Located just southwest of downtown between midtown and broadway, The Gulch is an expansive, but equally quaint part of the city that is classic mixed use of residential and retail. Main reason you may find me in The Gulch is for food. There is a solid variety of eateries from local casual spots to more established dining, sandwich shops and even a few spots for dessert. While that's my reason, most tourists find their way to The Gulch for the famous wing mural next to Biscuit Love. Got to get them wings while in Nashville! Outside of the food and wings, there are lots of local and chain businesses and services in the area including self-care, medical offices and of course clothing boutiques. Additionally, Noble Park is in the middle of The Gulch. It's a really cool urban space that features a good green space, seating, music and a water wall. It is also host to markets and small events throughout the year. Parking is plentiful in The Gulch, buts its all paid. There are garages, lots and street parking. Overall, The Gulch is a cool area of the city that I don't find myself in too often, but when I do, I always enjoy it!

That includes Music Row! Music Row was established in 1955 and since then it's been the epicenter for music. Major record labels and recording studios are located here. Strolling the district and touring the studios is a great way to learn more about the music industry. There are also great spots to grab dinner or lunch.

My buddy and we're visiting nashville for the weekend and stopped in for a bite to eat at the area popular "I dream of Weenie" and decided to walk around the neighborhood where we discovers what had to be at least 30-50 pieces of public art. Me and him both enjoy checking out murals and sculptures so it was very fun walk and place to explore. Overall a very nice neighborhood with plenty to see and do along with some cool places to grab a bite to eat.

Just north of the capital and the Farmers Market and South of Metro Center, it's a wonderful neighborhood worthy of a leisurely afternoon stroll or a visit to one of it's lovely restaurants or shops. You will know you are there when you find row housing and brick sidewalks. The Germantown Cafe, Monells, and new hot dog place are among worthy contenders for your visit. They also have an Oktoberfest with lots of beer, polka, and kraut which always attracts a crowd. The neighborhood itself has exploded in the last few years so there are wonderful options for places to live there as well. It is the only neighborhood with some stunning views of the capital in addition to the downtown skyline.

It starts at the convergence of 1st Avenue near the Cumberland River and runs southwest to the Vanderbilt University campus, where it turns sharply to the south and merges with 21st Avenue South. The Bridgestone Arena is near the eastern end of Broadway. I've been to the Frist Art Museum (located next to Union Station) and it's a nice museum! Previously the Frist loused a historic U.S. post office. The Frist is one of the landmarks on Lower Broad. Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and Ernest Tubb Record Shop are other landmarks/points of interest along Broadway. Fun fact is some of the scenes in "Coal Miner's Daughter" were filmed inside Tootsie's! I've stayed in hotels on Broadway and all were nice and of course, very convenient to dining options, venues like Bridgestone, and of course, honky tonks. Printer's Alley, which I actually enjoy more than Broadway is only about a five minute walk from Broadway and has a lot to offer in one historic alley! If you are into gigantic neon signs, trollies/mini buses/party busses filled with drunken bachelorette parties, and country music, then Broadway is definitely your jam!

I was surprised that it was way busier at 3pm than at 10pm, but it was a Sunday. I wouldn't go out of my way to walk along Broadway, but if in the area, it's fun to look at all the neon signs. So it was not surprise to me and my buddy when. Discovering the nashville scene for public art that we came across a few murals of the music starlet. Of the pieces we came across featuring Dolly this was the best looking one. Very vibrant and colorful and just well done by the artist. Overall cool piece and not much to dislike. I mean who can dislike Dolly Parton? It's pretty much impossible to not respect the person she is even if someone isn't a fan of the music.

Dolly Parton is a Tennessee native and a country music legend. Massive mural on the side of a popular bar in the Nashville area that features several country music superstars of current and yesteryear. It was fun for us to try and see who all we could name and try to figure out the ones we weren't sure on. Overall a great mural that captures the essence of the downtown Nashville honky tonk and country music scene.

I am sure the long line of cars clogging Old Hickory Blvd is annoying to the people that live nearby, it took a while to park It is music, beer, food, field to sit at. $25 admission to this is too steep. With the bugs, the crowd, and the crazy lines for food, It wasnt worth it staying so we left after 15 minutes. Glad we didnt stick around for everyone leaving, the parking situation must be insane to leave. Maybe if the event was a bit more it would be worth the admission a but more. It seems like a missed opportunity to have arts and crafts vendors on site.
