When I say variety, I mean reallly variety! Dog treats, melted glass bottles, light bulb ornaments, crocheted socks, amber jewelry, a clock that runs on water, a barber chair, pasta sauce, a heart made out of wine corks, fashion clothing designed just for you, Americana, hats for Saratoga track season, sparklers, polymer clay jewelry, and artwork made out of bent forks. What this translates into is that you KNOW you will find something when you walk in, because the interests are so wide. Regarding the start-ups, it's neat for them to have a place to launch their businesses while having some support or infrastructure at the same time. I wish there were more places like this.

I came back two days later, saw the items... and then he said "oh no... I don't sell them".. I was confused, he seem like he didn't want to talk with me, the another employee seem wasn't sure to answer me but kept saying we don't sell them. I'm not up for this and his attitude if he keeps changing his mind either to sell or not to sell, I don't have time for people like him who keep changing their mind and etc if you get to know him more... but people, don't waste your time going there, its his storage room... not an business. My experience with this firm continues to cause distress 7 months after the debacle. Know This! These people are poorly organized and do not leave you feeling anything but angry and cheated. Nearly 3 months prior to sale we set a date. References were called but I believe they were family or friends. I was moving out of state so could not be there to oversee the sale. Two weeks prior to the agreed upon date , I was informed the date was moved forward one week . When I showed email proof, this firm changed back, but didn't reschedule another commitment so my sale was double booked. As a result I was told they wouldn't have enough time to properly prepare. ( and they didn't property prepare, it was total chaos.) It got worse. As promised, they advertised the sale for Friday and Saturday . On Friday morning, in another state, I receive a call from my security service. This firm was not at my home, but the public was. They were walking through my house and had tripped my alarm. J&k said they were at the other sale and "made a mistake" advertising the sale on a day they did not intend to be there, and "made a mistake" leaving my door unlocked. So the poorly prepped sale went on a day after strangers walked through, but J&K "reassured" me "nothing was missing." Know this: J&K will not provide you with a list of items sold, nor how much items were sold for. they will tell you that at the end of the sale they let buyers walk because "they were trying to and dime me." And lastly they will bring in another firm to charge you hundreds of dollars to clean out what didn't sell so that firm can resell it for their own benefit. Im not sure if there was conflict of interest. In summary, my advice, find an estate sales firm that knows estates.

The farm implements out front were quite intriguing, as was the building's obvious early history as a roadside tavern/inn at this old wayfarer's intersection. Sadly, Remember When proved to have two types of items. The former were mildly intriguing older items, such as needlepoint chairs and the aforementioned farm artifacts such as milk cans or old plow furrows, completely overrpriced. By factors of four or five. The second type of item is an eclectic olio of items ranging from old tools to old magazines to china to a few vintage clothes to orphaned large scale photographs, which have the common theme of looking like leftovers from an estate sale, and they also tended to be quite overpriced. I'm a big fan of dickering about things, but one thing I've learned from a lot of negotiations at used and thrift places over the years is that if the owner thinks the things are truly "antiques" and not just old stuff, and prices it accordingly, there's no point in starting out because your lowball price will be rejected, often with the sense one has insulted the owner. That said, I wasn't even tempted by much here. If this was called a "junk store" and was priced accordingly, I'd be more admiring, but as it is I can't really recommend it as being worth your time unless you are a completist about scouring every such store in a given area.

You know...I'm no antique shop owner or expert, but something tells me that it takes more than raiding an estate sale, tagging everything at four or five times what it should be just because it's old, and trying to sell it to out of towners spending the day "antiquing".
