I never thought this store would be such a bad experience since I always shop at other 99c stores in the area and never have I encountered an issue with rude employees. I went into the store did my shopping. In the back I realized they had mini Stella rose bottles and they were full boxes sealed with a sign 14.99 price. I'm a customer and I don't know the prices since the employees put up the signs. Therefore, I got a box and went to checkout and the girl named Rocio rang me out and she says that's not the price on there it's wrong. I said how is it wrong if that's the price you guys have posted in the display back there. Then she says it might of been a mistake one of the employees did or maybe it's just one box there. Another employee got to the box and said no the boxes should have an open display and I said no there isn't I walked over to show her and even she said that's so weird this is wrong they should respect the price she herself said that because she knew I was right. I stated to Rocio that she was wrong all boxes were closed there was about 6 boxes stacked up none were open and they had the sign clearly there she starts getting crazy saying I cannot give you the whole box? What?!? How is that the customers fault if they're the ones that put the prices. She continued to call gabby the store manager and she said there's nothing we can do if they have a problem they need to call corporate. When it was their fault? Makes no sense. This is wrong as Rocio being the manager on duty the time I went her job should be to walk around the store and make sure the pricing is correct because they looked at me like I was crazy and didn't know what I was talking about when they knew it was their mistake. Horrible experience you guys need to hire people that will make sure they do their job correctly because us as customers walking into the store all pricing should be correct and accurate. I would never of imagined writing a review about a 99 cents store. Came inside to get some random movie night snacks. Staff might of been limited or something because there was no one to help out. When I finally ran into someone. (Young white purple light hair employee) asked for the energy drinks and then if I could use their restroom. Since I first approached her she seemed to be upset at something. Cutting me short answering with an attitude and looking away when I would talk to her. She gave 3 different answers. Restrooms are flooded and even they can't use them(seems illegal) I said that does not sound right and then she changed her answer to they are being cleaned because of the flood. Then finally saying NO RESTROOM FOR NO ONE EVEN CUSTOMERS. Getting a No for using the restroom is ok but her attitude and body language when being spoken to was so unprofessional She clearly does not want to work here. Denied speaking to a manager read more

The one star doesn't really reflect on the store itself but more so the parking lot. Been bringing my mom here for over yearssss!! but the last couple of times I've been here I'm disgusted at how filthy the parking lot is the odor of piss I get right when I get out car thank god I was wearing my mask. This 99 cent Store is not clean outside or inside things need to be cleaned up. It also smells bad outside before you get into that 99 cent store . The parking lot needs to be renewed so bad. The parking lot is damaged already. There is trash everywhere almost. I go to the one in Downey because it's more wide and more organized and clean. It has more new stuff. I like this 99 cent store but it needs improvement. Also the 99 cent store building outside looks so dirty like they haven't cleaned the building with a hose. I suggest painting it a new color please do not paint it gray (NO dead looking colors). Maywood is a decent neighborhood and deserves better colors. The Pollo Loco in Maywood I did not like how they painted it a dark gray. They should have painted it as the one in Downey or Cudahy. The 99cent in maywood store would look good in a polo tan or a color that's more meaningful and beautiful for customers to see. Also the place inside needs to smell good .It always smells the same and people can't use the bathroom easy. It just needs improvement. I may come across as a cheap person in this review, but who doesn't like to save cash-flow and find good stuff? I know I do. Anyhow, I love me some 99 Cents Stores for some shopping. This place is awesome! They carry great stuff and some of them are known named brands. Example, this weekend I decided to head to Rite Aid before going to 99 Cents, I purchased a travel size Dove soap (at Rite Aid) that cost me $2 and some change... well I found the big size at 99 Cents for a Dollar! (A dollar make me holla honey boo boo). Haha! Jk. But anyhow, I love coming here for Halloween decorations, candy and other little things I may need for the office. Not big on buying produce, but other than that, it's all good. Parking seems to be way better since Liborios is closed. read more

This is my all time favorite go to 99 cent store!! Honestly I been too so many nearby but they don't compare. This location is always fully stocked and had all the new stuff. Went in to check out the Easter stuff and there was so many I couldn't decide. This is the place to shop. You can get everything you need. From your basket to the grass to the eggs and the toys and even the wrapping paper for your basket. This place is a gold mine. Recommend it if you need anything from the current holiday or just essentials. The lines get pretty long so plan accordingly read more

This is the go to spot when you need to save some cash. They are starting to get better products and more produce which is good. My number 1 complaint about this place would have to be the checkout lines. A 5 minute trip can turn into a 15+ minute trip in no time. Best bet is to check out at the rear entrance (if it's open) and exit through the front. Place is great to shop the things I need, from drinks, snacks, house essentials, and other things as well. The only thing I do not like about this place is that some of the cashier is rude and to top it off they are alot of people able to be a cashier, but they are busy chit chatting and doing other things rather helping customers.
