He will charge you up front for absolutely no work being completed and then will give you the run around for months and months with excuse upon excuse. Chris arrived promptly and discovered the problem within 10 mins. the motor had frozen up. with a few quick pumps on the motor, he started working beautifully. chris stated that it could work for a couple days and go out again or could keep working. he gave me the cos for a new motor in case it went out again. very reasonable. will most suredely use a1 appliance if i ever need repair service again. great company. read more

Our 2 year old Whirlpool washer was displaying codes and not working. He tried the simplest solution first, mentioning it could be something more severe, but a simple broken wire was fixed. After a couple days, the same thing happened and he came as soon as he could. A different wire had broken due to poor design so he then soldered both wires. He was competent, thorough and just as importantly, showed up when he said he would! We highly recommend! read more

We scheduled a service call with Chris and then hurricane Helene hit. Even with all that was going on he was out to see us soon after. Our Samsung refrigerator was not cooling. I had recently read a lot about the particular model we have and it wasn't good. The parts are expensive and it had reached the age where it's only the beginning of the problems we will have. Luckily, Chris is an honest guy. Instead of going ahead and installing the expensive parts and charging me the labor fee to do it, he told me exactly what I had read and that was better of getting a new unit. This guy never returned our calls after the first visit didn't fix the problem. He left us hanging then didn't show up. We called another company and the guy fixed our problem in 1/2 hour. I do not recommend this company read more

No call and no show twice. Was concerned about getting his service fee in cash at his arrival then actually showing up.

We called Chris on our way up from Florida to see if he could look at my washer that was not filling. He told us what the initial service call would be and that he could be there first thing in the morning! We were so pleased and relieved to find out that it was just our faucet was turned off‍. Chris said the parts for our Maytag washer were delayed in arriving because of COVID. I understand that but had to call him daily to get an update and most of the time his voice mail box was full and he never returned my calls. At finally had to resort to calling him from my office phone so he wouldn't know it was me and he would pick up. Not professional at all! On top of which after about 6 weeks where the part never arrived, he finally offered us a refund which we still haven't seen. Each time we call a out it his mailbox is full and he doesn't return our calls. I'm going to have to go to the business and demand the refund in person where he can't dodge me. Chris Hagedorn (owner) is a crook! He was contacted by my landlord to service my refrigerator & microwave. He came out on 8/20 and determined what the issues were. He said he would order parts but required cash up front ($150) for the repair. He said the parts would be in on Wednesday (8/25) and that he would be back on Friday (8/27) to repair as we would need to shut down the fridge. I called him Wednesday night to confirm that we were good to go and that I should go ahead and unplug the fridge. He said the parts weren't there and he'd call me Thursday. I have never heard from him. I have called many times but can not leave a voicemail because it's full. Multiple texts have never been responded to. My landlord got him on the phone on 8/27 and he told him that the part hadn't arrived and the the soonest he could come out was on Tuesday (8/31). Needless to say, he now can't get in touch with him. There was no other choice but to get another repair company out. That person told us that Chris has done this to many people. Completely unprofessional. Arrived late to our house, refused to wear a mask, and threw a fit about it, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. We literally had to kick them off our property after they threatened us saying they "saw our truck and if they see us around town..." as if they would come after us. Our Oven broke and we hired Chris Hagedorn Owner of A-1 Appliance Service to repair it. Once we called for the repair he set up an appointment within a couple days and he arrived when he said he would. He diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. As soon as the part arrived he promptly came back out and installed it. His repair rates were very reasonable, actually much more reasonable that other repairs we've had done in the past. I highly recommend him, and will use him in the future should I need any other repairs. read more
