Who knew that a low tire would lead to something so magical? I went to the 76 Station near my house to fill the air in my tires and noticed a large, bright green tin structure near the sidewalk. The closer I got the greater my curiosity grew. It looked like an uber large library book or movie rental return box. To my surprise, it is actually a recycling center for clothes, shoes and household textiles. Not only does it assist people in our local community but it also helps people in need in Third World Countries...and they're "Green." How exciting is that?! . I haven't taken anything there, yet, because I recently donated a large amount of items during my big move...but I will when I do my spring cleaning. I think this is such a cool idea! The reviews on this page confirmed exactly what I thought. They are crooks and obviously have no respect for the environment. They put a bin on private property without permission from the owners. I've called twice and sent three emails with no response. We are taking the bin to the dump. Kind of defeats their whole purpose. I gave them opportunities to pick it up, so they obviously don't care if their container ends up in a landfill. Nice Job 7th Generation Recycling. You guys sound like you really know what you're doing. If they were a responsible organization they would... 1. Ask permission from property owners BEFORE placing the bin 2. Respond to phone calls and emails 3. Place bins in areas that make since, where people might be running errands; like residential shopping centers i.e. grocery stores, dry cleaning, ups stores. Not restaurant shopping centers where people are going out to eat. They are obviously not a real company that is legit. They are just out to make a buck off other peoples belongings. read more

Does this look like a company that cares about the environment or helps our planet? This is how their Dallas, Texas location looks like all the time. I have called the City of Dallas Code Compliance Dept. at least 30 times regarding the trash, parking in front of fire hydrant, blocking the street so no traffic can get thru, etc. the list just goes on and on. The last two years have been horrible. We now have a mice/rat problem, the homeless people have made our street their new home because they steal from 7th Generation Recycling and turn around and resale it for cash. Our crime rate has increased. They need to be held responsible for all the code/building violations they are breaking. I am contacting the investigative news team at our local news stations to see if they would be interested in doing a story about how the City of Dallas has failed its tax paying citizens and business owners. These guys are dead beats. They abandoned a storage bin at one of my customers properties, he was calling them for weeks to pick it up, finally we impounded it, and they have not paid us for our services. We have called and e-mailed several times, they are crooks.. read more

Big Crooks. Profit company appearing as non-profit. They are getting their used merchandise for their Thrift Stores from you for free and it is all profit to them. They drop boxes on private property without permission and refuse to respond to complaints. The worse of the worst. Look for a Goodwill or Salvation Army donation bin/center and do some real good. read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. We own shopping centers and they drop these bins in our parking lots with zero permission from us. We call the corporate office with no reply. On the box they advise people that illegal dumping is prohibited. They should be reminded that this also applies to themselves. read more

yesterday the woman i take care of dropped her month old sketcher shoes in a drop box. Later she realized what she had done and wanted them back. i called the corporate office in san jose and left a message never really expecting a response. later a lady called m,e and told me she would have the local office call me - then i got a call from a manager in maywood - he drove here this morning and opened the box and gave her the shoes. i am very grateful for this kind and wonderful service. read more

They cause huge problems and then the business owners have to pay hundreds of dollars to have it removed and taken to the landfill. If anyone deals with this company beware. They are very deceptive. They told us we would get a small payment for putting the bin in our parking lot which since July 23, 2014 we received "zero". These people have ZERO respect for anyone. They always just dump their clothing boxes on your property without ever contacting you to ask for permission or making any prior arrangements with the property owners. They purposely make it so you can't speak to them and leave any ability to communicate with them as extremely difficult. The containers are not maintained and are disgusting. I always come up with clothes to donate. But seem to ride around with them in a bag for weeks at a time in my trunk. These bins are much more convenient then riding around for days to find a goodwill. Just throw it in the bin in almost every centre you shop. NICE, they can donate or sell. NO STARS!!!!!!! Complete scam artists who dump their bins for their FOR PROFIT company on privately owned commercial properties so they can make a profit on people's personal items. They have not direct phone number or address that they will give out. If you ask them why, its because of insurance liability reasons. Of course, because everything they are doing they should and could get sued for! You have to leave a message and hope that someone calls you back. Even then, they WILL hang up on you if you ask them a question they don't want to answer. Ask for a supervisor and you will get tossed around from one guy to the next, but in reality its the same guy, he just puts you on hold and gives you different name...either Herbert or Yung. Finally, after several messages, someone called me back and reassured me the bin would be picked up from an address that meant nothing to me. They kept reassuring me it would be picked up, but I NEVER was asked for my address. They do this throughout LA and good luck getting rid of the bin. Only way I could get through to them was through my attorney, which of course costs me money. Ridiculous!!!! Go make your money off someone else, but you're not fooling anyone SCAM ARTISTS!!!!
