Full disclosure: I am not an ice cream fanatic like many people are. I appreciate a little bit of ice cream sometimes, and it's usually Ben & Jerry's cookie dough or cherry Garcia. Given that, I still enjoyed this place. It's basically a food truck parked on the east (right) side of Gateway in an empty lot, across the mall where the Paderno outlet and Canadian tire is, before the Sawridge Inn. Their website said they closed early but on a recent Friday evening (around 9:15pm) they were still open. I noticed that they had a sign with summer hours on the way out but wasn't able to snap a pic. As I recall, a single scoop is $4, a double scoop $6, and $1 extra for a waffle cone. I had the black cherry ice cream and my husband the cookie dough. Both were fine, not great. The cookie dough had a faint maple taste to it which was unusual. The cherry ice cream had lots of cherries in it but it wasn't the best I've ever had. However, I do like that there are 80 flavour choices... There is a lack of good ice cream places in Edmonton and this place is worth checking out for the choices alone. I'd come back but only if I was in the area. read more
