Ahh, drag shows...my guilty pleasure. Yeah that's me in the corner with the sunglasses and hoodie on praying that no one sees me. Yeah right... I'm always front row!!!! I have seen quite a few but when our waitress at the restaurant we dined at recommended 801 Bourbon for an after dinner treat, we decided that we had to go. I wasn't expecting much from the setup but the opening host/ess (not sure what to form to write) made me laugh so hard that I knew I was in the right place. Very vulgar, I like it! Sushi was the opening act and I presume the owner of the establishment and boy did she put on a show! Such a personality she has. Definitely rocked the place. Absolutely loved it here. Didn't spend any time at the bar downstairs (I don't think many people do) but the drag show upstairs is where the fun is. If you're looking for a great drag show where the queens don't take it too seriously, are funny and want to have a great time with you in the audience, this is the show for you. It was such a great time I look forward to going back. Every show is different, and if you come in for the 9pm show, you can stay for the 11pm show for free. The women were gracious, funny, and appreciative of the support and tips from the audience. Very engaging and wanted to make your time at the show the best. I love drag shows and my friends and husband had never seen one so we tried this place. We loved it! Each entertainer had a a lot of different style songs and outfits that showed a variety of talents. We laughed, admired their skills and beauty, and had a great time. Marilyn was a great emcee with witty bits in between acts and tight skills during the lip sync. The staff was friendly and attentive. The best part though? The drinks were totally reasonable. I expected a pretty big bill from past experience at other places but they were more than reasonable for a show. Was this the best drag show ever? Probably not. But seriously, for $10 bucks this was definitely the best hour and a half of live entertainment that you can get. read more

We went there for the kinky couple party during fantasy fest 2021. First, the door guy "Ma" I believe his name was, was VERY RUDE. We were told to read and sign the rules but couldn't see it because they lost power. When my wife used her phones flashlight to read the rules, MA yelled at her. Sign without reading?! He physically shooed my hand away when I was about to initial in the "wrong corner" of the rule sheet.. Then, went upstairs and waited for power to come on. It was hot and crowded but we waited. 1 performer did a show and it was really good. But she was the only one! Nothing else happened. We talked to one of the queens who was very nice. We asked the bartender for a couple drinks and she was quite rude also. I had a group with me, we paid over $300 a couple, for what!? Rude staff and ONE 15 minute show. This was THE WORST part of our Fantasy Fest. FF is great but avoid this place like the plague! read more

The poor review is for the drag queen hosting bingo on the second floor. She was very rude and racist during her "performance". It's a SHAME! My past experiences here were all positive. The new attendant, that was an older gentleman who sets up the shows is so rude and uninviting. We had promo cards that he vehemently denied. (We were told 1 hr earlier that were expectable at the door) There is a way to conduct business and this wasn't it. Unfortunately they missed out on a party of 7 for drinks and tips. I actually think this place serves after 4 am because we ended up here two different nights after getting ran out of Sloppy Joe's. And I'm pretty damn sure that was after last call. It also didn't hurt we had to walk by it to our place on Amelia Street. Anyway, the beers were pretty cheap. The service was also pretty good considering we were ordering 10+ beers at a time. (We were a large group of straight guys, so that drew some looks.) It wasn't also wasn't very crowded, but why would it be at 4 am? I also met a cute South American chick named Terè from Ecuador. I'm not sure why you were with that girl you were with, but oh well. She sure got pissed when I started talking to you. Old school drag, saw the drag queens penis a lot (that was their gimmick). The host came out in jeans and a sparkly top...enough said. Overall this was not the type of drag for me. This was a ghetto drag show! The first 20 minutes we were there the tacky slide show from 1995 was kind of a turn off. While we were sitting there at the bar waiting for the show to start...no joke...a cockroach dropped down from the ceiling and landed on my hand and then flew off onto the floor. I was frankly appalled and skeeved out.....we looked up at the ceiling and there grime and dirt like I've never seen. I hate to be this harsh, but I feel as a small business owner that Bourbon should be aware and cognizant of cleanliness in their establishment. read more

We first went to Aqua, but they said they couldn't honor reservation. Despite the fact that I called and emailed the manager and received confirmation two weeks prior to the 12 of us driving from Orlando to attend their show. We stopped here while doing the tourist walk up and down Duval Street because we had purchased the Key West Bar Card which gaurantees 2 for 1 drinks for the first purchase in any bar named on the card. It was mid afternoon and the place was fairly empty. The bartender acknowleged us and said he would be with us momentarily, which became about 10 minutes as he tended to the gay clientele and ignored us. We were about to leave when he came over to take our order. I ordered a Miller Lite and Deb ordered a mixed drink. Once served the bill was $16.00. I attempted to use the Bar Card and was advised they didn't accept the card during the season. The bartender was snippy at the least. I really felt like we were unwelcome because we were a couple, not gay. We should have left but paid the bill, finished our drinks and left. read more

Enjoyed myself immensely! This was my first drag show and the Queens were awesome!!!! The drinks were great and fairly reasonable. For 9 drinks and a coke, I spent $66. Joel and Barb are great bartenders. There was a slight technical issue, but the experience of the Queens made up for it. As for the bars on Duval street, this is definitely one of the better ones (although not sure that's saying much compared to some of the other bars which are downright atrocious). The drinks are strong and not too expensive and the atmosphere inside is definitely fun and lively. After a few drinks, my group and I checked out the drag show which was a little disappointing: we were expecting a comedy show but instead it was mostly a lip syncing performance with a little comedy mixed in. It was a Tuesday after all so I'm sure the shows are better for the weekend. Either way it was a fun show! read more
