I'm Asian and when I walked in there they didn't treat me any different or anything but this year I wasn't feeling confident about hunting because of how bad I was shooting cus I'm a right eye dominant but I broke my right collar bone so I couldn't pull so I had to learn to shoot and aim with my left. I first visited A-1 Archery to watch my granddaughter in one of the store's leagues. The leagues are organized by Dana Keller, a fantastic instructor who seems to have every instructor certification there is. Not only does Dana organize the leagues, she gives helpful instruction to the archers in the league. After watching my granddaughter for the past year, I decided to take up the sport, even though I'm in my 80's. Dana let me try out a bow, and then and there I decided to get a bow and participate with my granddaughter. I was then introduced to the equipment side of A-1 Archery. In my view, the staff at A1-Archery obviously matches the quality of their league program, judging by the steady stream of archers that come to the store for repairs and equipment and accessories. I went to the counter and said I wanted to purchase a compound bow. I was helped by Brian Niedzielski, and our conversation started with Brian asking, "What is your budget for the bow." I had discussed budget several times with my son in law an experienced archer and had decided on a budget, so I was ready for Brian's question. I was impressed that this was the starting point for my purchase so there would be no overselling. I told Brian what features I wanted the bow to have then Brian seem to start a computer in his head that put together all of the elements I wanted and after going through options resulted in a compound bow and accessories that did not exceed my budget. During that process I had to confirm several times that I wanted to spend some or all of the budgeted amount. After a decision on all of the options was made, all within my budget, Brian took a number of measurements he needed to build the bow. I was told when the bow would be ready for a final fitting. I live 53 miles away from A1-Archery, so I picked up my compound bow the next time my granddaughter was shooting. I picked up my bow, Brian made several final adjustments, sized the arrows and I completed a detailed process that was much more complex than I ever imagined. A1-Archery is worth every bit of my 53 mile drive. I don't know how they have been able to assemble that many archery experts in one place, but I'm glad they did. Also worth the drive is their indoor range. I expect to make as much use of their 20-yard range as I can through these freezing winter months. read more

Amazing shop! Due to a shoulder injury, conventional archery is not an option for me, so I strolled into A-1 in July learn about crossbows. Little John and Dan helped me navigate the cornucopia of options. I settled on a Ten Point Turbo S1. Dan got me started on the range and turned me loose. The 5 hours of range time that came with the purchase were invaluable. The staff was always eager give me a refresher on crossbow operation and maintenance. They coached me on crossbow shot placement, arrow inspection, and tracking. I was over the moon to take my first archery buck in September. Thanks A-1! read more

If you go to big box store instead of A-1, you are crazy. This place is fantastic! They offer excellent service at very fair prices. I feel bad that i even comsidered buying a bow from a big box retailer prior to stepping foot in A-1! read more

Great guys there. Super friendly. I went in there because I thought I needed a new string for my bow. The guy that helped me was super honest with me and said I don't need a new one yet. He could have said I did and I wouldn't have known the difference, just to make a buck, but he didn't and I think that's a stand up thing. I also had him fit me properly for my bow because I felt like I had been developing bad habits because of the place I bought the bow from (not A1) didn't fit me properly to the bow. The staff worked with me patiently and we got the issues corrected and then some. The staff there tends to go above and beyond to help you with your archery needs without trying to just make a buck off you. I highly recommend A1! read more
