7/7/2021: DOH! Guess what faux-pas I committed? I lost my ten-foot, iPhone, fast, lightning charging cable via the last leg of my flight, Hawaiian Airlines from Honolulu while flying to Sacramento Airport! RATS!!!! It's incredibly strange I lost my charging cable when I had locked it inside my Pacsafe hip bag while flying . . . Hmmmm~ Weird. Anyway, I bought an upgraded, ten-foot, lightning, charging cable. The charging cable is more heavy-duty, thicker; it's black, wrapped with the same material as an industrial, extension cord verses the charging cable I lost was wrapped in some sort of corded, cotton cloth, flimsy material. Moreover, I can never find a ten-foot lightning charging cable in Placerville, Sacramento, Roseville, Rancho Cordova or any of the Bay Area Big Lots Stores: Oddly, this Big Lots Store has a plethora of items I have YET seen in other Big Lots Stores' inventory. read more

I'm clearly in the minority at this Big Lots. I don't understand all the one star reviews. I've always had success with this store. Most anything you can think of retail is tucked away in one of the aisles. The prices are pretty good and the folks are all super nice. Very professional. That's all you can expect. The rest is gravy. This is where we get our phone chargers, shampoos, paper goods and spaghettios for the grand kids. They have furniture, bedding (including the mattress and box) and plenty of seasonal stuff. Today I found one of those sugar dispensers that you find in restaurants. Only $3. I've already used it twice. We're headed east for some R&R. I stop here and load up on big bags of candy to drop on unsuspecting grandchildren. 1/20 read more

I'm updating my review to reflect what happened. I bought a couch and delivery from BigLots Sunday. The guy calls me Monday says delivery is 9-9 on Thursday. I call Wednesday and ask for a shorter window. It can't be done. I stay home from work Thursday to get my delivery. I get a text from the moving company saying they will try to deliver my couch today. What?! I call the store to talk to the manager who tells me they don't have delivery anymore and she can guarantee it won't be delivered and she doesn't know why her sales associate sold me delivery. What is going on here? Why was I sold delivery and made to stay home for 12 hours in one day losing a day of work believing up until Thursday at noon my couch was being delivered. This is a terrible experience for me buying something from BigLots. Absolutely terrible read more

I arrived at the store shortly after 10am to look at furniture. I asked 3 different employees for assistance beginning shortly after 10:20am. Nobody came to help until after 10:45am. The person that asked if I needed help was very condescending and rude. I told her what I was looking for, many different things, she said "we don't have any of that" referring to products that had models on the shelves and walked away. I was prepared to spend upwards of $2000 on various items and left with no purchases. Poor customer service and allegedly nothing in stock. I understand limited staffing and I am fully aware that the items in store are very limited right now too, but to get no explanation, and treated so poorly was disheartening. I want to support brick and mortar stores, but this is the reason they are going extinct. If you're truly out of something, put up a sign...if it's planned to be carried still, note that. Nice selection of random goods. Things could be marked down a smidge more. $14.99 for a bag of beef jerky is about a zero savings.

Bought some cushions, poor quality, tried to return twice, 1st attempt 20+min wait had to leave, late for work, 2nd attempt missed the 30 day return window by one day...out of luck...screw Bug Lots...lost a customer!! read more

I do like big lots for the most part, but stay from the broyhill furniture, it is the worst Furniture we have ever purchased it has sharp pieces of metal and wire sticking out in places the cushions break down very quickly and overall just a poor quality, beware. read more

Crap, crap, crap. Look carefully, most of the merchandise sold here is barely a step above dollar store quality. I bought a set of three cute chenille socks for $5 - all three fell apart the first time I washed them. The aisles are tough to navigate - God forbid two people both with shopping carts end up in the same aisle. It's a show down, with someone having to cry "uncle" and backing up and out of the aisle. read more

Big Lots. I won't be shopping at Big Lots any longer. I bought a $12 pair of shoes, returned it and only got $9.60. I thought I lost the receipt. The next day I found receipt and brought it in and they still won't return my money. I could understand it if the shoes had gone on sale from one day to the next and I got the sale price, the but shoes are still selling for $12. The manager said it's their computer system and she can't help me. It's not the $2.40 (plus tax), it's the principle!!! read more

