This is the cutest little coffee shop on Main Street that has a variety of coffee selections as well as very tasty breakfast options, including the breakfast burrito, which I had. I was great! I'm from Texas, so I definitely judge burritos pretty harshly. This one was fresh, loaded with eggs, potatoes, tomatoes, sausage & cheese. The atmosphere was comfortable. However, the breakfast menu was less than you would expect from a boutique coffee bar in old downtown Starkville. Expected to have an assortment of muffins similar to Starbucks and the like, but they did not have any "standard" muffins(eg blueberry, etc), rather just corn muffins. Coffee as in small cups and they charged for refills. I think I will head across the street to Starkville Cafe next time I'm in town. Advice to the owner, your location is spot on and the atmosphere is great, but the menu and lagniappe service to customers need attention. Keep trying, sit in the cafe and observe the customers and I'm you'll make the right changes for success! read more

They have an amazing vegetable quiche - seasoned very well, light and delicious. I could've eaten a couple of slices easily in one sitting. The caramel latte tasted great, too. I was the first one up on Sunday morning, and I didn't want to wake everyone up, so I came here for coffee. I got there just about 9 o'clock and discovered that's when they opened. I got an Americano, sat at the counter and read. My family decided to join me here for breakfast. There a long line, but it moved pretty swiftly. I got a breakfast burrito, and it was pretty good. It came close to the spiciness line where the food becomes so spicy that I can't taste anything else, but it didn't cross the over spiciness border. My daughter got a burrito bowl, and she liked it. It looked like it had more food than the burrito. My son got the Morning Plate, two eggs, sausage, grits and toast. The grits were undercooked...a little gritty. He also said that he wished they had butter for the toast. The employees were friendly and efficient. I was impressed with how quickly the line moved. It's a typical coffee shop, but a little noisy though. It was bigger than I thought; even though it was busy, there were plenty of seats available. I would come here again. read more

Was very impressed with this place, has a cool vibe. When you walk in you order at the counter, you get your drinks in glasses (which is nice) you take a number and we headed downstairs. I had ordered grits, eggs, bacon (which was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy)and sourdough toast. I asked for some jam and was brought some strawberry preserves. I was told they make it in house and the flavor rotates based on what bars they are making at the time, pretty cool. The toast was so good I wish I would have ordered an extra slice! My kids ordered breakfast sandwiches and they enjoyed their meal as well. I had a cold brew, vanilla iced coffee and it was great and my kids had chai lattes. So 929 has a pretty good crowd most of the time but their coffee wasn't that great when I tried it. It just didn't taste that good I can't really describe what exactly it was about it. Haven't tried any bakery items, but coffee just wasn't that good. read more

Love 929, I come at least once a week to work and study. Most of the patrons are kind, and the atmosphere is always chill and warm. Staff is so friendly and they make an effort to remember their regulars! Service can take a while, so it's not a quick grab if you order off the menu, but they make it all to order and i've never had a bad experience. Coffee is great and the baristas know the menu well. I've come in a few times and asked them to just make me something. My favorite item on the menu is the fried chicken sandwich, and the pastries always hit the spot. These people know their coffee and take pride in their craft. For those interested, this place brews Counter Culture beans. Their food menu is simple but looked delish. We were not able to try any of it since we had just had lunch. Wish they had posted this menu on their website.
