Today I visited with my boyfriend and upon first walking in, I knew I wanted a matcha latte, but since it was cold outside I wanted it to be hot. I asked the server if he could add the extra cream topping to it and he was very accommodating. It's not typical for someone to order that so he made sure to let me know that he wanted to know how it tasted My boyfriend ordered the Red Dragon tea and we both bought pins (which you pull at random from a box for 3 bucks each) and he really enjoyed it! My hot matcha latte with crème brûlée cream was really good as well and incredibly sweet, I think I will order something similar to it when I come back. Overall, the service was great, the drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I decided to try this place out since it was recommended to me by acquaintances and co-workers. Coming in, it was a cute little shop. It was not busy the day I went so it was quick for us to order the drinks. The drink selection itself was very abundant, and there were also some specials that are unique to the shop. The inside had a lot of monopoly board games, a foosball table and jenga tower to play while you enjoy your boba. I got a Coffee Boba and my boyfriend got a Love Potion, both were equally alright in terms of taste. The Love Potion reminded me of a fizzy-fun soda, and the Coffee Boba was what you'd expect. However, I feel like the price was too much for what I got. That may be my own opinion, but when I compare it to other boba places, this one is certainly one of the most expensive I've been to. I think this place is good to try at least once, but I won't be coming here any time soon unless someone paid me to go. read more

Zenko tea has such a large selection of drinks! As someone from Southern California, I am very exposed to so many boba shops. Zenko tea is a good boba shop relative to the ones in California. It gets the cravings satisfied. The employees are pleasant and helpful in my indecisiveness to choose drinks, and they are knowledgeable about what to recommend or what their popular drinks have been. The athnosphere of the boba shop is very pleasant, with plants and wood accents all around and even board games. 3.5 stars overall. A pretty decent local boba shop near Merle Hay Mall. They do stamp cards to get free drinks too. Their menu has fruit teas, carbonated drinks, milk teas, smoothies, and non-caffeinated drinks. The decor inside is cute to play board games or hangout with friends. I got the Fresh Mango Milk with boba and it was not bad! It was creamy, but had an artificial mango syrup taste to it. Didn't actually have a fresh mango flavor. The boba was decent. What a cute place to get a yummy drink treat! The atmosphere is very casual and quite with staff that's quick for service. We got the Wintermelon Milk tea with Boba and Flan cake topping! So worth it. It's sweet and floral like wintermelon but has a slight bitterness after from the tea. The flan cake is a great caramel flavor added with a smooth texture. We also got the brown sugar milk tea with boba. It's sweet, creamy, has the classic molasses/caramel taste from the brown sugar. Would recommend to friends and family. First off, it is soooo cute inside! There is an arch with a lovely mural that's perfect for taking photos, and a comfy swinging bench. I ordered brown sugar milk tea with tapioca boba and some flan because that sounded interesting. My husband ordered coconut mango smoothie with tapioca boba. The drinks came out quickly, and tasted delicious. The boba are chewy and seem to be made fresh as they were initially warm in the drink. I would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again in the future. There was a sign outside saying they offer avocado smoothies now, and I would love to try that. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place!! The staff here is wonderful and the shop itself is cute and has enough space for games and chairs and a couple tables to hang out. I love that they have a decent selection of fruit teas. They also let you adjust the sugar level on the fruit teas (not the milk tea) -- I like that flexibility. I'm not a huge fan of boba so I'm glad they have grass jelly. Though, I will say their grass jelly is much more dense than other bubble tea spots I've been -- Verdict is still up on how I feel about that. I had the sunset (strawberry & lychee) and double melon (watermelon and winter melon) fruit teas with 25 % sugar. Next time I'll try the sunset with 0% sugar because that was still very sweet. I'm thankful that we have another decent bubble tea spot in Des Moines. Im looking forward to trying all their fruit tea flavors. read more

This is my second visit to this unique shop in the strip mall just south of MerleHayMall. On this visit, we got two fruit boba teas, the spring and summer ones, both came out with a sealed top, so no potential spilling of the product. They also have two sizes of insulated containers one can buy for future purchases. We will likely get one or two the next trip here. The drinks were very flavorful, which made for the 5 star rating. I love this place! It's cute, cozy and inviting. The person behind the counter who greeted me was very friendly. I love that they have a wide variety of flavors. I ordered my favorite flavor honeydew in the milk tea with tapioca pearls. It was delicious and refreshing. I also like that they don't fill your whole cup with ice so you get a lot of milk tea in your cup. The boba was cooked perfectly and was soft and chewy. They also told us about where they came up with the flavors and techniques they use. They also shared that the main artwork on the wall was a custom piece designed by their family in Vietnam. The place was busy, filled with friends enjoying conversation and kids playing one of the many games available (foosball, giant jenga, board games.) We didn't need to wait long for our order. We were eating at chipotle and drove by this place. Parking was easy, store was clean. I already looked at the menu beforehand so I knew what I wanted to order. This fruit tea costed how much?! $5.25?! For a MEDIUM sized cup? I'm so hurt. I would be less hurt if the drink (Eden Tea) was good - but it tasted literally like fruit syrup with water and ice. It's been sitting in the fridge for the past 2 hours, and I only drank 1/4 of the cup. Can't decide to keep it or toss it. Unless you really enjoy drinking sugar, I think y'all should skip this drink or get it at 50% sugar (or even less). I went today and got a beverage. I wanted something low carb. I'm not sure what I got was low carb but it was excellent. I got a honeydew milk tea. I'm not a tea drinker or a milk drinker, so this was relatively weird to me, but I did it and I'm glad. It was such a refreshing drink. I got the bobba in it as well. I didn't care for them. Not sure what flavoring they were, but they were black, next time I'll try a fruit flavored one. The drink itself was so good. I had it gone in no time and was wanting more.
