There is a tall young man who has (I think) curly blond ish hair who's always wearing a hat who greets me every time I walk into this gym, I just wanted to say I've gone to these gyms in multiple states and in a lot of of them, they don't even say hi to you at the front, this kid always welcomes you with a warm hello, asks how you are doing, and makes sure to say bye when you leave. I just wanted to say he's really great at his job and it deserves to be recognized. Aside from him, I have also never had a bad interaction with the front staff at this location. SCAM PROMOTION! TV ad in big print says Black Membership "only $1 to Join" & first month free. NOWHERE DID IT ADVERTISE you need to sign a ONE YEAR CONTRACT!!!! Sure, you realize ONLY after you go to the club in person or notice the grayed out "included" on the website, but this is CLEARLY DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICE! I spent a half hour looking up and filling out all the personal bank info REQUIRED....BOTH a credit card AND A CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBER (so you can't file a protest if you are not satisfied). ONLY THEN do they show you the ripoff amount you will also pay...AN EXTRA $53.04 for "annual membership fee" due January 1. If you want to cancel, a $50 "cancellation fee" will be taken DIRECTLY out of your checking account. More like, Planet Filthy. This place is absolutely disgusting. Filthiest club on this planet, and in the universe! Joined 10 days ago, I've worked-out everyday at different times, and the staff hasn't cleaned the bathrooms once since joining. There are plenty of staffers in the club, but they're all on their phones, chatting with members about nothing while on their phones, or chatting with each other about nothing while on their phones. I've walked in the club twice when the front desk person has been watching a movie, on their phone. Men's locker room is atrocious. Urine stained shower curtains, old band-aids on the floor, old razor blades on the floor, clothes on the floor, broken shower heads, torn shower curtains, overflowing trash, dirty mirrors, dirty sinks, Q-Tips on the floor, gum in the showers, shower faucet handle in one of the showers spins all the way-round and has no markings for hot or cold, there hasn't been soap in any of the shower stalls for 10+ days, rubber shower mats are thrown about, urine stains and soap scum are so thick on the shower floors and walls you can write your name on the walls with a penny, all the showers have broken or damaged shower heads, and one of the shower heads is held-on with blue painters tape, instead of Teflon plumbers tape, and squirts out water from all directions whenever the water is turned-on. Seven of the upstairs treadmills don't work and the calibration is way off on those that do work, by 10+% per mile. Meaning...if you run 10 miles on the treadmill, you're really only running 9 miles. Recumbent bikes are the same way, and off by 10+%. Also, half the upstairs wall fans are; broken, unplugged, or turned-off. TV's aren't tuned to the station displayed on the yellow sign. I've been there everyday for 10 days and they've got a Fox channel playing on four TV's. Both weekends I've been to the club they haven't televised a single NCAA or NFL football game. Instead, infomercials were playing on another four TV's last Saturday when there was an NCAA football game on every major network, including ESPN. No ABC, CBS, or NBC broadcast, in the entire club. During either weekend, they weren't broadcasting ESPN or ESPN2. Texas played one football game during this 10-day period but Planet Filthy chose not to televise the home town favorite, and my Alma Mater. How can you not televise a Texas Longhorn football game when you're located in Travis County? Last, the staff is the real issue. The club isn't that bad and could be a great facility if only the staff were better, and actually did their jobs. Before posting this, and before telephoning the Texas Department of Health, I tried numerous times to get any staffer to remedy the various issues. Each staffer acted as if I was making an unreasonable request. Even tried speaking to the manager, who wasn't there in the middle of the day, by leaving my telephone number for a call-back. The person at the front desk suggested I email her because she wouldn't phone me back. I didn't think it possible, but this club membership is actually worth less than $20.00/month. The gum, Q-Tips, razor blades, and used Band-Aids, are still on the shower floors after 10 days. I wouldn't go back in this dump even if Planet Filthy offered a free membership. Do yourself a favor and avoid hepatitis, tetanus, and a staph infection, by driving 4 miles up the road to the Round Rock Planet Fitness location. read more

I usually alternate between this location and the mopac/parmer location. While this is a bit older, it is the closest PF to me so I come here a lot. I'm not a gym guy so I can't speak to much for everything they do or don't offer. However, they have everything I need - the equipment I like to use works. The wi-fi works mostly. It's been clean and the staff is friendly at the front. The hydro massage has never not been unavailable for me and I like the convenient hours. So far, I have had no issues and will continue to frequent this location. read more

I like this location It's 2 stories with cardio machines and stretching area upstairs 30minutes circuit and main workout area downstairs Planet fitness is always clean and machines are usually in good condition As always they are open 24/7 It's a great gym for someone who doesn't want bells and whistles, just a good self motivated workout They offer small 30min "training" sessions And the black card $20 per month gives you free tanning and massage table use And you can go to any of the locations So worth the price For $10 per month you can go to this location only and still feel like you should be paying more.. great place to kick in your NYE resolution! read more

