As another review mentioned The Burger! It has something no other burger has had from Biloxi to Southaven. Flavor. Fries perfect. Service amazing. Addison really took care of us. Vibe is relaxacation. We will be back...soon.

What a Ute place with great food and relaxing atmosphere! Full bar. Bar stools are metal and a bit uncomfortable but we really enjoyed our visit overall!

Oh my gosh, this place has the best burger in Starkville, maybe in the entire state. The fries are also TOP TIER. All the food is here unique and delicious. They have a smaller, quaint dining room, but the wait is absolutely worth it!!! Their hours online are wrong - they are open most days of the week in my experience.

Wow !! The supper menu is amazing!! We shared all the dishes , the lobster ravioli and the chicken were great but the pork chop was the best I've ever eaten moist and tender melt in your mouth good. Came back the next night and got it again!!

Absolutely one of my favorite places in Starkville. The cutest shop, very comfortable environment. All or the windows were open so we got a lovely breeze! The food was absolutely wonderful. The staff was quite kind! I absolutely will be going back. Not sure how this isn't more popular yet!

Very small place with only room for about 20 people. The food and service was wonderful. The Older Brother is a great addition to the already fabulous culinary scene in Starkville.

Smoked chicken...it didn't come with a side. Kinda weird muffalette with fries

We arrived at lunch (1PM) on a busy Saturday and were greeted by a somewhat frazzled server who…read moreoffered to seat us at the bar or we could wait for a table. We opted for bar seating and had water brought to us while we scanned the expansive drink menu. In addition to the signature cocktails, there is a variety of hard liquor, an amazing amount of whiskey, wine, (both red and white) as well as an impressive draft beer menu. It should be noted that there's a whiskey flight for $20 and you get a 1 ounce pour of each whiskey. It looks like there are seven on offer for this special. We didn't try it so cannot offer any more insights on that. We ordered the January gumbo special"Baby Duck Gumbo" - mine as is with chicken and sausage for $9 ( interestingly with okra which is only ever found in seafood gumbo ... at least in Louisiana) and the other with the addition of shrimp for $5 more. We asked for the saltines to be left off as we don't like to waste food and aren't fans of these old school standards. We split the brisket melt on marbled rye instead of Texas toast and left off the American cheese too... yeah we're *those* people... the sandwich comes with a choice of house seasoned fries or potato chips and we ordered the fries. The order arrived together (sigh). I would have preferred the gumbo to come first, then the sandwich, but hey, my mistake I guess I *should've* said something. Of course, I thought it was common sense that it should come in two courses instead of altogether. ... On a brighter not the order came just as we had requested and was a nice presentation. The gumbo was hearty and had plenty of protein albeit more rice than I would've liked. NOTE: if you are not an okra fan, beware. Both of us are good with okra so it was not a problem, but they do have plenty of okra in this gumbo. My dining partner said to skip the $5 add on of shrimp because although they are plentiful, they lack flavor. The sandwich is a decent size and was very tasty too and we both gave it a thumbs up. The fries were still hot and had a nice subtle flavor. Overall we'd give this roadhouse feeling, zany atmosphered little joint on the corner of Old West Point Rd and University a recommendation. The servers could use a refresher on how to greet guests and checking on them at least once during the meal :/ (1 star deduction) Oh, hey, they also have ample outdoor seating which is pet friendly for well behaved dogs.

Then it popped up when I was looking for fast food places around here one night last week, so I went then and had a good experience. Today was my second time going to this location (third time EVER going to any Jersey Mike's), and I again had a good experience that I think is worth noting. Yes, Jersey Mike's is a little pricey, but the food is amazing with even better service. I walked in there wanting to get something different from what I got last week, and the girl who took my order was so helpful and offered a specific sandwich that fit my mood. While they were making my sandwich, the staff was eager to answer questions and was prepared to give suggestions concerning, in this case, the pepper relish (which was great!). "Oh yeah that's really good and would go well with mayonnaise." She was right! Again, I don't know if Jersey Mike's is new to Starkville, but this place is amazing and my new favorite place to get a sandwich (former fave was Jimmy John's). Their customer service is impressive and the reason for this review. I'll be stopping by consistently this semester in hopes that they maintain their high standards.

So if you like the crusty Italian bread subs this may not be the place for you. It prob will not be somewhere I frequent at all. But nice for a change up. I did pick up and service was great.
