I have passed by this place many times to the Factory Arts District/Circle City Industrial Complex. I finally made it in after an event Friday. We had a great experience. Although it was pretty busy (Friday night), there was still places to sit and service was very quick and friendly. We sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. There are a couple of snacks, chips and crackers, but you can order food in! They have a cocktail menu that changes in theme each month. This month's was Bookclub themed. Next month is going to be playlist themed. There are also lots of mocktails to choose from!

Canned cocktails to go? Yes please!

Some of the best humans in the city own and work here. It's my 3rd space and their drinks are amazing! They do Sip to Support fundraisers multiple times a month and strive to be a positive impact on their community. Love the 8th day fam!!

I went on a bike ride around the Near Eastside and decided to stop by 8th Day Distillery for a drink. I got a Flaminglow and it was really solid. The space is bright and open, with sunlight pouring in and giving it a relaxed feel. The bartenders were super friendly and easy to talk to. They had a pop-up that day from Wisanggeni Pawon, a local Indonesian restaurant, which was very good. I also liked that they allow dogs inside; someone brought one in and the staff had water ready for them. Such a chill, welcoming spot and a great stop for anyone exploring the area.

One of my all time favorites 8th Day is a go-to spot when gathering with friends. Their cocktails are top notch, affordable, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. In my opinion, they have the best selection of mocktails in the city, allowing those that are not drinking alcohol to still enjoy the atmosphere and a delicious beverage. We've had birthday celebrations, post art show hangs, and spontaneous date nights here. It never disappoints. They also host events and live music. There are some really cool collaborations with local artists, which I really appreciate. The owner seems to be involved in creating a positive atmosphere and connecting with the community. They mostly serve drinks, but they have some snacks like Broad Ripple Chip Co and 4 Birds Bakery cookies. I also highly recommend their canned cocktails and mocktails for backyard cookouts and summer time fun!

The drinks here are funky and incredibly fresh. They have a seasonal menu that is sure to bring in something new for you every visit. You have to go up to the counter to order and it does take a hot second for them to make them. But it's such a cool, chill spot and worth a little extra wait for your craft cocktail

Always the perfect hang-out spot. We stopped in again last weekend and loved the fun State Fair cocktail and mocktail menu. They have one of the most creative menus I've seen around town and it rotates frequently. They also have a bigger mocktail menu than most other distilleries too, which is so wonderful. Here's what we tried: + $2 Tuesday: Rum, pineapple, lime, orgeat, cilantro, tajin + J-Town Shake-Up: Navy strength gin, melon, lemon, yuzu, orange bitters + Mango Two Ways: Coconut fat wash spiced rum, red fresnos, mango puree, amba, lemon, cherry bitters + Featured Farmers (mocktail): Black beans, smoked paprika, cumin, chili, agave, lime, ginger, coffee bitters, fire bitters, soda water, tajin We loved the J-Town Shake-Up the most, but enjoyed all of them. Their menu makes you want to keep ordering to try them all. Such a fun experience and we loved seeing our favorite bartender Mia behind the bar. :) The space inside is perfect for groups, with lots of big tables and seating options, and free parking in the huge lot out front too. We'll be back!

Love that this place has non alcoholic beverages - both canned mocktails and mocktails made in-house! Both are very tasty. I like that they're also a bit more adventurous in their flavors than other mocktails around the city. Great place to hang, love the vibes, and decently priced drinks!

8th Day Distillery is such a hidden gem, and now one of my favorite spots to meet up with friends. Parking is easy, as you can park along the street or in the parking lot. The interior has a cool, industrial vibe. I loved their cocktail menu, as it was creative and everything I tried was delicious. The service was quick and friendly. I can't wait to come back for the new menu!

Met some old work friends here that were in town, and it was during 8th days anniversary celebration so there was a number of tasty cocktails! We had a great time hanging out and catching up, the service is always stellar here, and it's a fun chill vibe, since it was a Friday there were some local musicians as well, all around cool place, check them out if you're in the area.

It was a nice summer day when I went, and they had their garage door open. We sat inside and it was perfect for our large group! They have a variety of drink options ranging anywhere from mocktails to cocktails to boozy slushies. I ordered the banana hammock, which was a rum slushy. It was strong, but refreshing. Their cocktail list was a summer themed menu. There were a variety of different cocktails to order from!

