They give you a date but it happens they call you after a week "oh yeah your laptop been ready we tried calling you" which is lie. and also he has a promotion on yelp which he himself tell his customer to not buy which is really confusing. He was accusing me of why buying the yelp promo before going there, idk what else was i suppose to do?! if he doesn't appreciate the deal why he has it there. And when you talking to them for the price they agreed on and they want to go in and double check he asked me for my laptop which was super rude, its not anyone fault they work at home and they think everyone are like them. and they didn't even do what they were suppose to do which was fixing my keyboards, it feels the exact same way as before i took it there, never going back again and don't fall for the reviews he tell everyone to do it for discount. My hard drive crashed where I couldn't retrieve the data on my own. After hearing about my issue and my concern for the recovered data, Mark quoted me a fair price and told me what to expect for this type of repair. He worked extremely hard to recover the most important data before worrying about the less important stuff. He was in constant (but not overwhelming) communication with me about the status of the repair. Upon completion, I was actually charged less because my hard drive needed to be sent to a clean room to be repaired to retrieve more data. That is a separate fee for another company. Mark charged less because of how expensive that other service was. I was happy and surprised that he reduced his price. I was ready and willing to pay his rate. I am very satisfied with the price, the work, the efficiency, the honesty, and the professionalism. I accidentally dropped my macbook and broke the LCD. I called the guys at 818-pcservice they gave me an option of at-homt or dropoff. Dropoff is cheaper, so I went that route. Excellent service! It started with a small crack on the screen of my 13'' Macbook Air. It had spread like an infection, and my screen was impossible to look at!!! I did my research and called various repair shops in the SF Valley / West LA area. Other places were saying $490-$500 for a new screen; the Apple store itself tried to swindle me for $600-700! Others quoted $200, but as Mark warned me, these were likely older / knock-off screens that won't last long. I had an old Apple desktop (G5) I mean like 10 years old, that hasn't been powered in 8 years due to a bad board (?) my 12 year old thought baby photos of her didn't exist, and voila. They happened to have that super old part to turn my computer on and transfer photos. That very same 12 year old downloaded a virus onto my new iMac, from a Minecraft Mod (beware) and i attempted to follow instructions for removal on a forum and screwed everything up. So one morning I'm trying to enjoy a video on YouTube when my computer starts vibrating and the screen goes blue. I tried looking for a PC repair place on Yelp, and while other places were closer to my home, 818-PCservice had better reviews, so I decided to give them a call. The first thing I noticed was that the person who picked up my phone call really tried to tell me what was going on with my computer, he was patient, and seemed genuinely ready to assist me. He told me it sounded like a virus so I brought my computer to him. You can count on regular updates. Whoever was working on my computer called me periodically to tell me any progress that had been made and reassured me that the computer would be fixed. Ultimately, the computer was fixed, and he even put an anti-virus program in the computer, added a memory stick, got rid of useless things on my computer, and even took care of this personal mistake I had made in creating two back up files in one hard drive, etc. for only $117. I'm almost sure that everything was an extensive process and they worked many hours on my computer. Ive had a problem with my MacBook Keyboard/trackpad for some time now but I can't bring myself to go to the Apple Store because of how high they quoted me to get it fixed. I've had many IT/Tech guys do work on my equipment in the past. MARK is one of the best. Found him on Google maps on the fly cause my usual go-to guy was unavailable and I had an emergency issue with my business laptop. To the point and very informative. Had problems with a new PC build I just did for a gaming computer and couldn't figure out the issues it was giving me during the start up boot/setup. Call these guys and was able to see someone within the hour. You give me a walk-through on what is going to diagnose for the computer. By the next morning I was able to get a email and even a phone call about what problems he found. A few wires and the graphics card were put in the wrong place but was able to fix it himself. I have 3 desktop computers and 5 laptop computers in our house. Some are rather old (more than 3 years old) and required some major cleanups in the past. When one of the laptop computers was infected with malware last fall, I decided to look for a reliable place I could take my computer for "a complete overhaul" rather than having it cleaned up every 6 months. I had another laptop repaired by a place that I found through eBay in the past. They fixed the motherboard, and the computer lasted for a couple of years after the repair. Although I was happy with their work, it was a hassle to pack and ship it to the repair shop. Additionally, it took a few weeks to get the laptop back. This time, I wanted to find a computer repair place locally. I found this place last November by Googling and reading the reviews. After reading the positive reviews, I decided to have my laptop serviced. It was fixed within 24 hours and cost less than what I would've paid at the major office supply store chains. Within a month, my desktop computer died. He not only fixed the computer right away, but also installed Window 7 (originally it came w/ Window Vista), Microsoft Office 2007, Adobe Photoshop 7.0, and a security system for no additional charge. A few months later, my daughter's desktop computer stopped working. This time, it was a hardware issue, and Mark told me that it would not be worth repairing it. He gave me an option to get a new one at a local retail store and bring it to him for a data transfer from the old dead computer or to have a new one built by him. I decided to have one built by him since I figured that it would be easier to have it serviced later (just in case). The total cost was a little more than what I had expected. However, I think it was still reasonable considering that he installed Microsoft Office and the security system (NOT a trial version), and transferred data from the old computer including the "complete iTune library" (which was critical for my daughter). While he was building a new computer, my son's desktop computer started to work very slowly. Initially, it was thought to be due to a faulty power supply unit. After the replacement of the PSU, it somewhat improved the performance but still was slower than any other computers in the house. Within a week, it completely died, probably due to some residual malware infection that was partially cleaned up in the past. I took it back to Mark, and he fixed it for no additional charge. The first time you bring your computer to his repair shop, you may feel a little anxious to drop it off at a private house. I do not hesitate to recommend Mark to anybody who needs his/her computer serviced. I will call/email Mark again when I have any computer issues. My hard drive from my old pc went poop, and all my stuff got erased from the drive. Im a computer cybersecurity guy myself, but wasnt able to recover the data from the disk. i contacted mark to see if the data could be recovered forensically since i didnt format the drive and mark did not fail to deliver. I have an old Toshiba. It kept getting slower and slower and I tried installing some stuff to stop pop-ups. It got to the point where I could only see a few square inches in the middle of my screen behind all the pop-ups. I looked on yelp and found 818-PCservice had the best ratings. I live in the Conejo Valley, so I was not too excited to drive into the Valley, but I figured it was worth a shot. I am glad I made that drive. My computer is still a bit slower than I would like, but at least it is operational now. Apparently, I had a virus. Now I don't get pop-ups! Yeah!
