Here's how it all started- damn windows 7 did some recent updates, soon as is restarted it just got stuck on the windows screen. Tried restarting it again, no joy.. that's when I got infuriated and started contacting geek squad and a few other computer repair places around the area, honestly got somewhat of a run-around. Honestly Mark my was last option, but turned out to be the best option. Within the hour of calling him brought him in the laptop and he just went to work on it non-stop. I could honestly say the guy works around the clock. I ended up picking up the computer at 9PM, throughout the repair he kept me well informed of what was going on the whole entire time along with recommendations. Ended up reformatting the HD, due to a bad sector. Soon as I picked up and played around with it, seemed like computer was a hell of lot quicker and better. Plus Mark was able to hook-it up with better programs too, can't complain about that. Wasn't until the next morning after it did some updates the issue appeared again. I called Mark right away and he already knew the possible issue, a bad HD. Before dropping it off he gave me a few options on what's next, ended up replacing the HD, and had it dropped it off within the hour. Like earlier he kept me well informed of what was going on the whole entire time. Upon picking up the computer and restarting it again a few times just to make sure, it worked like a charm and once again he hooked it up nicely. Actually ended up getting a software upgrade for windows 7, could not complain about that. Overall I highly recommend to anyone. Very profession, courteous, and most importantly gives you that complete customer satisfaction. So on a Thursday night, I was using my computer when all of a sudden the screen faded to black! It wasn't exactly a fade......it just went! I knew something was wrong, but I was just hoping that it would come back after a few hours of rest. Nope. Luckily, I was able to use my cell phone to browse for help in the meantime and that's when I came across 818-PCservice and Mark. My year old laptop screen went out, so I took it to Mark who ordered the part and repaired it within a few days. I cannot be happier with the repair. I paid for parts plus $75 labor. Much better than having to buy a new laptop or send it to the manufacturer who would have charged me much more. He knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. A couple of minor points to mention are that Mark's business operates out of his house. So, be prepared to drive to a residential neighborhood to drop off your computer. Oh, and his room-mates are VERY rude - they don't seem to approve of people knocking on the door to drop off items. Also, Mark didn't give me any kind of written quote or receipt when I dropped off my laptop, so you have got to be pretty trusting. Last, I had to call Mark a couple of times to get an update on the repair. Overall, Mark appears to be a little inexperienced running an actual business, so he misses a few of these small but important details. Mark was awesome. My 13" Macbook Pro froze saturday night upon turning it off then back on it had the "grey screen of death". I tried all the quick fixes recommended online but nothing was working. After freaking out because it was now sunday and all the computer repair shops were closed, I found 818-PCservice through yelp. **This review started in November of 2015 and ended April of 2016.*** Oh, boy. So my computer died and I went looking for the best IT people in town. Met and found out I needed a new fan and they would order it. No problem. They gave me a quote which I was happy with. Then they found out the motherboard died as well so that had to be ordered. In the meantime I had moved out of state so I told them I'd get my stuff in order. They offered to ship out my laptop for an extra $20 which I agreed. I pay online and call them to confirm and get a tracking number. They confirm my payment and say they'll call me back in 20 minutes with the # since they just opened up. Five hours later I get a voicemail message saying that since it was 60+ days they took out the motherboard and gave it to someone else! Hold up! I dropped my laptop off on 12/10/15. Per the agreement they will hold it up until 60 days from completion date before they consider it abandoned. It was completed on 1/13/16, so going by that logic I would've had until 3/13/16. I paid on 2/3/16, well within the 60 days. Even if say, we went by the drop off date of 12/10, I had until 2/10. And I also kept them in the loop with my situation so it wasn't like I was not going to get my laptop back. Now I have to wait even longer so they can get an additional part, install it, and ship it to me. Not happy about this at all. Good lord, it never ends! So I finally get my laptop back and I'm relieved that it's here except THEY DIDN'T SHIP MY CHARGER AND LAPTOP CASE!! Are you freaking kidding me? How can you ship like that and not realize that you forgot to send my other two items?? I am so pissed because now I have to call them back and deal with this mess, and wait for it to arrive in order to use my computer. Finally received my charger and case, when I noticed that 1) my battery no longer latches on so my battery won't charge. Second, it was working ok the 1st day, then the next day I couldn't turn it on! Only the caps light would flash but nothing on the screen. I tried the "switch the ram cards and see what happens" thing but nothing happened. I was so fed up that I took it to a local computer place and they will check on it. This is the same thing that happened in the beginning when my motherboard died!! I'm so pissed because I spent $$ to get it fixed and it didn't work! So I took my laptop to another guy and they discovered that it was a Motherboard failure. Hmm..how could a replacement motherboard fail from the time they put it in and shipped it to me? I asked the guy to see if there is a way to tell if the motherboard placed in there was the original one (the dead one) or the "replacement". He told me that it looked like a motherboard that wasn't replaced. So let's recap: I pay over $300 for a fixed fan and motherboard. Fan is fixed. Motherboard is not. I am asking 818 to refund my money since they didn't fix the problem. I am beyond pissed that I wasted all this time on them when I could've bought myself a new computer instead. They were able to fix my computer for me, and were very informative in each step: ordering the new motherboard and proving the tracking number, e-mailing me a video of the process, etc. I finally received my laptop and it's back in working condition. I appreciate that they were able to fix it and the hard work they put into it. read more

Called Mark on a Sunday (yes he's open on SUNDAY's - when all emergencies seem to occur) 30 minutes before closing. He took the time to answer our questions and said to bring the Mac on over. Was able to diagnose with an educated guess over the phone and pretty much stuck to that diagnoses throughout the process. Had the whole diagnostics test done by Monday morning, part ordered and replaced as quickly as humanly possible and BOOM by Thursday my 2009 Mac Book Pro is back in my hands works better now than I ever remember it working! He applies the diagnostic test fee to your bill if you choose to have him do the work (PLUS) - a wee bit of a struggle coordinating pickup schedule (minus) but all's well that ends well and Mark will absolutely be my go to guy for Mac issues in the future...not that we'll have any issues for quite some time!! I had a gaming laptop that i was using everyday just stop turning on one day.
