Okay, I keep saying I am NOT a customer any more (Dollar Tree), but here I am again... Quality/Quantity - Decent size location. Dollar Tree replaced the 99 cent store that used to be here. Easy in and out. I got my one item that was fully in stock. Atmosphere - Well stocked. Good selection. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week from Mondays to Saturday from 8am to 10pm. And on Sundays from 9am to 9pm. Service - Excellent. The one item was on the very, I mean VERY top peg. I asked the employee to borrow his step stool, but then he came and just got it down for me. And he brought a few extra down for future customers. Good thinking. Price - $1.25+; but I only come here for the $1.25 items. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1953 with 15,288+ locations (8000 of which are Dollar Trees). I did not know that Family Dollar "merged" with you in 2021. Backstory: I first discovered 99 Cents Only Stores when I began working as an union, ICG cinematographer and SAG-AFTRA stunt double actor around 1999-2000; the store's location where I first shopped was on Wilshire and Fairfax in West Hollywood . . . Fast-forward to 6/24-26/2018, I'm still shopping at 99 Cents Only Stores but this time, Carson City, Nevada! Whoa~Shirley is traveling everywhere! Moreover, I always refer to YELP! for 99 Cents Only Stores' locations because purchasing a plethora of humungous quantities of whatever I need while traveling isn't conducive cramming gargantuan products inside your travel suitcase, right? Right. Anyway, this time, I needed a towel wrap and a wet hair turban while chilling out at David Walley's Hot, Mineral Springs Spa located in Genoa, Nevada . . . I didn't bring a towel wrap-I just brought a terrycloth bathrobe but, I discovered it's way too hot wearing at the spa in Genoa, Nevada: 6/26/2018's weather temperature today was 93-degrees Fahrenheit=Sizzle-lean yo' baycon buttocks! FYI: The Spa doesn't supply or offer wet hair turbans or towel wraps=BYOTW/BYOWHT, capische?! To my utter surprise and delight, 99 Cents Only Stores heard my prayers: Low and behold-Aaaaaah (A Choir of Angels Singing A Harmonic Melody)~Towel wraps are $4.99 and hair turbans costs 99-cents! Aaaaaasaaaaaah, DAEBAK (Korean exclamation despite, the fact, I'm not Korean)~I'm going back buying more towel wraps and more wet hair turbans for my daughter's two 2018 weddings! read more

First off the store is an absolute disaster. Nothing is properly marked so when you get to check out your total will surely be way beyond what you are expecting. Dont dare question it either or the staff will berate and embarrass you in front of other guests. There is a lot of things there that are actually cheaper at a real store, so watch your prices closely. And finally this place is probably making thousands off of our city with falsely marked products. Nothing, and I mean absolutely NOTHING is $0.99 it is going to be rounded up. Nothing ends in $0.09 it will always be rounded up at the check stand. So do your math (it seems small until you realize how many people shop there over the course of a year). For every $99 spent they take an extra $1 and we pay tax on that. It ads up quick when you consider what they take in each day/week/year. Whatever, after today I dont really feel welcome there and likely won't be back. I know it means nothing in the long run, but it sucks getting treated like crap for questioning their prices, and then being taken advantage of on top of that. read more

WOW ...The manager Peggy is awesome! I called this morning to see if they had received a fresh shipment of produce and spoke to Peggy. She went out of her way to accommodate my needs. I sent her a list of produce items I was in need of because I live in South Lake Tahoe. Peggy made sure whatever items on my list that were available, were held for me. It doesn't get better than that! She's worth her weight in Gold...Best customer service, excellent communication and customer loyalty! Peggy youare the BOMB! I won't shop anywhere else! It's not glamorous to shop here but we are not the royal family with royal income. So it is what it is. Where can you find Klondite or Hagen Daz ice cream for just a dollar? The bread selection, jams, honey, oil, nuts, cup noodles, and other can foods are not that bad. Watch out for those genetic engineering foods! Soaps, detergents, cleaners are world class. read more

This place is a joke!!! No matter what time of day you come in... You always are jam-packed in a long ass line!!! Usually there is only one cashier, with a line of 10 or more customers. The cashier's are ridiculously slow and have no idea how to bag groceries. Their customer service skills are a joke. And as the lines are backing up, you will notice front end managers, who pretend not to notice the lines... I was in there a couple weeks ago, stuck in a line, and I watched the front end manager stand up front, grab a broom, put the broom back, and then disappear. I worked at this location, that's how I know she is a supervisor. I had a total of 4 things and was in line for 20 minutes! The cashier this day was so rude!!! She didn't smile, no eye contact, and she had a nasty stain on her shirt. This place is a joke! read more

I am a regular at this store. Today after I gathered everything I needed to my surprise my wallet was missing. I started to freak out and rushed my 3 kids out the store so I could find it, forgetting that I had a bag of things still in my hand. A woman working there chased us out the store and snatched everything out of our hands, I tried to explain that I wasn't even thinking about it and she didn't wanna hear it. I talked to the manager and they just told me I was trying to steal and I can't come back even when I tried to come and pay for everything. I was a customer at 99 cent ready to purchase some food waiting in line standing my six feet lane 2 open up and let and elderly lady go infront of me like good person would do. Still standing my six foot marked x. When the lady infront yells at for not being 6 feet. I told lady politely I'm standing where I need to be. All of a sudden the cashier yells at me and the store manager kicked me out and singled me about and called the cops on me for following Covid rules in a store. I am a mixed raced individual that was part of racially profiled in the 99 cent store. The cashier closed her register on my and declined my money to let another person that was white go in front of me. While leaving store with frustration and embarrassed by the manger and the store cashier the store manger stated: (You're lucky the cops aren't here yet I would kick your ass.). The only 99 store here! Today I decided to pay with a one hundred dollar bill. I had only 3 items and the cashier said she can't take the bill because she may not have enough change. She also mentioned that when I pay with a large bill like that I need to minimum get 5 items. So 5 dollars worth of things. Now there is no sign, nothing that reads no bill over 20 or anything of that nature! This was embarrassing, time consuming. I don't blame the cashier it is management that needs to out up signs or something. read more

I come in here every once and again because they have really great stuff, especially for holidays and it's usually under 5$. I'm writing the review because I witnessed one of the kindest and most beautiful moments between humans here that it made my eyes swell up and reminded me there are really good people out there. I was checking out and you could tell the cashier was having a really really bad day, she had to call the manager for the person in front of me and then realized she needed to call her for me because she didn't have change. She said to the other cashier oh no I have to call the manager up again shes going to be so annoyed. You could tell she was nervous and just having one of those bad days we all have. The manager came up and the cashier was apologetic and the manager looked at her and said "sweetie it's all good, I want to thank you so so much for coming into work today sick". It absolutely touched my heart and it was so beautiful to watch this manager support her staff. Her name is Kristina, she is an insane human and deserves to go far with the company. I've been coming to this store since it opened about 2 years ago and I have always loved it. But they have gotten so much better! I can just tell how much cleaner and organized the store has gotten. Amazing customer service! 9/10 will continue to shop here for years! read more
