Very disappointed in my last visit. After over 10 years of being a loyal customer, Mrs. Mai simply would refuse service and had me wait for the other barber ( very nice guy). She would simply skip me and let other skip ahead of my turn. She was uncharacteristically rude. No reason, doesn't make sense. I posted a note on nextdoor.com a few months ago looking recommendations for a new barber since I moved to the area back in Aug 2022. There were a number of suggestions; one I tried about 6 weeks ago, and it was one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. So, today I tried Mai Barber shop, another one of the recommendations I received from my post. This haircut is by far the best haircut I've had in the past 15 years. Mai really took her time, wetting my hair down first and cutting with scissors! Each time I've been to a barber the person has used an electric cutter with guides in it, I always feel like I'm not getting a good even cut. When she finished with the scissors, she used the electric shaver to trim any longer hairs she missed with the scissors. She trimmed my eyebrows, trimmed the hair on the outside and inside of my ears, and used a hot towel on my face afterwards. She did an amazing job on the back of my neck shaving the hair and making sure the hair was cut even, and she also shaved hair just below the collar line. At the end of the cut and before she brushed my hair into place, she massaged my scalp and a bit of my shoulders. Also, seeing that my hair was very thin, she used a bit of spray to make sure it stayed in place. The cut was $18 cash. If you use a credit card, it's $1.00 more. I left her a really good tip. She was friendly, talkative, and really knew what she was doing in cutting my hair. For as long as I'm in the area, she will be the only one cutting my hair, from now on. :-) read more

I've been coming here for a month and getting Mai every time. I was once taught that you should pick one barber and stick with them and I got lucky that I found Mai on my first try. Most barbers will rush the regulars out when they have a full house or rush a new person out when it's full. Not here! My first visit she had a couple regulars ahead of me and one came in while I was waiting. She didn't rush my haircut at all and produces a quality razor fade every time. It is very rare that I can find a place that can perform a medium/high skin tight fade, that is blended with almost perfect shades of gradients. The location is nothing to admire but the product is. Mai cut my hair exactly as I asked for and did not disappoint. I recommend her barbershop for anyone that cares about a high quality haircut without having to break the bank to do so. Outstanding barber shop. I went on Saturday around 1130. A father and son were in front of me, and I got in the chair around noon. It took 30-35 minutes to get my hair cut, but it was worth the wait. The 2 barbers, may have been a husband and wife deal, but they take their time; and it's worth the wait. I got a straight razor to the back if my neck and a nice 1-2 minute massage and then a hot towel over the face and hair cleaning up the strays that were left behind. She also used a "kitchen scrubber" (for lack of better words) to brush the hair off my face. I've been searching for a good place to go and I have no found it. $14 for an almost perfect haircut. Great little place in an unsuspecting shopping mall. Went in on a Sunday and waited only 10 minutes. Had one of the best cuts in my life. The cut was great and to my preference but more than that, the barber actually removed all the clippings. Most barbers do some half way job of getting the hair out of your face, neck, etc...but this all included a massage (head, neck, and upper back) as well as a hot towel. All for $15. He has super thick, wavy/curly hair and most barbers usually botch it. Mai Barbers however gave him a perfect tight fade, while keeping it long on top. Like most guys who wear a flattop, I am very particular about my barbers. I went to Mai's barber shop and I was very pleased with the outcome. I like my flattops short and I got a very nice high and tight flattop. The top was cut perfectly level. I had my hair cut by the male barber. He took his time cutting my hair. He cleanup up the loose hairs as as he went. He was very particular. Since it was a new barber to me, I decided to bring a picture on my phone of what I wanted. The guy was able to match the cut exactly. He finished the cut with a neck shave. The top had a nice bevel and landing strip. I went on a Sunday. I didn't have to wait. Other guys were getting cuts, and it looks like they can cut most styles. Flattops are a precise haircut and he pulled it off. The shop was very clean. Prices were good.