8th Day Distillery is TOP NOTCH - their five-star reviews come for good reason! They have a rotating seasonal menu to keep their options interesting, even featuring weekend-only cocktails sometimes. Their drinks are made with their own distilled spirits and have creative themes with fun names. For example, during the Summer of 2022 they made a State Fair inspired menu with drinks inspired by sweet corn, friend donuts, and more. Even with the experimental rotating menu options, I've always enjoyed my drink. The flavors are solid, the drinks are strong, and the quality is consistent. They also offer several mocktail options for anyone looking for a nonalcoholic option. The bartenders are some of the nicest in the city. They always strike up a convo and typically bring your drinks out to you when they can. We also love that 8th Day is dog friendly inside! There are limited indoor spaces to take dogs, so it's so nice having the option to bring our pup along to such a fun spot. PRO TIP: They host free weekly trivia nights with prizes. Check their social pages for up to date times!

However, looking on the outside can't begin to prepare you for the wonder of what's on the inside of this former residence that now serves as the Office of the President for Indy's Marian University. The mansion was first built by James Allison, co-founder of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500. The ceiling's Tiffany stained glass windows allow the sun to shine brightly inside. The mansion's most impressive room was, in fact, originally designed as a marble aviary by Allison to contain his wife's exotic bird collection. The 2-story, red-brick arts and craft style home continues to have an expensive chandelier imported from Germany, a sunken conservatory, and a 2-story pipe organ. Seriously. The property itself is remarkable. Atop a cliff that overlooks a wetland, the property includes greenhouses, ponds, and orchards. Seriously, I would become Marian University's president just to spend time in the office. Allison passed away in 1928 and the property remained unsettled until it was acquired by the Sisters of St. Francis - the founders of Marian University. At one point, public tours were offered but this is no longer the case. You can, however, rent it for events (which is how I've been inside, though it's definitely not wheelchair friendly in any real sense).

One reviewer stated "The Allison Mansion remains perfectly restored and beautiful to an almost eerie degree." Eerie alright--there is a disquiet about the Mansion: it is said to be haunted! Builder James Allison was a wealthy man and founder of the Indianapolis Speedway and Allison Engineering Company. The mansion was built between 1911 and 1914 and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Allison died young from pneumonia at age 56. The mansion was later sold to what is now Marian University,. However, many locals and visitors feel that Allison never really left the building! Most stories claim Allison still haunts the mansion, rearranging books in the library and furniture as he sees fit. But there are other ghostly goings-on here: the spirit of a little girl who drowned in the basement pool still lingers around the mansion. "Visitors claim to have seen the ghost of a little girl and even heard shrill screams and heartbreaking cries from the basement. Voices in the attic have also been reported," said www.onlyinyourstate.com. I can understand the ghost of Allison hanging around: this place is plush! No expense was spared while building the two-story, red-brick, arts-and-crafts-style Mansion. The exquisite marble aviary was built for Allison's first wife's exotic bird collection, Also impressive: the expensive chandelier imported from Germany, a sunken conservatory, and a magnificent music room with a two-story pipe organ. Outdoors, enjoy lush gardens, manicured lawns, greenhouses, ponds, and orchards that overlook a wetland now restored and maintained by Marian University. Upon Allison's death, there was some concern about the historic property's fate. Bless the Catholics: Allison Mansion was eventually acquired by the Sisters of Saint Francis, who also founded Marian University. Allison Mansion is still part of the university. It is open for public tours and can also be rented for private events. The Mansion is a feature on annual Halloween Ghost Tours. 5 YELP STARS for spooky spectacular!

It was one of the most memorable Pride events I've been to presented by Indy Pride due to the unique venue and atmosphere. This past Wednesday, I had another opportunity to visit Tinker House for a Sound Bath presented by BFF Indy. It was a very different experience as the intention was a more meditative one opposed to a party with a DJ the last time I was there. It was still daylight when I arrived and mostly empty which made it convenient and ideal to explore the bridal suite and take pictures of the venue without any obstructions. The Sound Bath was held on the dance floor with lots of natural light surrounding us. I love the idea of the Sound Bath in this fun space. Although, I've had them in the past at a yoga studio which was MUCH quieter. My constructive criticism is that there is too much noise coming from the traffic outside (especially because this was at 5pm during rush hour) even on the second story of the building to relax and get the full benefits of a Sound Bath. There were no blankets, pillows or yoga mats either which isn't necessarily the responsibility of Tinker House but still something to be noted for future events. BFF Indy should have given attendees a heads up to bring their own supplies because sitting on a hard wood floor where people dance and walk on with shoes that have just been outside downtown is rather off putting and took away from the overall experience. The facilitator did an amazing job all things considered. I will go back for events in the future just not if they are supposed to be relaxing. Tinker House is ideal for social gatherings like weddings and parties. The decor is aesthetically appealing and very well thought out. There is a ambient bar/lounge on the first floor in addition to the one upstairs. There is limited parking in front of the building and a coffee shop next door.
