Totally random but I got my hands on a cassette tape with Frank Delima's song he wrote for KC Drive In about their KC Waffle Dog! The Asato Family that owned KC Drive In found it and I immediately started looking for a local business that could digitize it. There are a number of digitization businesses on the mainland but I really didn't want to mail this treasure and risk it getting lost or damaged. I dropped it off to 808Burners. Opted to purchase a thumbdrive and have the files placed on that (vs. a DVD). Got a call a couple days later saying job was done! They saved it in two formats for me, too! I was so happy with their work that I went back later with some VHS tapes I had been meaning to digitize forever. Seriously, go and digitize your VHS tapes and cassette tapes before it is too late. They have a lovely YELP deal where you can buy a YELP voucher for $15 which is good for $30 at 808Burners. One use per visit. You can also purchase vouchers to give as a gift to someone. Located in Harbor Center, so there is ample parking. Service was professional and quick. Bonus was Ige's Aiea being located in same lot and I could go pick up food afterwards! read more

Just so happened to be in the area and looked up where I could get a passport picture done. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes and the lady helping us was so friendly and sweet. I had 4 videos that needed to be copied onto DVDs. Walter said can be done and should be done by the end of the following week. I dropped it off on a Thursday morning. He said he was busy and was working on some videos that were in bad shape. He said mine looks like it's in good condition (I keep it in the plastic case) so give him till the end of the week. I felt one week was fair so I didn't ask him to rush it. I call him Thursday one week later and he tells me that he hasn't started it yet and will need 2-3 days more and that there was no rush comment. That additional time would drag into the following week. Unacceptable!!! If I didn't have a deadline, the additional time would have been okay. I thought I'd drive there and explain the urgency which fell on deaf ears. If you're okay with a business owner telling you that "everyone wants their stuff right away" or "my heart is not in it when I'm rushed" or if you're made to wait while the owner talks story with the prior customer, then check them out. I would rather take my business somewhere else. Which is what I did. I decided to use this business based on their multiple 5 star review... The one star is for his comment on the media format. I called 808Burners to transfer my videos to dvd. Talked with Walter the owner. He said yes he can. So next day i stopped by. They are located in Harbor Center, Hekaha St. In the back of Cutter Ford. Plenty parking. Its a small mom and pops shop. Which i like! You gotta support local! Walter was there and i asked him various questions about the transfer. He answered all of them. Turn around time? Depends how much of a workload he has. My first 3 camcorder videos took about 2 1/2 weeks. Which i think is not bad at all. Videos came out ok. Tech back in the early 2000s wasnt so good lol! Plus now i have 4k tv and 4k dvd player. Cannot compare to nowadays tech. Even with our videos from our phones. At any rate we really enjoyed watching our old videos on dvd. 808 burners did a phenomenal job on my late mother's Kodak 8 mm films that were sitting in storage for at least 5 decades. Their editing was extremely professional and it had background nice music along with the videos. They put it on a USB drive and I was able to make copies for my family members. I'm very glad that I found them and that I got this done. It took a few months, so please be patient as this is a locally owned family business. Lifesavers! Quick service and great price. The staff was very friendly & kept me updated on process which in the end Saved me a lot of money and time. I had 2 VHS tapes from my pageants and old dance performances circa 1990-2000 that were converted to DVD. There were spots on one and didn't think it could be salvaged. Ever wonder what you are going to do with those old VHS home videos? Take them over to Walter at 808Burners. I had a 20+ yr old video I wanted to transfer to digital and they did a fantastic job. I provided the thumb drive and they provided a disc. TIP: Since it's a local independent shop sometimes they close to step out; so call ahead. I called to see if they do passport photos (many places stopped). The guy said they were about to close but he had work to do so I could still go there and get the photos taken. I got there and within 10 minutes I was out of there with my photos. The guy there was friendly and good with the Covid precautions What a great service. read more

Great customer service. We came here to make copies of the dvd of our wedding and they were able to get them made right away. It took only 20 minutes to make 5 copies. Came here yesterday 01/06/2020 because I needed a passport picture for my passport renewal and it was A LOT faster than I expected. The staff was great and everything was pretty much done within 10 minutes. If you need a passport photo as soon as possible this is the place to go. They also convert your VHS and reel films to DVD if you need to. Thought that was pretty neat! read more

Super quick & friendly service! I wanted to convert my wedding video to mp4 so I called before heading there to make sure they were open. There were a couple people ahead of me when I arrived so I thought I would have to leave my dvd and come back another day. When it was my turn he told me he could do it right away if I could wait abt 10 minutes. We talked for a bit while waiting and before I knew it, it was done. Highly recommend! Walter at 808 burners is the best! From customer service to pricing. Can't find companies or businesses that will provide the service that they provide. I've never operated a projector/screen set up, he took the time to do the set up, explain and do a test run. This is a worse place I have to go to make my CDs. Three times in a row I have to stand outside of the Store to wait for the worker to open the door. If you don't want to start the business on time, maybe you should change your hours for operation in stead of having customers wait outside during your office hour.after I made the complain, owner, Walter was able to apologize for his tardy by offering special on customizing my CD cover. Thank you to Walter & his mom for hooking up my VHS to DVD! Much appreciated!! The process was pretty smooth, although I'm naturally a paranoid person, and getting worried something might happen to my parent's home videos! But I am happy with the DVDs. It took about a week to get my DVDs and tapes are still fine. I did have to call to follow up, and then they were able to assure me to pick it up on my day off. They have a bunch of other services as well, like passport photos, professional transfers, audio/visual, etc. read more

