Mike I'm sure you come across this a lot, people are upset about you having to charge them so much money for a few minutes of time, trust me I get it, we all have to make a living but charging over $125 for a short van ride to the call and spending less than15 minutes is excessive, unfair and just not right. Maybe, just maybe you should try to cut people a break every once in a while, especially when you don't actually do anything for them once you roll up...it's called Aloha...you should get some...be fair and give to people when you can, especially if it's little sweat off your back...you will get back more than twofold later in life. I lost my keys out in Waikii ranch on a saturday night .. called other locksmiths claiming to be 24/7 companys but they werent able to do the job because they didnt have the tools to make a chipped key on sight and needed to have a dealer send them a code or something like that which maybe was an excuse i dont know . But called 808 the next day ON A SUNDAY... EASTER SUNDAY!! and he was SO ready to do whatever it took to get me mobile again.... He even picked me up in kona and gave me a ride all the way out to waikii ranch where my car was !!! Mike was awesome good conversation and all . I hope this is the right business. This one says Hilo, but I believe he is also in Kona. I needed a new jeep chip key(mine shit the bed while we were camping, for whatever reason.) My jeep had been stuck at the mechanics for-ev-er! (Cuz they didn't have the right equipment for chip key and were pussy footin' around. I called 808locksmith on referral and was not disappointed. Mike at 808 was super extra great! He came half way across the island fast as lightening. He arrived at the time he said he would and finished the job before I could even get there. Sure, there's no cabs on my part of the island, so I was literally running the 2 miles to get to him. We spoke and he told me; stop running! I'll come pick you up! Thank goodness, cuz holy hot muggy weather, Batman! He had my two chipped keys, plus a ghost key for good measure. He didn't charge me and arm and leg for the second key and ghost key was on the house. He even offered to help with the costs in case the mechanics were jerking me around. We all know how shady chain mechanics can be. Everything was handled in such professional manner with such a quickness, I could barely contain my gratitude. He's pretty easy on the eyes too which makes everything a better experience, let's be honest. More importantly, he had my back and got me driving in no time. First time using this company. I will not be recommending for services to anyone. Was able to get a relatively quick appointment (3 days out). Was told of the service charge of $29 but wasn't able to get a final quote to change out 2 locks; 1 sliding door lock and a regular deadbolt and knob combo. Took 2 days to complete because the technician didn't have the right tools needed for the job, had the wrong bag. Was told the deadbolt/knob was too corroded to rekey so it needed to be changed out. Sure, I was thinking can't be too expensive as I know they can range from $30-60 and up by brand. On a positive note, the technician who did the service was a very nice man but said he didn't handle the billing or the quotes.
