We moved to Texas from California during the COVID epidemic. That being said, my teenager hadn't had the opportunity to meet new people. Starting a new high school was tough and the bullying wasn't handled appropriately. Combine that with teenage hormones and any parent knows it's a recipe for disaster. We tried another local boxing gym and the owner was as bad if not worse than the bullies he was encountering on a day to day basis. Fortunately, we found Legends Boxing Gym! Immediately, we were treated like individuals not just another number to add to the bosses bank account. Mars greeted us and answered all of my questions and then some. His accolades are off the chart but, you'd never know due to his humble spirit. Nikki, gave my son, an introvert a positive comment about his attire and was able to relate to him immediately. To make someone feel special without empty platitudes is an art and I know it was genuine. That warm welcome made us feel immediately at home. We found our tribe! The way they have their gym set up is amazing! They have detailed instruction so you don't feel like you're confused. There's a great mix of different skill levels and the instructors are constantly giving individualized attention. I recommend this place for all skill levels!

So, I decided to try Title Boxing Gym on Research Blvd. I signed up for a 60-minute boxing class with 15 minutes of core work. The energy was high, the coach motivating, and the workout not for the faint at heart. The class started with a warmup and gradually transformed into a fast paced, intense cardio and strength class. The class included boxing fundamentals with strength conditioning that really pushed you to the limit. No prior boxing experience was needed, although one of the managers stepped me through the basics. In the boxing class, the coach called out 1 2 3 4 5 6, which referred to the standard punch number system coaches use to call out combinations quickly. The standard meanings are 1 = Jab (lead hand, straight), 2 = Cross (rear hand, straight), 3 = Lead hook, 4 = Rear hook, 5 = Lead uppercut and 6 = Rear uppercut. To be honest, she was calling out the number so fast at first, it was hard to keep up. At my prior class, they would say jab, cross, upper, and hook. She was kind to come over and ask if I needed help. When I told her I was not used to hearing just the numbers, she added the description. After a short while, I was able to catch on. We performed combinations and ran around the room or did burpees (hate burpees) between sets. Title gym is clean, organized, and set up to handle a room of boxing rigs. The music, lighting, and overall vibe helped keep motivation high. Our coach was super motivating yet challenging. The front desk manager was kind to show me around Title gym. OMG...this was one of the most intense workouts. After taking the boxing class, I was literally soaking wet. My guess is that I will fall fast asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Someone dropped the ball. I am new in town and bought a groupon for Jiu Jitsu at Pinnacle. Sadly…read morewhen I arrived a week ago to schedule classes I was told that they do not offer Jiu Jitsu anymore because they do not have an instructor. They mentioned that they need to have the advertising taken off groupon website. It is a week later and their groupon is still active on Group.com. So I opted for kickboxing and scheduled a class for 7:15 and was told to be there 10-15 minutes before class starts. I arrived at 7:01 and waited till 7:16. The door was locked and 2 people sparring in the back. They saw we when I knocked loudly but they ignored me. I suspected that they had a private session going one. I then left. Never got call but I suspect I will get one after posting here.

Great group of staff and coaches. However my issue with is the cancellation process. Read your…read morecontract you sign with them very carefully and understand you must come in to fill out a cancellation form. They will continue to charge your credit card until you do so. On top of that it has to be 30 day notice so if you get charged and come in 2 weeks later you will get charged one more month. It's 2016 it should not be this hard to cancel. I've also been told they do not refund even if the mistake is on their end. I will update this post when more information comes available

Unexpected fee after cancellation + refund refused…read more We enrolled our son, Talen, at Johns Gym in Austin and withdrew/cancelled his membership in April as a result of a blood clot and condition that does not allow him to box anymore. After the cancellation, we were still charged an additional fee. We contacted the gym right away to request a refund, but we were told we missed the reimbursement/refund window, so a refund would not be provided. I understand businesses have policies, but this felt frustrating and unfair given that we had already withdrawn him. I'm leaving this review so other families clearly understand the billing and refund timelines before signing up. I'd appreciate the gym revisiting this situation and making it right.

I asked if I could cancel my 12 month membership, an over 120$ a month commitment, the answer was no unless you are dead or full disabled....but we can modify" which I already shared is not feasible. I'll be wasting over 1000$ for the next year. Go elsewhere. I really dislike companies with zero empathy and see you as a dollar sign.

DONT GO!!! Terrible customer service. I had signed up for a class last week with my sister at 10…read moream. I had to get a babysitter for my kids, since it's summer. When we got there, they informed us that the person doing the class was not there yet. A few minutes later they told us they were not showing up and they rescheduled us with barely an apology. We were annoyed but accepted it and rescheduled. Today, I had to get a babysitter sitter again to make the class. I live in Leander and was getting all the red lights. I tried to call them at 9.40. No answer or call back. My sister got there before and told them I was running late. I pulled in at 10.06 am. They had told my sister they would open the door for me. But after standing outside for over 5, I realized they were not going to let me in. I also felt disrespected of my time and unwelcome. I don't leave bad reviews and I work in customer service. I would never treat someone the way I was treated. I also have not gotten a refund. My response- I understand policies. But I was cancelled last week upon arrival because the instuctor did not show up. That's not be acknowledged. I tried to call and communicate. It was insinuated to my sister that the door would be opened so I stood outside for over 5 after arrival. I have grace last week, and expect the same in return. And that was not shown. Called to cancel was convinced to "freeze," and was then told we still had to pay for 30 days before the freeze. I called before the freeze was over in order to cancel and they said I had to re-activate and pay 30 days again in order to cancel. This was not explained when I originally wanted to cancel and froze instead. There were other things like this even when we first signed up that should have been a warning. They were and are dishonest in their business practices, rushing you through signing up without reading the contract (it's on me for not stopping them, but also they should be entering a contract in good faith which they did not). The coaches were great with our kids, even though the classes were over filled. They are good instructors who are kind. But the people who run the desk and finances are not trustworthy. Find another school if you can.
