parking was restricted. The only "No Parking/Tow Away" sign was attached to the fence of a private residence behind the public sidewalk. Under Washington law, a private impound applies to vehicles on private property, while a public impound is authorized by law enforcement or another public official with jurisdiction over the public property. See RCW 46.55.010 and RCW 46.55.080. I have not found any Cle Elum ordinance authorizing private residents or tow operators to reserve or tow vehicles from otherwise unrestricted public street parking. Rather than explaining any legal authority, the driver simply told me to move my car after backing up with lights on posturing. Bummer for him, I had a bad day and am a lawyer, but also too tired to confront a wanna be cowboy. I moved my vehicle because it wasn't worth risking an improper tow, but the experience was unnecessarily hostile and intimidating.

In July, our brand new Denali HD Longbed got damaged in the touchless wash. Stupid me for taking a brand new truck to a touchless car wash, but wanted to knock the dust off before our wedding. I didn't stop when the wash said to stop and I know or thought I was a few inches too far forward, so I backed up a few inches. Long story short, the wash scratched up the tailgate. Blame is on me. I just wanted a simple phone call to talk to someone about what happened and to have a cordial conversation. Instead, I asked in person 3 times following the incident for a phone call. No phone call over 4 weeks later. I sent in an email inquiring, and the response was pure blame on me and basically calling it unfortunate. Great customer service. I was never going to ask for them to fix anything, but as a result of their terrible customer service, I'll be cancelling our membership. Damage was minor. Scuffed the black plastic, scuffed the white paint around it, and scratched the GMC emblem. Just know that the wash takes ONE snapshot of your vehicle when you stop and doesn't bother to check ever again. Lesson learned.

Rude Customer Service and Antiquated Equipment. When I went to fill gas yesterday the pump was…read morerattling because of the strong winds. After filling the gas the tubing attached to the top of the pump got detached and fell to the ground. Out of courtesy and safety reasons when I notified the cashier, instead of being grateful she asked me if I drove away with the pump attached to my gas tank. When I said no and if that was the case why would I come tell her, she nodded her not believing me. If I was her manager, I would have her fired for her ungrateful and discourteous attitude.
