It's always hard to depart from your old electronics..and one fateful day my twenty year old Plasma gave up. Kept it in the garage thinking i can revive, but it's just gathering dust. Called OLM(Sorry nice lady on the phone, couldn't get your name)..and gathered enough courage to drop the first generation plasma TV. Just dropped off 3 boxes of electronics recycling at OLM Recyclers in San Jose, and it feels so good :). They took all our old coax cables, phone cables, dead remote controls, batteries, even VHS tapes! It's super easy, y'all! Hopefully most of what I gave them will make it's way to new life, and not to the landfill, and I now feel like there's less junk cluttering up the corners of my garage. One thing I learned, though - it's better if you can pre-sort into categories for them. After I saw the system they had going, I felt a little guilty passing off mish-mosh of stuff bundled into various bags inside boxes with lots of different things all mixed together. Next time, I'll organize it a bit before I drop it off. read more

Based on information on their website and other good reviews I brought a bag of household electronics to drop off for disposal. When I got there the gate was locked and there was a sign saying they are only open by appointment, with a phone number. This was not on the website. I called the number and the woman who answered asked what I had and said I could drop my stuff in the bin outside the gate. Apparently they are moving or something. So check before you go as they might not be there any more. read more

They take computers, monitors, IT equipment, laptops, DVRs, tablets, cell phones, and they'll come pick it up from your house if you schedule an appointment. Great service! read more

Great price for e-waste recycling!!! Had to dispose a 50" Plasma TV. I called multiple places and OLM was by far the cheapest. I was not expecting too much for their services (given they did not cost much) but was pleasantly surprised at the prompt arrival and very quick pickup. OLM recently had a special 'pick-up day' in our mobile home park and we were very appreciative of them providing their service for free. We were able to dispose of our old satellite dish and associated cables, etc.., as well as an old vcr, a couple dozen audio, computer, coax, phone and other various cables/components, and an old vacuum cleaner I'd intended to fix, but never found time to do so. OLM had scheduled a specific time to collect our junk and did so as promised. read more

This place accepted the Portalac batteries from my husband's startup. I didn't need to pay a fee. Just dropped them off. Call them first to make sure they will accept whatever e-waste you want to dispose. It'll save you the drive to their office. Btw, they only accept household batteries (triple As, double As etc) by the pound. read more

Solved all my recycling searching. My computers, laptops, TV, cardboard, BBQ Grill, & treadmill. The owner & staff are very helpful & friendly. I originally dropped of a few items and discovered they actually pick up items at your business or resident. Since the truck was heading back my way she was so kind to schedule the same day and picked up the cardboard, more computers, BBQ Grill, & treadmill that I placed on my drive way for a low fee. They recycle much more! Call for more information as I thought I was going to have to find & travel to several locations or schedule pick ups. OLM Recycling saved me so much time! read more

This is an efficient and friendly e-waste recycling place. I dropped off laptops, desktops, cables, calculators, keyboards, mice etc. etc. and the OLM staff helped me unload everything from my truck. Lynn gave me great directions, very easy to find, I am in and out of the facility in no time. Highly recommend, very service oriented...this is my favorite e-waste recycling center. OLM basically managed and performed our entire office clearance and eWaste. They do it all - from removing cubicles, disassembling whole data centers, to professionally recycling computer equipment including securely disposing harddrives. Very reliable in their schedule, and also flexible to work around individual requests: we were basically able to continue work in dedicated areas of our large office up until last minute while the rest of the office was teared down, which allowed for minimal work disruption due to office transition, and optimal lease utilization. Had an old large very heavy tv I wanted to get recycled but could not bring it to any of typical recycling centers as most don't offer to pick up from a private residence. I contacted them and in a day they were here picking up the item for free. Awesome service.Try them. read more

I did an internet search for "free e-waist recycling in San Jose". I had a computer monitor, a 20"TV and a large 70" TV to recycle. Only 1/2 of the sites answered their phones. Most places that came up on the free e-waste recycling charged a fee to take the items and a larger fee to pick them up. Most did not want to pick up unless I had many items = like 100+. Ken at All Goods finally text me back it would be $100 for a pick up. Ranch Town no longer takes e-waste when I called. They suggested Green Mountain. I called Green Mountain 2 times and the lady said they would take all 3 items at no charge if i dropped them off. i went by Green Mountain, they unloaded the 3 items with me then wanted to charger me for drop off of the 70" TV. I called Lynne at OLM on 4TH ST. She was very nice. I was able to drop off the TV with them after hours and there was no cost. I suggest not using the others that don't do what they say they will and go to OLM on 4TH in SJ. They truly have Free e-waist recalling. :) read more

I live in a manufactured/mobile home park with over 900 homes. I also resell these homes all over the South Bay area. When I sell a mobile home it is inevitable that most of the homeowners don't know what to do with their E-Waste (old/dead/bulky large TVs, cables, satellite dishes, computers, microwaves, printers, car batteries, etc) when they move out as well as those that move in... When OLM contacted me to see if there was a need in our park to collect E-waste with a One-Day campaign, I was thrilled. They came out a week before with flyers and distributed them to all 900+ homes. The day they came to pick up, they collected over 9000 lbs from 102 homes. WOW... OLM made it SO easy for us to eliminate LOTS of different electronic waste without having to leave our home! There are a lot of elderly that have no way to move, transport or even know how to get rid of these products; OLM came to their rescue. This is a top-notch organization and I look forward to many more campaigns. read more
