When we lived in Bellevue, WA I used to take a Krav Maga boxing class. However, I decided I wanted to try boxing again here in Austin, TX. So, I decided to try Title Boxing Gym on Research Blvd. I signed up for a 60-minute boxing class with 15 minutes of core work. The energy was high, the coach motivating, and the workout not for the faint at heart. The class started with a warmup and gradually transformed into a fast paced, intense cardio and strength class. The class included boxing fundamentals with strength conditioning that really pushed you to the limit. No prior boxing experience was needed, although one of the managers stepped me through the basics. In the boxing class, the coach called out 1 2 3 4 5 6, which referred to the standard punch number system coaches use to call out combinations quickly. The standard meanings are 1 = Jab (lead hand, straight), 2 = Cross (rear hand, straight), 3 = Lead hook, 4 = Rear hook, 5 = Lead uppercut and 6 = Rear uppercut. To be honest, she was calling out the number so fast at first, it was hard to keep up. At my prior class, they would say jab, cross, upper, and hook. She was kind to come over and ask if I needed help. When I told her I was not used to hearing just the numbers, she added the description. After a short while, I was able to catch on. We performed combinations and ran around the room or did burpees (hate burpees) between sets. Title gym is clean, organized, and set up to handle a room of boxing rigs. The music, lighting, and overall vibe helped keep motivation high. Our coach was super motivating yet challenging. The front desk manager was kind to show me around Title gym. OMG...this was one of the most intense workouts. After taking the boxing class, I was literally soaking wet. My guess is that I will fall fast asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. read more

BEWARE OF THIS GYM! I have been trying to get them to stop billing me for months now, there is no one to answer the phone and THEY DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS. They make it very difficult to cancel your contract, and continue to bill you no matter how many times you call and even if you send them a letter by mail. This is SO DISHONEST. read more

BEWARE if you plan to become a member of this gym. I had been a member for quite some time. The instructors are good and the workouts will definitely make you sweat. The customer service, on the other hand, is terrible! I cancelled my $100+ membership back in January of last year. They require a 30 day notice, however, they did not correctly cancel my membership (they require you to fill out a form, that I was unaware of at the time) so I was charged for February, which was fine, but then charged me for March, too. I brought this to the managers attention and he happily refunded the money to my account and had me fill out the form for cancellation, this was April 5th. I received a confirmation email of cancellation. Then on April 25th, they reopened my account at a discounted rate of $50 without my consent. They then charged me again on May 25th for approximately $100. When I called today to dispute these discrepancies, I spoke with the owner and she was very rude. She told me she could only refund the charges for May but not for April because I had waited too long to call and she can only refund one month prior due to franchise policies. "Her hands are tied", she said. She insinuated that I was lying about originally canceling my membership and told me that all the employees had been there for a long time and were trained on how to properly cancel memberships and that I should've called sooner and not waited if I had a discrepancy. I explained that I did not see the charge right away, but she basically said too bad. My advice is if you do plan to join this gym, keep a close eye on your bank account. I know I will, in case future charges pop up. This gym is not cheap and I'd hate for anyone else to go through such a negative experience, as I did today. read more

It's been about a good 8-9 months since I've really got some exercise in. Fell off completely and it's been so hard to get back on track. I've had gym memberships to 24 hr fitness, la fitness ...and many other gyms ...and I like the convenience of having one but I just don't find myself having any motivation ...unlike today! Joined my sister and brother-In-law on a visitor pass and man did I get a workout in the one hour session I had! My body is already aching and sore as I'm doing this review lol. Clean facility and great staff! As a first timer doing a boxing class, my coordinating skills are horrible and I had some challenges getting the punching stance and arm movements down ....but man did I get one hell of a workout! I plan to be back really soon, hopefully as a member this time :) read more

So I'm in Austin and in search of a good free workout and I found Title Boxing. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and assisted. The manager (I think he was the manager) walked me around and showed me the space, then he wrapped my hands and got me some gloves. I can't forget he showed me the correct way to jab and punch so that I was prepared. The class is 60 minutes and the first 15 minutes is a warmup, you then get 30 minutes on the bag (with squats and burpees in between) you then end with a 15 minute AB workout. Overall, I enjoyed the workout, I burned about 600 calories and had a great sweat. I really like the variation of the workout and the ability to work all muscle groups. My only complaint is my aching hands but I guess it comes with the territory. I will definitely give Title boxing another go. Just a side note - 1st timers you will need to purchase wraps and they are $6 and the monthly price is pretty sweet at $99 with no commitment. read more

Title boxing was definitely a good workout! I was done 30 minutes in. It wasn't really for me but my wife really enjoyed it so she plans to go back. I think the class we took was more so for people who have been going faithfully not beginner friendly but they assured us that they do have classes with different instructors that are definitely good for beginners. read more