Years ago I went to a Big Lots in another state. It was so depressing. I decided to avoid going into a Big Lots again. Here in Carson City I thought that I would just peek inside to see how this one was. I was very pleasantly surprised! Bright and well maintained. Shelves were stacked and organized! What a joke. Only come here if you want the runaround. I have been checking on a patio set for weeks. I asked in the store and Omar told me there were none available and one person ahead of me when it came in. He also said they get deliveries weekly and to call. So I started calling every week and nope they never had one. I went to the store again and asked him. The display was marked clearance so I asked him if I could buy the display. He said no because they only mark it as clearance when they have too many. I said how could you have too many and none ever available. I again asked to buy the display. He said no but a truck was coming Friday. I called Friday and was told none were on it and to call again in a week. Well I just called and he said none were on the truck and the display is sold. I said why did you not sell me the display? He said he had to wait until he was "allowed" to which was conveniently three days after I asked. He offered to put me on a waiting list. I said why didn't you offer me that before??? I have been calling for weeks and he said he had to wait until he was "allowed" to. What a crock. The only thing big here is the amount of BS they are dishing out. Stay far away. read more

3:37pm on Sunday, September 6th. I called Big Lots in Carson City, NV. I let them know that I would like to come pick up a large $400 dresser but in order to do so, I would need to go rent a uhual first so because of this, I asked them to check their stock for me so I wasn't getting the truck for no reason. They checked the back, and found the exact one I needed. I politely requested they hold the dresser with my name on it for 2 hours so I can get the truck and come pick up. They agreed. Now, 4:50pm, only an hour after my phone call, I had arrived at the store with the uhual. I walked to the back furniture section where I was helped by an older woman named Callie. I told Callie my dresser was on hold and I'd like to get it. She went to the back and came out with a hold tag that had my name on it. She asked if that was me and I said yes and then she goes on to tell me that the tag was on the side and she didn't see it so she had just sold my dresser. I was in shock. I have never felt so upset and frustrated. I just drove an HOUR from my home, rented and paid for a truck and dragged all 3 of my babies to this store for no reason. I told this to Callie but she offered me absolutely ZERO help. I even asked if she could sell me the display that wss sitting right there and she refused.. She saw the tears in my eyes from frustration and what did she do? SHE WALKED AWAY FROM ME! Just left me there, didn't offer me any solution and didn't even say good bye or that she had to get back to work or whatever the case may be. I then spent almost an hour sitting outside calling different Big Lots in Reno until I found one that had the dresser. I then had to take my uhual rental to Reno NV (2 HOURS from my house). Pick it up in Reno, drive it 2 hours back home. Drive the uhual another hour back to Carson City and then again, had to drive myself an hour back home. Big lots in Carson City, caused me to return my uhual 3 hours late (obtaining a late charge) and also caused me to rack up over $100 of mile charges on the truck rental!!!! read more

For a Big Lots this one is one of the bigger and better laid out stores I have been to. There is plenty of open space and things are not cluttered like in other locations, the isles are nicely spaced and they have things in a nice order that makes it pleasant to shop. They are always getting new items and it pays to check them out every once in a while. Last newest find was iphone hard cases for $5 and Loreal hair color for $4.50. read more

I actually really like big lots. they have different stuff to look at all the time. My last visit I was looking for a bed frame/headboard for my son. Jonathan met by Jonathan. Introduced him self.. but very unfriendly. Almost acted like I was bothering him. Moving past that, Who cares, but what bothered me is how he was talking to another older employee. He was so degrading, condescending and just plain rude. I felt so embarrassed and sad for the other older gentleman! I actually just left my cart and left. He is very disrespectful! read more

Nice store but it appears they have a lot of new people who haven't been trained very well. When checking out they forget tobask if you have the discount card thus haven't received credits for a couple of purchases. read more

As for the store great prices friendly service but the bathrooms come on don't let the public use if your gonna have feces and blood on the walls and hand dryer wall if covered with mildew might be health issue i would think just saying nasty and that shows horrible management and lazy as hell read more