Been a couple of years since I've dedicated time to working out, so I felt nervous just going into a gym. I've heard of planet fitness before and that they are judgement-free zones, so I took a chance and signed up. It's been half a year and I love it so much. The employees and trainers are super nice, plus I always see them wiping and cleaning equipment as they walk around(which prompted me to write a review). People who workout there are also very friendly, I've met some pretty cool people who I see on a weekly basis. I'm a black card member and decided to try this gym, the equipment is great and I definitely can say compared to my home club I definitely felt like I worked out more here because of their equipment, BUT don't expect a smile in the morning at 6, expect some sass and some eye rolls along with sighs from employees when asking for some assistance with the black card spa , hope they have a good shift read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went there to sign up for a membership and was sadly "helped" by a woman named Lauren. Not only was she a grade a jerk (rolling her eyes when she did make eye contact) she was unhelpful. It's sad that these are the people who are helping your soon to be customers. I ended up leaving because I don't like being treated like I was an inconvenience. I would never have this problem at 24hour fitness so I guess I'll go back to them. This place is cheap but get what you pay for. Don't waste your money here unless you can be assisted by a better associate. read more

The staff is friendly from the moment you walk in the door. I don't feel intimidated while in our neighborhood location. The amount and variety of machines and weights makes it easy to decide what workout I might do as I walk in the door. The facility is very clean and I feel comfortable using the equipment. There is always a staff member on the floor cleaning and wiping down the equipment as well. The sanitary stations are placed strategically throughout the facility making it easy to sanitize a station before and after I use it as well. read more

The people at the desk acted like it was painful to have to stop talking to each other to give you coins for the massage chair. I just had surgery on my feet. My back was killing me from the adaptive equipment I had to use. I got comments and very negative vibes about providing me with coins for the chair. After all my money is still good. I've been coming here for about a month after I recently moved to Pflugerville from out of state. Having come from a local chain where I was paying $60/month, I was looking for something with more value and decided to join this location. I signed up online, quick and painless process that took less than 10 minutes. It took me about 2 minutes if not faster to get my card once I came in for the first time. This place is great and exceeded my expectations. It's clean, it's open 24/7, there's tons of cardio equipment, the men's locker room is spacious, plenty of parking, and I haven't had any interactions with obnoxious clients. They also have water bottle fill-up stations. The highlight of this place is the staff. They are very friendly. They always greet me when I come in and tell me to take care or have a nice day when I leave. I was asked to leave feedback a week ago, and the manager immediately followed-up with me and called me about my feedback. I was very impressed. It's clear the staff here care about your experience and work to make it the best it can be. I do have a few minor gripes, first being there's only three smith machines and no benches/squat racks/free barbells for dead lifts, so you have to make do with the smith machines. The music can get repetitive as there are only so many songs they play, and the genre switch between some songs is jarring. The water from the dispensers is not of the best quality, and no provided towels. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a clean, 24/7 gym with great value and don't want to be heckled by constant offers of personal training and obnoxious clientele. read more

This is by the best Planet Fitness location in Austin. I originally was going to the Round Rock location and was actually considering breaking my contract for a nicer gym, but decided to check out this location first and I'm really glad I did! All of the equipment at this gym is more or less brand new, the staff is friendly, and the locker room and showers are great. The gym itself is two stories, so there's enough room inside that it doesn't feel to cramped and I never feel like I'm working out right next to someone. The price of membership for Planet Fitness is pretty much unbeatable, which makes it hard to think of leaving even if other places might have a few more weights. Planet fitness defiantly had a focus towards heavy cardio so there's always plenty of treadmills but they could have a few more free weights and less controlled machines. The only thing I would improve about this location is the "black card" area with the massage chairs. The chairs themselves are kind of old and not the best. If you do decide to use them, make sure you don't use the leg part, as I felt like it was trying to break my shin in half. Overall this is a great gym and I highly recommend it! read more

Asked a front desk person about my upcoming annual charges, he said not to worry, no extra charges will be taken out besides my monthly membership. A month later I am charged annual fee. Spoke to Location manager who admitted that they had issues with staffing and training and apologized for misinformation but did not offer a refund. Then I spoke to customer service and they said that there was no misinformation given, but rather a miscommunication and the employee must have misunderstood my question (don't see how much clearer the question could be). In addition front desk staff is often absent, so I am not able to get into a massage chair or any other Black Card member amenities. Full disappointment all around. read more

