As the session was coming to an end, the pain in my neck became unbearable. I finally told her I had had enough and asked to stop early because I genuinely couldn't take it anymore. When I checked out, I left a $10 tip, which I thought was perfectly reasonable considering my experience. She immediately told me the minimum tip should be $20. I've heard this line at too many massage places before, and it's always the same story--asking for more regardless of the quality of the service. I politely refused, paid my bill, and walked out. The real nightmare started the next morning. I woke up with excruciating pain at the base of my neck. It honestly felt like the bones were about to snap.
