What a great find in the Drake area. Their dine in area was under construction but the decor and seating that could be seen are cute! Would be a great place to take a break from studying. We got the Ube Latte and the Thai Green Tea Milk Tea. The Ube latte was fantastic! Probably the best Ube tasting drink in the area. It's sweet and creamy. I added the egg pudding that was smooth and soft. And also coffee jelly to give a bit of a caffeine punch. Definitely a drink to try! The Thai Green Tea Milk tea was 50% sugar rather than regular and it was perfect. Not too sweet and not too bitter. The To Go cups it comes in is super nifty! It comes with a little tab that closes it so no spilling while traveling and also a place to lock it in place! You have to see it to realize the cuteness and niftieness lol. Without a doubt, this place is my absolute favorite boba place. I don't know why, but 8 degrees is just elite when it comes to their boba quality. I usually get the Signature Milk Tea with 50% sweetness and black pearls and it always manages to make my day better. The area might not be the best but 8 degrees is an absolute gem! The interior and inside is clean and well-maintained and it has a great atmosphere. They have self service kiosks with a great selection and pictures of all the drinks so you don't have to talk to a server unless you want to, which is a plus. Boba tea and rolled ice cream are my favorites so I've been really excited to try a place that has the best of both worlds. This place is awesome! I ordered a milk tea with black pearl boba, popping rose jelly, and cream. It was delicious! I really like the cups the tea comes in too. I created my own ice cream with avocado, banana, strawberry, raspberries, condensed milk, and whipped cream. The server that made my ice cream ended up noticing before I did that a hair had fallen in ishe told me what happened and that she would be making me a new one. I appreciated that she was honest and didn't just give it to me hoping I wouldn't notice. The ice cream was amazing! All of the employees were pleasant. If you want a nice variety and quality boba tea, 8 Degrees Boba is a great stop! They no longer serve ice cream, but do have a wonderful boba tea selection. This spot now has two self order and pay stations at the front of the store which were convenient! If you want a really great customer service interaction though, you will not get that here because of the minimal interactions with staff. I really enjoyed my tea and their cups have great integrity (like these bad boys are thick and it's so nice honestly). Would recommend! For milk teas, 8 degrees nailed the classic tiger striped brown sugar boba drink, called the "lava milk tea" for 4.5$!! It is on the sweeter side, and you can't adjust the sugar levels for this drink in particular. Boba was sweet and chewy, perfectly cooked. Milk was creamy and the brown sugar taste was strong. Tastes almost like Tiger Sugar brown sugar milk tea in Asia! We also got the Thai tea, and was good as well, could have a stronger Thai tea flavor though. I was a little disappointed in the inconsistency of the teas for the price you pay here. I ordered two milk teas, both with boba, same size, but one of the teas had twice as much ice as the other. When you pay $5.50 for a boba tea, it's important that you don't skimp on the "tea" part. I felt like I got a little bit cheated on the amount of liquid in one of my teas. I will also say that I wasn't a huge fan of the cup design. The cup is so tall, and the lid design gives limited straw mobility for sucking up the boba. Not the most effective. The price for one tea is also a little steep, in my opinion. I will say that the tea tasted good, and the tapioca pearls were fresh and perfectly chewy. I do wish they offered red bean as a topping! Pro tip: if you're like me and hate super sweet drinks, order your drink at 25% sweetness. Ordered the waffle and asked if it came with any toppings. He told me it came with boba--maybe it was a misunderstanding but I waited 5 minutes for a hot and soggy waffle wrapped up in a bag. With nothing on it. Might as well given me a warm dish towel to go. To the owner: if a waffle is hot and isn't allowed to cool before being placed inside of a SEALED BAG the excess steam from cooking it WILL CAUSE IT TO GO SOGGY AND WET. Going forward please allow it to cool and then package it. It was a terrible experience. Also please offer toppings. The photo you had available on the kiosk was wrapped in a cup, the only way I've had it before. I thought you were going to ask me what toppings I wanted on it. This is false advertising. Noticed this place while driving around in 100 degree weather and no A/C. Went in, and thought that the set up was efficient, order and pay via kiosk. Ordered called out by one of the two employees. Nice decor albeit simple, had a mango smoothie with black boba, companion had a strawberry banana smoothie with boba. Have been here a few times now, and overall I like the space and think the drinks are fine but my order has been wrong/I have just not gotten my drink all 3 times that I have been here. Luckily the staff is really nice and also good about fixing the mistake right away but I wish this just wouldn't have to be an issue in the first place. I think the main problem is with their pager system. Honestly for a store this size I really think that the pager system slows them down and can add confusion when the ticket number doesn't match up with the number on the pager. I was there once and all of the drinks between several customers got mixed up because of this. The space is small enough that it would be just as efficient to just call the number on the ticket itself. Some of the other issues are just carelessness. Even after reading the order back to me correctly, the order I received was wrong. Like I said the staff here is amazingly nice and will fix it right away though! The drinks here are definitely on the sweeter side. Ordered their rose black milk tea with the lowest amount of sugar they have on their menu and it was still way too sweet for me to finish. The other times I have ordered their oolong milk tea which I enjoyed. Overall they have a good variety of milk teas and fruit teas and lots of toppings to choose from. People playing board games at the tables. Comfortably busy. Atmosphere was great. I got the classic milk tea with black pearls and cream cheese topping. It was about $5.50 and worth it. Super delicious and the amount of ice was perfect - not too much to feel cheated, not too little that it all disappears too soon. I'm not sure why I waited so long to visit this place. I can't wait to return and will be bringing friends/family with me. The best part about my experience was definitely the employees. There were about 4-5 there. I appreciated that the business owner put together a young, diverse staff. Their energy, attitude, customer service, and ability to operate a business efficiently was appreciated. Unfortunately pretty disappointed in my experience. I ordered the peach black tea with honey pearl. I asked if it had chunks of peach in it and the cashier said no. Then when I received the tea there were chunks in it and it had to be remade. The boba were great, but the tea was not. It almost tasted like there was soap in it... the atmosphere was really great though, and the staff was very apologetic when I went back to the counter. The cups were very cool too! My hubby ordered the "I am groot" with bobba drink and he really enjoyed it! He said it was like drinking an oreo with bobba. My sister ordered the Kombucha tea with boba, and she was in heaven, she said it was a perfect blend of sour and tea flavors! I was surprised with the amount of options of add ins you could get!