It takes a lot for me to review a place. It also takes a lot for me to give it one star. I signed up for a gym that eventually shut down, and all the members were transferred over to this Planet Fitness. Now, that was fine, except it was too far away for me to go to. I try cancelling over the phone, which I cannot do. I end up showing up and they cannot find me on their records. They tell me to come back when a manager is there, which I did. My wife and I show up, we sign some forms, and we are told we are no longer members. Great. Check my CC statement a month later, and we are still getting charged. I call them up and they cannot find my record yet again. They eventually send me to their corporate number and they end up saying we are canceled and we will be refunded. Great, I don't really care about the $30, I just don't want to continue paying. A month later, my wife's account actually doesn't charge me, by my account STILL is charging my CC. I call up them up again, do the whole thing, am promised nothing will be charged again, and I forget about it. Now, I look at my CC statement. This is 6 months later. Due to my own stupidity, I did not look through them in detail until now. I AM STILL GETTING CHARGED. Good luck canceling. Guess more calls will be made and maybe they will actually pay me back this time. Edit: Trying to get my money back for the last couple of months but they are now claiming that I never canceled it even though I filled it out right in front of the manager and handed it directly to her. read more

Very clean, staff just seems off. Turn over is high and the last couple times I have been to visit the front desk agent is on the phone (one was even FaceTiming :/ +everyone could hear the conversation), making it frustrating to check in for the perks I PAY for. When the location received new tanning beds they were working on and off and staff didn't seem to believe me when I told them the lights weren't coming on. Today, there was a new sales guy. The hydrobed did not start for me. I went to the front desk to have them restart and agent was on the PHONE and couldn't help me. Sales guy approached with a prospective customer who wanted to view the hydrobed- at the same time I requested he restart mine. Because both associates were "busy" they kept asking if I would prefer to do massage chair (absolutely not!). After restarting hydrobed stalled AGAIN for me, the salesman pretty much forced me to go to the massage chair (NOT WHAT I CAME IN FOR) and continued to let the prospective customer get a hydro massage in the chair originally set for ME! THEN as I'm in the massage chair I hear him setting others up on the other hydromassage table he told me to wait for! WTF?! I finally just got up and walked out. read more

The only reason why I go to this gym is because it's only $10 a month. I'm a young dude and that's all I can afford for now. It has all you need to get swole and that's really all you need. The only thing I don't like about planet fitness is that there are no REAL benches. the smith machines are for girls. once I achieve the maximum weight here with I'm going straight to 24 hour fitness to make even more massive gains. Another thing I don't like are the people that go here. I just come here for the free pizza and tootsie rolls!!! Kidding, people have this misconception that this gym is for people who don't really work out or are in horrible shape only. I assure you this is not the case. This gym has everything you need and is very very clean. Everyone is good about wiping down the station they just finished at. There are "meat heads" here but everyone shows each other respect. Not too many people flexing in the mirror and taking selfies, because we all know, if you didn't post it, it didn't happen. I pay $20 a month and can go to any location AND bring a guest, I also get half price drinks. It is never too crowded, even at 5pm on a weekday. Staff is friendly and helpful. I cancelled my membership in June. Kept getting bills after having moved without knowing. When a new charge appeared yesterday, I went to cancel again but they now had late fees and charged me for the two months I had already cancelled. They also told me I'd be paying an annual fee even though I cancelled before the date. They refused to work with me at all, and said they would send it to collections. Do not sign a contract with these people. I'm now out $100 for a thing I cancelled three months ago under the threat of it hitting my credit score. read more

I happen to love this gym. I've read several reviews with negative feed back. If you're looking for a typical gym this is not it( that's kind of their business model). If you're concerned with dumbbells over 75 lbs you're probably a meat head that should check your priorities. I digress, the only issue I have is the music. This location is the best! I drive 10 more minutes down the road because Pflugerville PF is the cleanest, the quietest, the least packed gym I have ever walked into. The staff always greets with a smile and sometimes have a small convo with you. Also, probably the most updated PF. My favorite thing about this location is the separation of cardio from weights, abs, and stretching. They all have their own corner. So long as I don't move further south, this will continue to be my regular location. read more

Good luck if you need to freeze or cancel your account! My husband and I have been long-time members (him much longer than me). We stopped by in person to cancel our memberships, but the girl up front talked us into freezing them instead. No problem, she said we could freeze them every three months if we needed to. I should have been suspicious when it was obvious she was confused making the transaction and had to call over for someone else to help. Sure enough, a few weeks later, their charge went through my account. So I called and spent forever on the phone and was assured I'd be credited for the amount. Wrong! I don't know what those people are doing over there, but they don't seem to know what they are doing. Either that or they are scammers! And it's impossible to get through. Never mind though, I'm done calling and dealing with them! I've already called my bank and blocked them from anymore payments. I see other similar complaints on here. Y'all better get your act together or you will lose all your customers. P.S. - I noticed on the low reviews, whoever is leaving a comment from PF says they should contact the manager of PF.
