2 weeks ago I went in to buy brakes and rotors and had them installed by there "professional installers"... Today (9/10/11) I went in because there was a noise coming from the front passenger and driver side... They took a look at and told me it was my wheel bearing(really in a 2006 EVO with only 50k???)... Me being a girl I said ok thank you for looking into... and went my way. Now I am stuck at home because there is the HORRIBLE grinding coming from the passenger side and I am unable to drive any where because i believe they did not properly install the PIN/CLIP back on my brake pads. I came here with a friend to buy a HID lights and when my friend looked at it and said it was alright. But when I looked at it, it look used and dirty (i thought it was suppose to be like that or something) so when I came home my friend plugged it in to and it turns out one of them was blown. So I had to drive back and tell them that one was them was blown. I looked at my corolla's tires and they where Bruce Willis bald. I asked around if anyone knew a good place to get tires and a few friends recommended 88 rotors. I paid them a visit and they took care of me fairly quickly and I was on the road in no time. Since then picked up some rotors from them (its insane how much "Vato Zone" wants for rotors). I have yet to experience this poor customer service that others have described, I have found them to be friendly and professional every time I have made a purchase. I ordered a set of 88 rotors from these guys and one of the rotors came with the thread stripped. Their customer service is horrible, ignored my emails and when called I was put on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up. Finally after calling several times I spoke to one of the employees who said he cannot do anything as I should've seen it before mounting them. Of the hundreds of rotor jobs I've never had such experience. Their product quality and customer service is very poor. The owner Ken Thai who was very prompt in communication before selling the product just disappears when you have a problem with the product - no wonder they are a couple of bucks cheaper. My excitement about finding a local place with what seemed to be endless options went off a cliff as soon as I demonstrated some automotive knowledge. 88 Rotors is happy to sell you accessories and labor as long as your questions don't go in too deep. If you know what you are looking for and can install yourself (maybe you have a trusted mechanic), then buy with caution. A shop like this would benefit from appreciating customers rather than placing themselves in a position of superiority. First off Ken I have no idea who you are.. We dealt with Chris who talked us in to the rims he sold us over the phone. I did not call regarding the rims I purchased.. The rims I wanted was out of stock.. Chris asked what kind of car I had and suggested the ones I purchased. He knew I was not able to drive my car out there as it had to be raised slightly prior to installation of rims and tires. Chris knew what he was doing.. He even stopped me when I began inspecting the rims prior to loading in our car. Your company is suppose to be the professionals and have knowledge of which car matches which rims.. So my fault for trusting your inexperience staff. Also the rims were never mounted and never were removed from the box.. So you may want to know the facts prior to commenting. Their name says "rotors" but they have much more than that. I've taken my whole family here as well as friends for help on brakes, tire mounts, and HID installs. Service is quick and friendly. When calling, make sure you have important details about the car of interest such as year, make, and model to speed up answers to questions you might have. 88 Rotors is a life saver. My cars break pads were worn and totally ruined the surface of my rotors and it was making a horrible noise. I brought my car into 88 Rotors and asked them to inspect everything, when they pulled off my rotors the back side was totally ruined.
