This store is such a vibe. It's so inclusive from everything from podiatry customers to postpartum Mom walkers to weight loss walkers to elite athletes and people who just need good supportive shoes. They always have an adorable curation of local small business fair trade products and premium shoes at affordable prices. It's one of the few places that still does a gait analysis for your specific bio mechanics to make sure you are in shoes and models that are specific to your bio mechanics. They were able to get me in to Saucony Guide 16 that helped so much for my plantars fasciitis and osteoarthritis in my knees. Apparently I needed to be in a lower offset drop of shoes to move the pressure away from my knees and lower back. They also help with my pronation.!! read more

I was in town for a family wedding and wanted to get an aunt visiting from out of country fitted for shoes before she went back home. I feel so lucky that our rental house was within walking distance of 847! I knew my aunt was apprehensive about getting running shoes for her day-to-day walks and activities, but our fitter was incredible at making sure she felt heard, understood, and confident with the choice she ended up making. Perfect variety of shoes offered that ranged from great all-day options to some of my favorite new super shoes, and a lot of great running-friendly accessories. Despite physically being one of the smaller run specialty stores I've been in, it felt like every inch of real estate was used to maximize potential and it didn't feel like anything was missing. I went into 847 Running Company the weekend before Christmas, mainly out of curiosity but also because I was in need of new walking shoes. I met Taylor who was very friendly and extremely helpful. I explained the actual pain points I had in my hip and foot while walking, and in everyday life only recently. After measuring my feet she had me walk in front of her, around the store, then pulled three pairs of shoes for me to try. All different brands, with different footbeds. The thing that sets this place apart from the other shoe buying experiences I have had over the years is the service, the time spent and knowledge shared in making sure I had the right shoes. Taylor had me walk in front of her with each pair, assessing my gate and listening to how I felt in them. She asked questions and spent time with me - even as the store began to fill up with new customers. I love my new shoes, and the three pairs of running socks I bought too. I couldn't recommend 847 Running Company more! I walked into the store with my partner for the first time in search of new running shoes and daily/work shoes. Nicole greeted us immediately and asked if she could be of any assistance. I took her up on her offer of a shoe fitting and foot evaluation. She assessed my gait while walking and jogging and looked at how my current, old shoes are wearing out. Her evaluation was thorough and comprehensible. Not to mention, she is extremely personable, conversational, sweet, and high energy. Nicole spent about an hour with us, making sure our concerns were addressed and that we tried on various options. Her knowledge of different shoes, their functions/features, and general foot anatomy was great. We didn't feel pressured at all to buy at the moment as we would be at other stores. Ultimately, I ended up buying two shoes--a pair of Saucony shoes for running and a pair of Altra shoes for work--and I'm so excited to try them out! Taylor met with us right away and provided a great lesson on different gait types, various shoe designs and features and even care/maintenance as she helped narrow down to three great options.
