FINALLY! A proper barber shop experience in the Fredericksburg, Virginia Area. I was in need of a much-needed haircut recently with two upcoming trips before the end of the month. I was tired of going to my usual "chain store" barber where it's Russian Roulette as to the type of haircut you're going to get and I decided to go for something which was higher end. After reaching out to several barbers regarding weekend appointment availability, I found 77 Barbershop in Stafford County. I went for their highest level of service (Level Up) and I do not regret it. I will definitely be back. I selected Liz based on prior reviews and boy, did I luck out. Her attention to detail and her kindness along with her gentle demeanor made the experience worthwhile. After showing her photos of prior positive experiences abroad, she was able to replicate my preferred hairstyle with precision and care. I can't recommend her enough. I also opted for a shave and I swear that I felt like I was getting high-end spa treatment. I had not felt this relaxed at a barber shop for quite some time. So if you're in need of a full-on barber shop experience, I highly recommend 77 Barbershop off of Route 17 in Stafford (almost across from GEICO). It's well worth the visit. read more

Horrible haircut -- was promised a curly/wavy hair specialist, and instead got someone who has could not follow basic instruction, who began shaving my beard when I explicitly asked him not to. No apologies, nothing; he literally gave up during the haircut and just got me out of the chair as soon as he could, leaving my hair crooked. Apparently, this gentleman was in construction and switched to be a barber -- I can tell, my hair was given the same amount of care as plaster for drywall laying. He then tried saying that he did what he could in 30 minutes (then why would you take me if you cannot accomplish a haircut in 30 minutes; this was without shampoo/conditioner or shaving btw???). Absolute joke of a barber shop -- if you don't have straight hair and do not want the one men's haircut they've done thousands of times, steer clear. Complete waste of money and time for mediocrity. read more

I had my first haircut here yesterday. The shop is clean and well lit, perhaps a bit sparse inside. I got a standard cut and the barber took her time understanding what I wanted and went slow so I could suggest corrections. After the cut I received a complimentary warm towel during my shampoo and rinse. The barber said she'd enter some notes in the system so I could get the same cut again. At $32 a cut, it is pricier than your chain barbers, but the difference in service and quality is significant. I'll be returning and am not shy about suggesting it to friends. read more

The girl who cut my hair and bear has zero experience in making men's bear and hear. My wife tried to show her what to do next. Finally she made my hair very worse than ever. This was our first time coming here, front desk staff was pretty nice and the wait wasn't too long for a walk in. My boyfriend wanted a trim and showed a photo, they got it pretty close and it looks very good. He said that it was painless and the guy cutting his hair was funny when my boyfriend asked if it looked ok. Overall, very satisfied! read more

Came here to get my husband a "spa day" and booked a beard line-up, steam facial, and mud mask. he absolutely loved it. Melissa is so great and treated him well, she's excellent at customer service. The ladies also wear masks here and I really appreciate that. Plus, it's just such a nice cozy area with a wonderful private rooms. He is definitely coming back. read more

The staff here was beyond amazing.. my eight-year-old got a terrible haircut at another salon so that same day I brought him here hoping they could "fix it" and they were so sweet and fixed it as much as possible from the disaster that it was. I brought both of my boys here today for haircuts--one is 16 and the other is two. They both left with great cuts. I can't say enough great things about this place. Professionalism - I really enjoy how professional the whole experience is : I.e. the booking, the arrival, the cut itself, the wash at the end and how the barber who cut your hair actually completes the process by handling the payment transaction. Start to finish is awesome. 2. Cleanliness- Especially during these times places of work need to be kept clean. I respected that your shop was kept immaculately tidy and clean at all times during my visit. 3. Safety - You're employees showed great maturity and respect for the COVID protocols and observed the masked wearing at all times. I especially liked the fact that I was told to wash my hands before sitting down for the appointment. It's little things like that, that will make the difference for me. 4. The cut - Michelle was welcoming and engaged in some light chit chat which was great and helped me feel relaxed. You can tell she's is very skilled as the quality of the cut and time spent to perfect every detail displayed an experienced professional. She also kept checking back with me on length etc which I appreciated. Other than a bit of razor burn the day after I'd say that, that was almost the perfect cut. I have to admit that I have been hopping from Barbershop to barbershop recently in an attempt to find a reputable outfit where I feel confident to get my hair cut. I can safely say I think I've finally found that outfit and can't wait for the next appointment. P. Came here with my boyfriend because of the great reviews but we were extremely disappointed. The haircut itself was acceptable, but his barber, America, cut him FOUR TIMES with the razor. If that wasn't bad enough, she didn't even own up to it until we said something. My boyfriend called me over to ask if he was bleeding and I saw the three cuts behind his ear and blood on the towel. She was like, oh yeah, do you want a bandaid? She didn't apologize, and tried to tell him it was just one cut, where there is obviously more (see first photo). When I looked on the other side I pointed out to her that she had cut him once there as well. Showed up at the appointment and we were told that they were scheduled for two different days and they couldn't squeeze us both in. This was the best hair cutting experience my son has ever had. My 5 year son with autism got his haircut by the amazing Morgan! She was patient, kind, encouraging, and made us feel welcome. She gave him breaks, offered snacks, toys, etc. the rest of the staff were calm and so understanding. Very happy with the cleanliness and decorum of this barbershop. I highly recommend my barber Michelle! She gives a great and stylish cut every time! The entire staff is extremely friendly and professional. Was looking to get my hair cut for Xmas . And based on a quick search not expecting any place to be open the day before Xmas. Based solely on a quick reading of reviews and a look through the pictures I booked a appointment. Now I have to say this had to be the most luxurious hair cut and beard trim and line up I've ever experienced, from the hot towels for the straight razor lineup on my beard to the quality of the haircut.