They look out after everyone in the group and always give helpful "heads up" suggestions about the place we are visiting next... and sometimes suggest what items are good to buy and bring home. I've done some Air & Sea tour packages going to Japan and China. I just recently came back from the Silk Road Xinjiang Tour and had a blast. For this tour, we had IMO the best local guide, her name is Risa. She spoke passionately about Uyghur culture and was one of the few local guides that I did not notice anyone falling asleep to on the bus (at least from where I was sitting in the back of the bus). In contrast with other different tours... the local guide will speak in a monotone voice and give text-book like lectures on the bus. People will then start to tune out and fall asleep. The company tour leader would then have to interrupt and tell a joke to wake everyone up. Pleasantly... this was not the case with Risa and this Air & Sea Xinjiang tour. The group also found Risa fun to hang out with on this tour. The Air & Sea Tour leader for this particular Silk Road Xinjiang tour, Derrick K., was outstanding and organized. He kept everything together like super glue and made things go as smoothly as possible. Having great local guides and tour leaders are what help make any tour successful. Actually... all of the other Air & Sea Tour leaders on my previous trips (Ryan, Mike, Derick S.) were outstanding as well. What I like about Air & Sea overall is that their tour itineraries are carefully thought out. They don't try to cram too much stuff into one day like other companies do as that can be tiring. Air & Sea tours give one the experience to try foods that are not usually found in Honolulu. I've been on their Tibet, Kyushu, Hokkaido, Harbin, Niigata, and lately Xinjiang tours. All were great. These Air & Sea tours have been a culturally educational and fun experience for me.

We gathered all the info and went down to Skyway Express (located by Singsing Restaurant). Simon filled all our Visa forms, collected our passports and called us if the consulate needed additional information. It took a little over a month to get back our passports with our China Visa. Definitely recommend this business. Total cost was $350 each person ($140 for the visa and the rest for their services) - money well spent instead of us having to fly to California and stay or fly back there when the passports were ready.

They were also going to visit Dali, LiJiang, XiZhou, and ZhongShan. I haven't been to these cities, so I wanted to go! Luckily, my friend, Irene, agreed to be my roommate! We went to their office in Chinatown Honolulu to meet with the travel agents at Skyway Express. They processed our paperwork for Visas, gave us itineraries, and even hosted a welcome/orientation luncheon for everyone to meet! The process was quite smooth, even with the refund for our flight since we added on a few days extra in Hong Kong before and after China. We paid for our flights on Expedia which turned out to save us some money! Skyway Express booked the five hotels, land tours, bullet train ride between KunMing and Dali, and flight between LiJiang and GuangZhou! The package included all admission fees to various museums and theaters, air-conditioned buses, most meals, tips for the drivers and tour guides, and unlimited bottled water! We're looking forward to the next Narcissus Queen's Tour!

Karen, Ken, and I were walking through Chinatown Cultural Plaza (in Honolulu) on our way to lunch when we saw this travel agency right across from the parking lot elevator. Out of curiosity, I went in and asked if they could process my application for a VISA. The knowledgeable man said that they would be able to assist and gave me information on what documents were needed. One week later (on St. Patrick's Day), after I got my passport photo, copy of my Drivers license and valid passport, I returned and presented these documents. I was in and out of the office within 5 minutes! I didn't even have to pay for parking in the Chinatown Cultural Plaza! Less than 2 weeks later, I got a phone call that informed me that my Visa had arrived. I got cash at the bank ($185) and picked up my Visa in less than 15 minutes so I didn't have to pay for parking again! I received clear instructions on the use and terms of the Visa and prompt, courteous service. I am very ready for my next adventure!

The first style are who would just login into computer and look for the cheapest seats available on line, book the best available seats next to each other if possible and ASAP try very hard to reduce the connecting flight time, avoiding stay at airport until the next day. Type one people would have so much pressure put so much pressure on yourself since there are so many people are seeking the same destination and seats are together. It becomes much more difficult when booked with 2 international airlines together, the walking distance of an unknown gate to the connecting flight, try to make the long stop over short and avoid overnight stay in a hotel because you will pay for it. Alice has booked us in a section that seats were not together, reduce to the waiting time to minimum, no hotel needed and got us almost $1,000.00 cheaper. She checks the seating configuration daily, change our seating arrangement to a cheapest seats.....in a total of 3 weeks. This is how wonderful Alice Wang is by arrange out seats, no overnight stay between with cheapest tickets. I have already told her that she can work on our tickets yearly. SHE IS AWESOME PERIOD and spent 3 weeks to get all my request done while other travel agents would just tell me that this is the best I can do. It's so sad that almost all the travel agents are closed for good. Booking your own tickets is not as easy as you think. When there is no connecting flight or overnight stay and travel within the USA booking by yourself maybe OK, but international route maybe much easier on yourself. One thing most of us can't do is to put the seat(s) on hold to exchange for better and cheaper ones next day. Booking on line is more difficult on international route with more than Honolulu to Las Vegas. THANK YOU for all of your hard work to make our flight much easier. I am more than happy.

No response, left multiple messages with customer service, spoke to a rep 2 days ago in the service dept, always the same answer, "C" is not in today, but when she comes in she'll call you back, and we'll also let another manager "J" know as well. Meaningless dribble...no calls after leaving multiple messages from anyone. Something tells me something is "going on" (management issues, financial issues, etc.) at that company, and not in a good way. When they don't respond to customers and in effect leave decision making to one person, who chooses to either not show up to work or is too "busy" to even return calls to customers, something is definitely wrong. Maybe they need to replace her or the entire management. Customers are not being serviced properly. Next step for me is to reach out to the State DCCA to file a complaint. If you feel you're not being treated fairly I suggest you do the same. Some action has to be taken to wake these people up or else it will remain the same. Me, I'm outta here with these guys, we had service for years but seems current management is sub-par and not taking care of customers. Watch for more reviews, if the negative trend continues, it's telling you something is really going on. Good Luck in the New Year!