I joined the gym about 3 months after it opened and it is a great gym. Each workout will challenge you and each trainer brings their own unique style to each class. I have also done one on one work with a few trainers and it is a great way to add to your workout. I would have given 5 stars except for one thing...the treadmill. Unfortunately it breaks down every 4-6 weeks. It will be down for about a week or so and then either a part is replaced or it just starts working. A new treadmill(s) has been on the way for about 1 year now but nothing yet. Unfortunately it has become one of those "I'll believe it when I see it" kinda if things. This is a long overdue review! I have been boxing here for a couple months now. Found this place on a Groupon deal. After my first class I joined and became a member. Bryan the manager gave me a great deal and credit for the Groupon. I signed up for a year. I absolutely love it. I drive 45 mins to this arena because of all the great peeps! I walk in and get welcomed by name! They always have fun events either at the location or at a restaurant. I have taken Morgan's, Cory's, Kyle's & last but not least Justin's class! Everyone is different. I love the 15 mins of core/abs at the end! It's a great workout! Non stop cardio! It's for all ages shapes and sizes! It's a fun workout! You sweat and burn about 1000 calories a class, depending on how hard you work! You have there option to take breaks and regroup or work thru the breaks! Check it out! Don't be scerrrrd!!! read more

Each trainer has their own individual style that keeps the workouts from feeling redundant. Cory's classes are high intensity, Kenny's are fun, Andrew's are focused, Rhet's are high energy - they're all fantastic. I've been coming to this gym over a year. This work out both give you energy and exhausting.(kind of weird how it works). The instructors are great especially Melanie, Brian and Jay. I recommend going easy for your first time. It's tough and surely will whip you into shape if you go at least 3 times a week. The core workout at the end is also good. I also recommend asking the staff to teach you how to wrap your wrist first few times, make sure you do it correctly to avoid any injuries. I wish they have Sunday afternoon time..the schedule could be a bit difficult to work with as the last class is 7:15pm. read more

I purchased a 6 month package on 4/3/19 and was told to cancel with 30 days notice whenever I was ready to end the membership. On 5/1/19 I went in to cancel as I didn't want to go every month for 6 months straight. I wanted to just come during months that I was up for the workout. The guy had me fill out a cancellation form, cancelled my membership but, never refunded me the money. I called a few days later to check o the status of my refund and was told that 'We don't really give refunds.' Now I have such a bad taste in my mouth, I don't want to go there at all. $600 waste. read more

So you think you are in decent shape? You lift, you run, you do your crunches, stretch a bit so you can just about touch your toes then you take a 60-minute class at Title. Hello rude awakening! I did the introductory class and was pretty much toast after the warm up exercises. Then came the heavy bag workout finishing up with ~15 minutes of core work.... I was exhausted and the next AM was not too much fun either. But I stuck with it. I went to the free instructional classes on Sat AM to learn technique and now I'm hooked (crosses and jabs too). Hooked to the point I'm waking up at 5AM for the 6AM boxing class. The instructors (all of them) are great. They beat the cr@p out of you (not literally of course) but in a good way if that makes sense. All the trainers and staff will take the time to provide further instruction and positive reinforcement. Great facility and excellent instruction! I've never had anything less than an exceptional class here-everything is HIGH OCTANE and fun! Each instructor has a love of Boxing/Kickboxing and it shows in their classes. I bought a Groupon and ended up joining after the first class. The staff is friendly, welcoming and encouraging. The classes are intense (in a great way), high calorie burning, and always different. The coaches are THE best! They are so encouraging, professional and helpful for all levels. The gym offers so much from boxing and kickboxing classes, private lessons and a mini gym area for free weights and additional training on your own. This place is definitely not worth it! Read every word of the contract! They will trick you out of thousands an will leave you hanging. I called an talked to atleast 10 people whom all had different story's on why I'm being charged so much. There is never a manager available to talk an the workers don't know anything. I called every week for months they always said they'll have the manager call me back but they never did. I only checked in once to this gym an they believe the visit is worth 1,500$. I would not recommend this place unless your down with highway robbery an being ignored. I had a great time my first time, I was nervous because I've never done this before and didn't wanna feel like an idiot, but the guy at the counter explained things to me and wrapped my hands for me. He showed me technique for what I would be doing in the work out and answered all my questions. The trainer showed multiple times what she wanted us to do. As out of shape as I am it was hard to keep up but the trainer walked around and helped which I was afraid wouldn't happen, because as a group class I understood it may be hard for individual help. I felt sore after but Great as well. It was a great experience for me and after looking up multiple places with negative reviews my sole focus, the one on here was not my experience.
