I drive between Orange County and Palm Springs several times a year, and this place has been one of my stops for over twenty years now. I can't remember how many times the brand of gas changed, but I usually stop here for a beverage, and the last time, I decided to try their chicken and biscuits. The employees are generally friendly and efficient. Prices are what you expect for a Circle-K, but I love how they've kept their fountain drinks prices low. For food that mainly sits under a heat lamp, the chicken was decent, and I really liked the biscuits. Getting in and out from the highway is pretty easy, although it can get backed up a little. That's not the fault of this place; I blame it on the Dollar General that opened in the same lot. The area has gotten busier over the years, but it's still a go-to for me when needed. read more

Stopped by this place on my way to Palm Springs , The guy behind the register offered my friend and I a sample of their chicken ( I quickly said no thank you ) but my friend went for it ...as the mad explained how it was cooked fresh and they change the oil everyday which sets them apart from other circle k's that sell chicken .. anyway the point to this review is after giving in a trying the chicken I ended up buying some for our lunch . Extended the last minutes of my Thanksgiving weekend in Palm Springs as long as I could by trying out different frozen yogurt shops, I got carried away, night owl as I am. So much so that when I departed I noticed I needed to fill up gas in my car. It was after 10 p.m. and as I drove out of Palm Springs, I passed 2 gas stations that were closed. The 3rd one had a sign that said it was open till midnight although no one was present. Pulled into another gas station I noticed a posted sign which claimed the staff would return at a designated time. Ahem, 10 minutes ticked by. I patiently waited 5 more minutes. With no signs of life I decided to drove off. Only to find this gas station open 24 hours a day, a short distance away. The price of gas was $4.69, what? What a high price to pay for the late night frozen yogurt indulgences. I could have driven onwards in search of lower priced gas, though this establishment looked safer than some others. There were even some women working inside. They had a RED BOX dvd rental here. Along with a water vending machine. Never saw a water refill machine at a gas station before. Usually they have been located in front of supermarkets. Given the remote desert location, installment of the RED BOX & water refill station was smart thinking on someone's part. Back in L.A., I use these water vending machines because I like the taste of the water and it is relatively inexpensive. It is usually 25-30 cents/gallon as I bring my own jug in for a refill. Not only does the reverse osmosis filtered water tastes superior to some brands of bottled water, it is inexpensive as compared to bottled water too. Moral of the story, fill up gas before or after, or be prepared to pay the price for a brightly lit, convenient and well stocked gas station. Now why didn't I think of using Siri on my new iPhone? Or ask, like my Yelp friend Winnie did at some other establishments, if these frozen yogurt shops had advice for low cost, stay open late gas stations? I was on my way to Palm Springs and needed to stop for gas and the sign said $3.89 per gallon. Oh wait, in letters that were super hard to read, there was a tiny area that said "cash price". So I guess that was my fault for not stopping to closely inspect the sign. pushed the button that said I wanted a receipt and then got a message that I had to go inside to pick up my receipt. First of all, IF I WANTED TO GO INSIDE I WOULD NOT BE PAYING AT THE PUMP. So I was already annoyed. Then, after I left the station, I discovered WHY they don't give you the receipt at the pump--they over charge you and they don't want you to know about it. They charged me $3.99 per gallon instead of the advertised $3.89 per gallon that I thought I was getting. OK, that was my mistake, but I think that this type of advertising, where you do not clearly see "CASH PRICE" is dishonest. If the price is higher if you pay with a credit card at the pump, then it should be clearly labeled at the pump AND ON THE SIGN that you have PAY CASH AND go inside to get the lower price. Additionally, if there is no way to get a receipt at the pump, then they should tell you that also. read more

Up until recently this was just about the saddest scariest looking Arco AM-PM. I've been watching it get remodeled over the past few months to a Valero - Circle K. Finally got some gas here and checked out the C-Store this Friday. And, yep, they completely gutted the inside and everything is brand-new. Pretty big inside too. With everything you would expect in a Circle K C-Store. Even a clean restroom. Please check your credit cards if using any at this gas pump. This is an email i sent to the police as my credit card was manipulated possible at this location. I am not saying it was the store or employees but could have been somebody using a device just sitting in the car nearby. This is an email i am sending the police: I am writing to advise that at the gas station at Circle K -Valero Cabazon there could be a possible credit card "manuipulation" device at one of the gas stations. I live in Palm Springs and was driving through this past friday and used my debit card at the pump. I did not go in the store. A day after this a charge was used at a Home Depot in Fontana and then Lowes before my bank stopped payment and put out a fraud alert on it. They called me today. The only reason I am writting is this is a brand new debit card sent in the mail two weeks ago. I have a secure mailbox. I have only used the card 4 times and the other 3 times were people i see all the time in stores at home and ones I have gone too in the last 5 years and the card never left my hand. The 4th was this gas station as I was passing through just this past Friday. The card has never been used before as it was new. The charges were done Saturday. Very near the summit is a Circle K/76 convenience store/fuel stop. The traveler that stops there will not only experience the westerly winds, but also the friendly staff and ownership of this wonderful place of business. On a recent drive eastward on I-10 we stopped for coffee and fuel. The coffee was hot and fresh, and the facilities were clean. The manager, Sam, was working the cash register and we enjoyed him chat about the winds and the special glass shielding that is outside the entrance to divert the westerly winds. About four hours later, way down the road eastward on I-10, we discovered that our wallet was nowhere to be found in the car. We concluded in a panic that we must have left it in the Circle K/76 convenience store on a countertop. We paused alongside the road to search out the phone number for this business. When we called and inquired about a "lost wallet" Sam responded "yes, a customer found it and turned it in." With relief we identified ourselves to correspond to the Driver's License and other information in the wallet asked if he would be willing to ship it to us. He responded without hesitation, "sure"! We exchanged contact information and he later sent us tracking information for the wallet. Winds are an expected experience in the San Gorgonio Pass. Honest and friendly people and service can be part of the expectation. Hats off to Sam and his staff at the Cabazon Circle K/76 for their friendliness and integrity!! The place is at the 76 station, and when I went there, it was 10:00 a.m. I stopped for a phone call. They have the best chick tenders I have ever tasted. They are fried perfectly, the crust is crispy and fresh, the color is perfect, and you can tell the fat is clean. It was delicious. The only reason I am giving this establishment two stars is the convenience store section is okay. It seems clean enough and has the usual items you expect at any Circle K. With the nice stuff aside, the Valero gas at this establishment is outrageously priced. When we stopped to get gas here I expected Valero gas to be cheaper than the Casino's gas station, but it was ten cents more a gallon. I have never in my life seen a Valero gas station priced so high. With that being said don't go here for gas- the only benefit to this place is if you have to take a break on your trip out to the desert. read more
